19 Giant Flower Sculptures Honour Van Gogh At World’s Largest Flower Parade In The Netherlands
This year’s Bloemencorso Zundert, or Zundert Flower Parade, which we previously wrote about here, featured 19 teams who designed floats inspired by Vincent Van Gogh. The famous Post-Impressionist painter was born in Zundert, The Netherlands, 162 years ago, well before the parade was first held. Traditionally, the parade is run entirely by volunteers, uses only dahlia flowers, and is the world’s largest flower procession.
“In Zundert, in the South of the Netherlands, we are crazy about our flower parade,” writes the event’s website. “Our grannies and granddads started it in 1936 and we still can’t have enough of it. By the First Sunday of September the fever burns within us. Will the moving floats be finished in time? Are there enough dahlias? And who is going to win this time? Come to Zundert and share the experience!”

Awesome flower art! These Dutch artists must be impassioned to make these beautiful creations in Van Gogh style. I like them very much as I like the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh, one of my favorite artist.
I used to think that the Rose parade was the best ever, but this tops it by miles!
Impressive, but it's still no Tournament of Roses Parade, Pasadena. Headline is misleading. It isn't the largest floral parade. It only shows 19 floats. Pasadena shows 35+. That said, the floats at this event, still are breathtaking.
"world's largest flower para IN THE NETHERLANDS" understandable that it is misleading but only when read in that context.. ;) and yes.. it is beautiful!!! better in person =)
