Vancouver Police Canine Unit Just Released Their 2019 Charity Calendar And It’s Badass
Very good police dogs and their handlers have been getting together for very badass photoshoots. And for a noble cause.
“The dog pictures calendar was started in 2009 by retired Vancouver Police Sergeant Mike Anfield in honor of his wife, VPD Constable Candy Anfield who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2004,” Social Media Liaison officer for the Vancouver Police Department, Anne-Marie Clark told Bored Panda. “Proceeds from the sale of the calendars go towards the B.C. Cancer Foundation and B.C. Children’s Hospital Foundation.”
“The police dogs all followed their handlers instructions during the photo shoots and were good dogs,” Anne-Marie Clark added. “You can see their personalities showing through in the pics. PSD Brando really is as cool as he looks with his sunglasses on. PSD Bailey loves a quick break in a local coffee shop. PSD Jack takes his job seriously and is always determined to get to the truth when it comes to interviewing suspects!”
“We currently have 15 smart dog teams in the VPD Canine Unit. Each team is comprised of a police service dog and their human handler.”
“The police services dogs are important to our department because they are trained in a variety of disciplines which include: tracking, criminal apprehension, evidence recovery, narcotics, firearms, and explosives detection. The Canine Unit responds to over 10,000 calls for service each year in the city of Vancouver, and to Lower Mainland police agencies which require the services of a police dog and handler.”
The cute dogs calendar costs $15.00, and you can order it from anywhere in the world here.

Here are some adorable pics from earlier calendars: 2018

2016
2015
Finally a non-naked calendar! All of these pictures are amazing. And most certainly badass.
Awesome. Every single one says "don't run, you'll just go to jail tired. And I'll get a treat."
This need to be on TOP! They look all so determined but still remain so cute :)
Beautiful! So much fun. I have so many questions about the strange eyeball things next to the 2016 dog tho!
You can mail me a police dog if you like. I had one years ago and would just love another one. Mine took care of me and my girls from any harm and I cried way over a year after she passed. Now I'm not young anymore I want another one to keep me and my husband safe . Not asking much am I ? LOL
The first dog shown knows he's "da man" ...with utmost respect for a tough job well done.
THIS IS A BRILLIANT IDEA. AND PROCEEDS GOING TO A NOBLE CAUSE, WE COULD SURE USE SUPPORT IN THE MENTAL HEALTH AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE FIELDS IN THE STATES. ALL CANINE UNITS SHOULD PARTICIPATE IN THESE THINGS! GREAT JOB.
Even the police in Canada are awesome!!! The US could definitely learn a few thing from them.
first of all they are all very very good doggos, so handsome and fierce. secondly it is for a very good cause, my mother died of breast cancer so I really could not appreciate this more. Thanks!
Previous years were adorable, but this year they seem to have really upped the badass level!!
I really want this, but just can't afford it at the moment! Amazing pictures!
What a great cause. I have to get one of these calanders. They are rocking their "Bad Assery" to the next level.
All these pictures are wonderful&the dogs outstanding in their beauty&presence! Police dogs everywhere should take note&sign calendars with paw prints to posterity! Good Dogs, one&all
Love the pictures, really showcases a police officers most epic moments.
I HAVE MONEY AND YOU CAN HAVE ALL OF IT (*throws armfuls of cash at the screen*)
They should have included this picture of a K9-in-training from a few years ago! LlYbyi0-5b...2ca0f5.jpg
I NEED this calendar!! But I just can't justify the shipping cost. T^T $35 for a calendar, regardless of the good cause and the beautiful doggos is just too much, when I can't even afford to spend it on a book I'd be able to use for work...
Not very observant are you? There is a woman on the cover of the 2019 calendar.
