I Found An Abandoned Farmer’s House Filled With Vintage Stuff (27 Pics)
Deep in the woods of rural Maryland lies a house hidden and filled with secrets. A time capsule of a family long gone, this late 1800s farmstead is filled with creepy dolls, antiques, and family photographs. Antique cars are scattered through the thick grass, and in the barn sits an old buggy, all overcome by the elements of nature. Take a tour through the Farmer’s homestead.

The most recent book in the pics at least is from 1968; i would figure a half century of abandonment would lead to a lot more mold and water damage throughout. But the VCR and CRT TV in the living room indicate this place was last lived in sometime in the 90's or early 2000's. Also, in the photo of the skates, the vintage box of WP22 electric fence insulators is right next to some very newish paint/stain buckets.
Likely some seniors lived in the home until they died, and they had no family to even check in and deal with their stuff. It is very common for seniors to have the majority of their possessions be 30-40 years old, and then one or two new things. I think your assessment of it being abandoned in the early 2000's is probably correct. There would be more structural damage/rot if it had been longer.
Load More Replies...pristine curtains and books. Newer medicine in the cabinet and an absolutely pristine wedding dress that just "happened" to be hanging there? I highly doubt it.
I don't know what you call "pristine" here. The place has clearly been ransacked by explorers and photographers before. You can be sure that the wedding dress was originally in a closet with the protective covering closed. Someone took it out to take a picture and didn't put it back. Another person took the dolls apart and put them everywhere.
Load More Replies...I looks like they just suddenly left, but why? Who would leave handmade quilts and family photos? I want the back story!
I'm guessing the resident was an elderly person who died and no one has done anything with the house. They may not have had close family.
Load More Replies...Did you research if it really is abandoned? It probably does belong to someone. A lot of these 'urban exploring' seems like B&E to me
Can't be that old - there's Coricidin HBP in the kitchen. that didn't come out until the late 90's-early 2000's.
Someone own that property, whether they haven't been there in years or not. What gives you the right to break and enter, and rummage around in their personal belongings?
You actually don't know that. Believe it or not, people die all of the time without anyone to inherit their property. Or a distant relative might inherit but doesn't care enough to claim it. Stop being a Karen.
Load More Replies...So strange - why did people have to leave in such a hurry? What happened?
"I found an old house and staged it with a bunch of stuff and then took pics to make it look creepy." Seriously what is it with these? Why does someone take the time to do this?
The walls are dusty, dirty, and peeling, but the curtains look like they were bought yesterday.
I wonder what happened and who much land that house is on and how much I could get it for in such shape
actually a lot of vintage collectibles in there. I'm sure the owners/heirs have plans for craigslist.
American Pickers would have a field day, especially with the vintage toys.
Load More Replies...Yeah, this was set up this way I have no doubt. Windows and blinds are clean, newer items in with old items....just doesn't make me a believer......
Exactly like my grandparents' home - items from the world's wars alongside USB flash drives and modern TV flat screen. They were also keeping stuff from their parents, which means from the 19th century. My grandparents were born in 1912 and died in 2011 and 2013 respectively. So nothing strange here, just people who lived through many generations and accumulated stuff.

Just so everyone knows. I don't read ANY comments. As there is always much hate in the comments here. So I'm sorry to disappoint. To all those that know that houses ARE left behind exactly as I capture them and appreciate my photography. THANK YOU. ❤️
the bookshelf with the red encyclopedias we had the same when I was growing up in the 60's. Brought back memories.. I love looking at old houses like this....
The patchwork quilt in the main bedroom without a mark on it. Still I found it interesting
There's a lot of evidence of various people visiting and messing around over the years - doll arms hanging out of the dollhouse, etc. Its sad though because it looks like it was a little old lady who had two adult children and the house was just abandoned in the 80s (there's a nice VCR and 80s style stereo). I wonder if her kids were forced to abandon it due to legal issues (mom owed taxes) or they just never showed up to collect her things.
I was born on 1960, and had that exact same dollhouse, so your timeline sounds about right, though I’d move the abandon time period forward, closer to Y2K, from the looks of some of the stuff.
Load More Replies...A random doll here and there does not equate to "filled with creepy dolls."
what creeps. they litterally just "decorated" their house with doll parts????
Agreed - the blue solo cups in the kitchen and very new box of Hefty garbage bags show something was happening recently
Load More Replies...some of the furniture looks nice and could be dated from the 1940's to the 1960's. The school photos of the girl and boy are in color so that would have been early 60's. A house left abandoned is always a heart breaker
It is very depressing and honestly it feels like an invasion of privacy of someone's lives. I've seen many photos of buildings in decrepitude. But most of those were hollow shells.
The old dollhouse, the patchwork quilt + bed would be the only interesting items for me as vintage buyer / seller. The rest is trash to burn.
Definitely staged. Look at the contents of the bathroom cabinet. The modern toothbrush with blue bristles and the modern package of what looks like panty liners or maxi-pads. LOL!
Not an American, here, but... The Amish hat seems coherent with the Amish cart outside, suggesting that an Amish family lived there. That doesn't quite align with the various electronic/electronic devices in the house, some with their cord still in the socket. This is not even staged, this is outright fake.
Looks more like a Pilgrim-styled hat for costume or ladies fashion wear. The Amish would not have large buckles especially with rhinestones.
Load More Replies...My country house was visited many times by tress passers, occasionally I go there to check on things and tidy up. The only things in bad condition are the front and back door. Guess who broke them.
Load More Replies...The title just annoys me somehow... "I found an abandoned house full of modern stuff" --- no sir, you found a normal occupied house. So yeah of course the stuff in it is "vintage" whatever that may mean.
The graphics quality i expect to see when i play the next Fallout game on the new xbox
Looks like classic trespassing. When will people stop dressing up their illegal activities as urban/abandoned exploration?
This house speaks to me. So much emotion there . how sad that the last person had no famiky. It tells you the famiky story in bits and pieces...very touching
