I wanted to depict strong women warriors who do not necessarily look like the typical warrior. With different sizes, ages, and body types, each one feels like she has a rich backstory and history.

She looks like a Native American warrior. Powerful, confident, and capable.

I want to know her story. Why does she have a duck? Why does the duck have a fabulous victorian updo?

He's clearly the duck of luck. Evain grew up in a coastal village 3 hours walk at the city. Day after day she walked the same roads, ate the same food, and reveled in the comfort and warmth of home. Her older brother was a member of a fishing crew and would come home for only a few weeks a year. When he came home Evain would bombard Nael with questions about his latest adventure. Hanging on his every word. She never expected to become part of the story. The world was vast and complicated. She was tending to the garden one day when a rustle from a nearby bush caught her attention. Beneath the branches, she found a pure white duck with an injured foot. She gathered the bedraggled feathered fluff and set off for the barn. Evain made sure the duck was comfortable and safe. Nursing the duck back to health. During this time, when the duck was almost completely healed, Nael came home for a week. Like always he recounted his tales and exaggerating for effect. On the final day,

She looks like a D&D character and familiar my youngest brother had! (Purna and Quackers, for the curious.)

No one noticed that her legs are bone thin? They are wrapped with those thick leather straps, not much space left for muscles.

Where's her bow? The quiver of arrows would swing around and trip her up.

Love her. She looks fun. I think of Louise penny who has a character who keeps a duck.

Weather and armor evaluation: a good number of these characters are wearing a type of padded/quilted armor very similar to gambeson. This one is wearing a sleeveless vest with no sleeved shirt underneath it leaving her arms exposed, but I can't take too many points off for that because of the whole fantasy adventurer archetype and I feel like it kind of suits her. The sword is puzzling me a bit because normally, a hand guard on a sword would point or curve in front of your hand. If a sword has a curved blade, that usually means it's meant for cutting and to optimize that function, it'll curve backwards. Even on some swords like the ancient Greek Kopis, some variants the medieval falchion or messer, that have the blade curve forward somewhere on the front edge, it'll usually curve back so the point is always closer to the back edge of the sword. Tell me of any exceptions to this, because I'd legitimately be happy to know. This sword she's carrying has a hand guard facing one way which I assume would be the front and the blade appears to be curving in the same direction. I don't know if I'm looking at it wrong, I cant get out of the comments yet to look at it again because it'll completely undo it. There is the possibility that the tip of the blade is actually curved back slightly like the design of the Kopis, but I do think there are some swords were the design is intentionally made so the curve can be wielded in either direction so the point can be used to stab by swinging instead of thrusting. Who knows? Seriously, tell me if you do? Now my only question is why does she have a quiver of arrows but no bow?

This is my favorite. A woman with this build is only ever portrayed as the bad guy, if she's seen at all. However, I know several lovely women of the same shape IRL, just as varied as the whole of your series. Beautiful job!

Hyperlordosis: an exaggerated inward curve of the lumbar spine. It can cause discomfort but not usually pain. Speaking from experience of having this condition.
