Now that the world is returning to normal, many people feel like they cannot keep up with it. Unclear vaccination status, fear of catching the virus, record rates of unemployment, businesses going bankrupt and uncertainty about the future have added many layers to the stress. But whether we like it or not, life twists are unforeseeable, and it's just inevitable we have to find ways to cope with whatever it brings us.

My Foster Dog Had Never Been Indoors Before. This Is Her First Nap, On A Bed, In A Home

My Foster Dog Had Never Been Indoors Before. This Is Her First Nap, On A Bed, In A Home

Sundae was taken from a dog hoarding situation — one man had 16 dogs (and a deceased dog’s body) in his backyard. The dogs had access only to a junk-filled backyard and a garage for shelter.

We’ve had her for about a week and you would never know that she’s never been an indoor dog before. She’s totally potty trained, incredibly gentle and she’s very polite indoors. She loves to sleep as close as possible to me in bed — I think she’s just making up for 8ish years of zero affection.

“The first recommendation I would make to increase positivity is reflecting upon your self-esteem,” she said. Asking yourself questions like “Are you someone who works too hard because you think it’s expected of you and you are attempting to be perfect at everything all the time? Does this or similar behavior stem for some unconscious issue deep inside?” may be extremely beneficial in getting to know yourself.

“We all have our own little issues in worrying we’re not good enough or that we don’t matter. Working on this is so important, as if you have higher self-esteem, you are more likely to consider yourself worthy of taking time out to work on yourself. A higher self-esteem improves every aspect of your life so it’s worth the investment.”

According to Lynn, developing a sense of gratitude is another way to improve positivity. “Thinking about ten things every morning on the way to work that I am thankful for really helps lift my positivity and also remember that it could always be worse!”

This, this is why the media preoccupation with sport drives me insane. No sports person is a hero or even role model in my estimation so overblown and disproportionate has their place and pay in our society in all first world countries been in my lifetime. The true heroes to admire and teach our children to look up to as role models are people like these. The first responders in our communities. The Paramedics, fire-fighters and police, the emergency services workers, the doctors and nurses and others who run to to those in need and distress and life threatening situations every day without much thought of their own possible trauma or outcome. They do what they believe what they must do and some go that extra mile also. Some of them, most of them, are scarred for life. And yet they would do it all again if given the choice. These people are our heroes. And we need them. They deserve our respect and gratitude and love.

Wow. How thoughtful. I had a cousin almost die from a miscarriage. She started bleeding at home, what saved her was that her husband happened to be there and called for help. Thank God their young daughter wasn't there to see it. When he got back home the next day, he found that some of the 1st responders stayed behind to clean up the blood. They didn't want him to have to deal with it, esp. after they saw the pics of the family. And yes, cousin survived.
