Man Who Has Been Goofy At Disney World For 20 Years Shares The Most Magical Moment Of His Career
Many people believe that Disney World is a magical place, that’s why 52 million people visit the famous vacation resort each year. In case you’re one of those who are unable to see its enchanting powers, there’s something that might change your mind. And who can do that better than Disney World employees who clearly have seen it all? One of them, Mikey Jacobs, volunteered on the subreddit called Ask Me Anything to share everything that people are curious about.
More info: reddit.com
Jacobs worked at Disney World in Orlando, Florida, from 1989 to 2015, and played the character Goofy for around 20 years.
While Jacobs originally intended to spoil the Disney magic for those who idealize the resort too much, he ended up delivering an enchanting story after being asked about his most magical moment at work.
The way Jacobs took care of two little girls who had just witnessed the deaths of their parents stole people’s hearts. Even though the story was told years after it happened, it continues to have a tremendous effect on people’s lives. After reading Jacobs’ story, people were inspired to pay the kindness forward.
One user said they have donated toys to the Florida Hospital for Children, which is closely located to Disney World, as many other people followed his example. The hospital received dozens of donations for the ill children, entirely thanks to Jacobs’ story.

Share on FacebookWe've had the most memorable times as a family at both of the parks Land and World. We admire the effort the characters and staff make to ensure the magic continues by always going the extra mile. People may think it's just a job, but it takes a special human being to be that character!
Ah yes, same. Hard to hide too. Going to toilet, brb :P

My mum had a breakdown and it took a decade to get her back, by which point I was already lost. Anyone - anyone at all - who could make me smile in that time was a god. Anyone who can commit themselves to this level of magic and gift it to traumatised children is deserving of the very greatest of gifts that love, gratitude and forgiveness can bring. Thank you for helping those babies. Thank you for making every visitor through those doors smile. Thank you for making the real world hurt just a midgen less.
This story left me feeling sick to my stomach. All I could think about was what they would endure after leaving this magical moment. I just wish they could have frozen time and stayed there forever. My heart aches for them and I hope they were able to find a way to start healing. I’ve seen the magic of Disney firsthand after a tragedy. It’s my favorite place ever. This is a reminder that in the darkest of times, there is light and magic. We just need help finding it.
What do I think? I've been crying since I started reading this story...terribly, heartrendingly sad and tramatically, horrifyingly ghastly..... but still......LOVE. Always, love.
What all of you did for those kids makes me believe in the magic of people loving people. Awesome story my hays off to you.
Amazing man! Thank you for being a hero to two young girls who needed a bit of Magic. Heartbreaking situation.
I hope the girls will read this story and that their life goes well despite the tragedy.
I'm at Disney world right now, and it really is truly magical. I know some people may think it's "childish" to go to Disney, but it makes me appreciate all the cast members even more.
What a heartbreaking story, but I´m glad Disney was able to make these girls smile. By the way, Goofy is my favorite Disney character!
