Carrie Fisher & Debbie Reynolds Growing Up Together In 31 Touching Vintage Photos
Carrie Fisher and her mom Debbie Reynolds, who recently passed away just one day apart, didn’t always have a smooth relationship. “I found it difficult to share my mother with her adoring fans who treated her like she was part of their family,” said Fisher while presenting her mother with a lifetime achievement award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Still, the two screen legends grew closer in the years before their deaths, and when Fisher died, aged 60, from a heart attack on December 27th, TMZ reported that Reynold’s parting words to her son, Todd, were, “I miss her so much. I want to be with Carrie.” Just fifteen minutes later, Reynolds suffered a fatal stroke at the age of 84. It isn't "ripe old age" when the lady didn't look old and on the brink of death. I would have never expected Debbie to die the age she did and in the condition that she did. It was so obvious she was devestated from Carrie's death...

2016 has been a hard year for deaths of people I respect. So sad to see these two go. Glad they can at least be together.

"Growing up" is a term reserved for siblings. It sounds stupid when applied to mother and daughter, as Reynolds was pretty grown up already by the time she had Carrie.
Growing up together can also be used for friends, not only siblings. While yes her mother was already a grown woman, I think the intention in the headline is that they grew together, they matured, and nurtured and were alongside each other through so much, that they became more than just a parent and a child.
