Mae Bua Chaicheun Is A Rice Farmer. Her Rice Paddies Were Destroyed By The 130 Million Liters Of Water Pumped From The Thai Cave In The Rescue Mission Of 12 Boys. Her Response: "Children Are More Important Than Rice. We Can Regrow Rice But We Can’t Regrow The Children"
Really didn't think that there would be repercussions like this. What an amazing woman - I hope you have many wonderful friends and family and are all supporting each other.
Absolutely. I hope her rice paddy is so abundant next year, she will have to have 12 times the help she normally has, just to harvest it all.

Why this story was not told to the world? We followed every moment of the rescue, but this was important, too.
I guess it was not that much sensationalizing story for media to publish it..

This was in the Netherlands and even received attention in the national news. I love this small country where these stories are the most important of the day.

James Harrison Who Has Saved 2.4 Million Babies By Donating Blood Every Week For 60 Years Making His Last Donation. He Had Rare Antibody In His Blood That Helps Protect Babies From Rhesus Disease
He saved my son!! If it wasn't for him both of us wouldn't have made it
Go donate! Maybe you have that antibody and you just don't know it yet.
This lovely man lives in my town. I can no longer donate anything, blood, or platelets due to a medical condition. I urge you to be like him! He found out as a kid after falling ill, and by total random chance that he had the anti-bodies. He had been given blood by someone else when he was ill at 14 years old I believe, and he and the doctors think THAT blood donation was what set the chain of events in action. Amazing guy. Please donate blood. It really really is life saving. I should know, I have had iron transfusions from donated blood.

Load More Replies...This Is Captain Black
This is Captain Black. He works at the live bait shop. I was watching him shoo away all the hungry pelicans, frustrated. “Damn birds, get out of here.” finally they dispersed. Then I hear him call out to someone named Albert. “Albert! Where are you?! Get over here!” I figured it was an employee. Then I see another pelican waddle over. I’m thinking he’s gonna get whacked. Captain black turns to him. “Hey Albert. Get some breakfast.” I notice that Albert’s beak is broken and he can’t compete with the other hungry birds. Capt black starts petting and hand-feeding him. “Don’t tell anybody, sweetheart.” Goddamn people can be the best
Aw, looking after the pelican with a broken beak. 'Don't tell anybody' and here you are on BP!!
As long as we don't tell the other pelicans then I think Captain Black would approve.
Load More Replies...this is great and heartwarming - i also hear that they can 3D-print part of missing and broken beaks to cure injuried birds too
Wonderful heart, I would be worried if our hearts were not touched by such kindness.
Load More Replies...Aw! So that's why he was shooing all the other pelicans away! Also, I love that he named him Albert!
That so amazing! I got to help a injured bird (Inthink it was kind of woodpecker with bright red chest feathers and a long beak) that got caught in a bush that’s next to our front walk way. The pour little bird looked like a cat got to it and was trying to get away. I carefully wrapped it up in a bath towel so as not to hurt it. I gave it as much love as I could, strocking the back of its neck and check area. Use an eye dropper to give it water to keep it hydrated. Called the Humans Society to see what to do with it, they said we couldn’t keep a wild animal. It was a Friday after 7pm so everything was closed until Monday. Unfortunately the pour little bird died on Saturday evening. We barred him under our big Oak tree in our back area. Making a difference one random act of kindness at a time. 💜
I am worried about the long term chances for the pelican. Can't someone make a prostate for the beak, I have seen it done before?
Awww, so sweet. Albert obviously relies on this lovely guy. So sweet.
Saudi Police Officers Handing Out Roses To Women Drivers (Today Is The First Day They Can Drive Legally)
The women actually need signed permission from their husband or male guardian to even be allowed to apply for a license, so for many women in Saudi Arabia, nothing has changed. The Saudi government is fooling no one with these warm and fuzzy pictures.
Load More Replies...Sunday, June 24, 2018. The first day of women driving legally in Saudi Arabia. On August 3rd, the Canadian foreign policy tweet saying " Canada is gravely concerned about additional arrests of civil society and women’s rights activists in #SaudiArabia, including Samar Badawi. We urge the Saudi authorities to immediately release them and all other peaceful #humanrights activists." led to the expulsion from the backward absolute monarchy of the Canadian ambassador and a host of other measures. What to say?
Sorry about all the arrests, beatings, et al....have a flower....we cool now?
And now they are pulling all their people from Canada after they were urged to release innocent political prisoners and women from their jails

This Guy, While Waiting For The Bus, Picked Up All The Trash Around Him And Put It In The Bin. Let’s Be More Like Him
Nice guy and yeah, we should be more like him, but if people could also stop throwing trash everywhere, this would be nice too ;)
I pick up trash all day at work that other people leave... my O’Reillys Distribution Center is disgusting! And my other co-workers always just walk right pass the trash (ie: shrink wrap pieces, random pieces of paper, broken pieces of pallets, etc.) I do it all day. But I have to do it. It bugs the c**p out of me to see it all over the floor. Plus some things can be considered a tripping hazard.
My father & I worked for O'Reillys retail (some years back), and the schedules do not afford for cleanliness, just sales. Corporate culture leads the charge, and the messiness is a symptom of bad management.

