Nobody said being vegan is easy; it takes a certain level of self-control and preparation to live up to your ideals. One accusation that is often leveled at vegans is the way veganism converts eulogize about the benefits of their dietary choice, while most of the time scolding others for their 'unorthodox' meat-eating decisions. While it usually comes from the right place, wanting others to feel as good about themselves as the vegans do, it can be a bit grating for meat or dairy eaters who just aren't interested in the whole vegan diet thing.

Surely there's a more natural way to spread the message of vegan food goodness? One that's unpretentious, self-deprecating and easily digested? Why yes, vegan memes of course! We here at Bored Panda have collected the best memes that vegans can seriously relate to, and maybe even pass on a few to their friends who don't get it yet. Scroll down below to check them out for yourself, and don't forget to vote for your favorites!

I've always wondered, though. How do they get milk out of almonds, coconuts and soy beans? (Here in Hong Kong soy milk in plastic bottles are as common of a drink as coke, maybe more, and I don't even know where they get it from.)

I'm pretty sure they mean like "vegan meals". If someone says "I've never had Chinese food", you don't go like "You've never had RICE!?"

If you do not find something tasty at a good vegan restaurant, you seriously have issues. Besides, pretty much the whole indian cuisine can be prepared in a vegan way, and there are countless delicious options.

I told my mother-in-law the new vegan dish I created and she just rolled her eyes. When I asked what that was about, she responded with a joke about how there was no meat in it, how could it possibly taste good. That's when I dropped the bombshell of the Chocolate Latte Cake I made for Christmas that she scarfed down...totally vegan..and Gluten Free. "Did it taste good?" She got quiet. I told her "We aren't doing vegan for the sake of the animals. We are doing it because our health was so bad, we needed a different way to eat so we wouldn't die. Do you think that's funny?" She apologized. After that..she gave us nothing but support and even started learning how to cook vegan.

I think this picture illustrates many of the misunderstanding between vegans and the non-vegans. Vegan food is more than a meat-dish bereaved of animal products. Anyone claiming that vegan food cannot be tasty and healthy (regardless of continuing to eat meat or not) either has not experiences well-prepared vegan food or is simply closed-minded.

Easy explanation, chickens, pigs, cows etc are raised for the purpose of being eaten. Cats and dogs aren't (in most parts of the world).

I'm a vegetarian with known food allergies to nuts and several types of bean. If I had a dollar for every time a vegan purposely added allergens to my food, I wouldn't need to get generic epipens.

I went to get my haircut and the hairdresser I got proceeded to tell me how she sometimes put chicken broth or chicken fat in dishes that she'd serve to her vegan friends during potlucks. She laughed as she said how they would call her up the next day telling her that they were sick all day the next day. I just looked at her, kept my mouth shut til she finished my hair..and as I paid for the haircut (no tip)..I turned to the manager and said I would not be back as long as she worked there when she's the type of person to risk her friends health just so she could get a laugh. I then told the stylist that I thought she was a s****y person for doing what she did and that she could kill someone or hospitalize someone who has an allergy to the ingredient. There is nothing funny about that. And I also told her I hope the next person she does that to brings her up on charges of assault or sues her for medical costs. The manager called me the next day to let me know the girl was fired.

Never come across anyone who cares that someone else is vegan or vegetarian. I have come across vegans who have called "meat eaters" "worse than murderers" though.

I eat mostly vegetarian or pescatarian food no one ever comments on it. But I don't say I'm vegetarian because it's not part of my identity? I just don't like how meat tastes and in honesty I feel a bit sick after so I just stopped eating meat. No big deal

Hmm. I have rarely encountered an omnivore who lectures others because they are vegan or vegetarian. I regularly encounter vegans and vegetarians who will lecture coworkers, family members, classmates, teachers, and total strangers when they observe someone eating meat.

Every time i witness a vegan talking about their food or lifestyle online, there are followup comments from meat eaters that amount to lecturing at best, and abuse at worst. I witness this constantly. CONSTANTLY. The precious little triggered snowflakes seem to be the meat eaters who can’t let a single mention of non-meat-eating go by without posting “but bacon” or posting photos of BBQ ribs, or something. I’ve not seen as CONSISTENT a type of behavior from vegans.

How does your veganism/vegitarianism affect me personally? Hmmm how about all the s**t that you spread not knowing anything about farming? Everything you have learned about "Animal Cruelty" is from the 1% of animal farms. That's how it affects me personally, because you're muddying the conversation with biased, and often incorrect information from shoddy sources. Love ya boo~!

You want to know how? easy...i respect your choice of life please respect mine, if you start proselytizing your Veganism then i do have a problem with that. If you want respect for your choice respect the other person's choice. From my limited interactions with vegans I saw mostly hateful stuck-up people that thought themselves better than anyone else because of this choice...so what affects me is the s****y behavior and the entitlement that people should cater to your needs...
