Traveling and going on holiday during the pandemic is inadvisable because you risk catching and spreading the virus. So it’s fine daydreaming about your holidays, but you should postpone them until we’ve overcome this health crisis. "At Expedia, we believe in the power of travel: to create joy, to bring people together, to enrich our hearts and minds. The entire travel industry is experiencing an unprecedented increase in service requests from customers due to the overwhelming impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19)."
"We're really sorry for such long wait times due to the increase in call volumes. Every Expedia team member who can help is working to add more capacity, self-service options, and collaborating with many thousands of our global travel partners. Most importantly, we are focused on customers with travel in the next 72 hours," the Expedia representative told us.

Unfortunately, not all airline companies are the same when it comes to treating their customers well. For example, Ryanair has been accused of “ripping off passengers” when it became apparent it was charging 80 pounds more for some individuals to rebook canceled flights.
While Wizz Air was still charging passengers to rebook flights to Bulgaria and Hungary even though both countries closed their borders.
Ryanair has already grounded most of its flights and said it doesn’t expect to operate any of them in April or May. But in a surprise twist, the company will allow governments to use its airplanes for rescue and other flights. Ryanair told people not to call their customer support hotlines because they have less staff available to deal with the fallout.
Hopefully, everyone can get the refunds they deserve and we can all go on holiday when the coronavirus outbreak is suppressed. Let’s just hope our vacations then won’t be fails!

I Was In New York For The First Time In My Life
My wife and I spent almost 10 hours on a plane, crossed the Atlantic Ocean and flew 7,500 kilometres. We climbed the top of the rock to enjoy a view of Central Park. We had only one day in New York and this view will always be with us.
I visited the Hancock tower in Chicago one day. A local told a friend that just before we enter, we should look up to see if the top was clear or in a cloud :-D would never thought of that :-D

What you are seeing is the Elizabeth Tower formerly the Clock Tower. Big Ben is the largest bell and that cannot be seen.
looks like the same as my photo in 2018, i was so disappointed to go all the way to London to not see this iconic building there.
I took pictures of Big Ben like that; I figured someday this should be the more unique view.

I lived in Milan, Italy, for a year. Never once the scaffolding covering the entire facede was lifted!
Well if you went to London to see the Big Ben, then you did not do your homework. It is widely known, it's under construction right now.

Common mistake; the tower is not Big Ben, it's the Elizabeth Tower. Big Ben is the tower clock's hour bell (and not btw the biggest bell in the UK as many think). The clock plays the "Cambridge Chimes" (named after where they originated) which were then widely copied including here at Westminster.
That's not Big Ben. That's The Tower of London. The bell inside the tower is Big Ben. You're an American, aren't you?

This is called, check the travel info before leaving. Most tourist areas will list if a sight seeing attraction is under repairs or restoration.
Very few people have seen Big Ben, millions have seen Elizabeth Tower..
No you didn’t, “Big Ben” is the bell. The tower is St Stephen’s tower, now known as Queen Elizabeth tower.

10 Years Ago I Climbed The Volcano Of Bali "Mount Agung" 4 Am In The Morning To See The Beautiful Sunrise
It was the very end of a 9 months backpacking trip, and I skipped an important and beautiful scuba diving lesson to do it. I had to get up at 3 am for the drive to reach the base of the volcano. My best friend and only travel companion at the time was too lazy to join me, leaving me alone with a Balinese guide that knew not a word of English.
We reached the end of the road at around halfway up the volcano with ~1½ hours left of steep hiking on wet rugged rocks.
In silence, the monolingual guide and I accented, and the higher we went, the more I realised how grossly I had underestimated the freezing temperatures at the top of the volcano - Not wearing any jacket at all.
We finally reached the top 15 minutes before the sunrise, inside a dense and moist cloud, giving us with a visibility of 5-10 meters (16-32 feet) and our cloth and skin utterly soaked.

Travelers need to do their homework. Check the climate of the area you will be visiting, northern hemisphere best time is May to July, August is crowded. Southern hemisphere: Sept to Dec. South African Sept = Wild flowers, not too hot, most rain is over, no fog. I visited the UK halfway through April to early June, got super shots.Wales in May - Wales-26-5...bd2376.jpg 
Fog got me twice too. Went to CA from GA & took a tour of Alcatraz on a day that was rainy and foggy. Another time went back to Mount Palomar on motorcycle and was the foggiest day that I remember.
like the year l went to Roslyn Chapel..09..they were doing much needed work to the building/ceilings so you could not see them, the main reason for going to the chapel..the up-side was that they had scaffolding on the outside of the building that we WERE allowed to climb and see an angle that you'd never get to see again of the roof..l went again in 2017 and THAT time l got to see the ceiling..
My mom has been 2 London twice and both times Westminster Abbey was closed.
Comforting to know that these travel “ trip-ups” don’t just happen to me+ my family. Seeing such a multitude of stories w/ accompanying photo gives the episode a different spin.......( & somehow less tragic)

A lot of people work for years to be able to travel to a place they dream of seeing. So, I think they are allowed to be disappointed if they can't enjoy it right.

I'm going to get downvoted for this, but these kind of seem repetitive. It's "we hiked/traveled a long distance to see (insert famous icon here) and it was too cloudy". It seems that all but 5 pictures were like that.