I’m Actually Crying. I Live In A Building With An Autistic Man Who Is Bipolar And Has Angry Outbursts. Last Week He Said Something Really Unkind. He Struggles With Understanding He’s In The Wrong And Apologising But He Gave Me This Today
Wonderful that he was able to make this connection when it is obviously so difficult for him. Be impossible not to forgive him I'm sure!
My son is autistic and prone to angry outbursts. He is very apologetic afterwards and I never take it personal. I know his brain doesn't process problems like other people. I'm glad this person was understanding. Sounds like Christopher is trying... :)
That’s so f*****g lovely. Good people make mistakes and do / say f****d up things sometimes. Sometimes what you do to make it right is wayyyyyy more important.
It is really hard for autistic people, let alone a bi-polar person with autism! So, this is just adorably sweet of him to do this. People with disabilities aren't always lacking in empathy, sometimes they just can't express it vocally due to the wiring of the brain overloading certain other inputs at the time. This is so sweet, his apology.
My grandson who is 6, Autistic, has outbursts as well. His 8-year-old sister doesn't understand why he "hates" her. When she says that, he cries and says sorry at least a hundred times. It is frustrating for us, can you imagine how frustrating it is for him? Always, stop and think before getting angry. Some people just cannot help it. You never know.

#FathersLoveNeverDies I have a piece that I made (in 1976) for my late Father that he had on his desk at Boeing for 35 years. After cleaning out some of his things from his house in 2012- I came across it and he had carved on the back “From the best daughter a Father could ever have”. He had never told me he did that, it sent me into uncontrollable tears for days. I’m getting choked up just typing this right now. I miss his so much.
When I was growing up, I never understood why parents actually liked the little things from kids, home made things, etc.. Now that I'm a mom, I can now say that these are the things we truly treasure. No amount of money could ever buy something that comes from the heart, or from the creativity of a loved one. Especially from your kid!
My Dad's Dog Rio Is 14 Years Old And Recently Went Blind. He Pats His Leg When He Walks And She Follows Him Everywhere He Goes. Mom Got Him The Perfect Shirt
my dog went blind, she would still go outside to do her business but sometimes she could lose her way back from the garden to the house and start whining. one of my cats would go fetch her, and give her directions by rubbing against her legs
My dog went blind and deaf - she managed amazingly well. She always knew where we were (smelly old humans) and loved to be on a long lead to run about on the playing fields. Miss her.
When I was a teenager we found a stray toy poodle, old and blind, who had been dumped on our street. Our Chihuahua would lead her around everywhere. She lived with us for about 5 more years before dying, but she was such a sweetheart. And she had to turn in circles before going outside, lol.
My dog went blind recently and I started saying "it's ok buddy" but in a weird minions voice. That is now his most trusted phrase and will follow me anywhere if I say it...get some weird looks though.
I also had a blind dog. He was so very old when he lost his sight and would wander off to places he never went before. Sometimes he would sit for a good half hour between the gate pulled next to the fence (gate was open) because he couldn't figure it out. Poor Little Bear now rests in heaven.

Giving him a knighthood equivalent would probably be a Presidential medal ... I seriously doubt Lebron would want that, at least for the next few years.... no one deserves to be name- called. "You Saved My Life. I Knew I Was Going To Die At That Shelter, But You Saved Me Today" - Dog, Saved From Euthanasia, Thanks His Savior
Many years ago, I did something similar. My parents found a dog about 5-6 years old in the middle of a Canadian winter, we couldn't keep her so they brought her to the SPCA hoping she would be claimed. I called every day, she was never claimed, then they told me she had tumors/cancer and would put her down. I said no, I'll claim her. I rented a condo, moved out of my parents house and got her. She lived until the age of 17-18 years, She was the best girl ever.
I am so sorry that happened. It is so sad when we lose our doggo friends. When you are ready, you go find yourself a new friend. There are so many rescue dogs in need.

Like in a pocket from a pair jeans you haven’t worn in a while. I found $20 in a pair a while back and I really needed it for gas.
Load More Replies...During my dad's final illness, I gave up my sold-out tickets to see Journey in concert to spend the evening with him in the hospital. I joked with him for the rest of his life that he "owed" me Journey tickets. Last week, my husband took me to see Journey & Def Leppard in concert (nosebleed seats, not near as good as for the last concert but I was estatic none the less.) I swear I felt my dad presence and I know he would have been proud of my husband for "paying the debt" since he couldn't.
I feel his father sent this clover ... it´s true Jean van der Merwe, he was blessed. :)

You bet it is and having supplies makes a student feel prepared and included. This country can well afford to rehab and build school buildings, provide supplies and equipment and all for the price of one or two aircraft carriers or fighter jets or the salaries of a lot of useless congressmen.

This list is worth saving and enjoying again and again. I cried every other one but #90 got me the most. Thank you for reminding us that people are good. We need each other.
after finding out there were layoffs at my job, i needed every single post and most of the great comments too! Thank you
What a misleading title! I was crying for almost half an hour while going through this list! Amazing photos, amazing people.
