Cat No One Dared To Touch Finally Found A Human Who Hugged Him
250Kviews
Valentino was the unfortunate cat no human would touch, and for many reasons. The kitty’s fur was hardened and riddled with grime. His eyes were shut from being too caked and swollen for him to see anything. On top of that, the poor thing suffered from sarcoptic mange, a condition that is highly contagious to both cats and humans. But when Elaine Seamans passed by Valentino’s cage at the Baldwin Park animal shelter last week and heard his cry for help, she knew what to do.
“He reached out with his little paw and made the tiniest meow,” Seamans tells The Dodo. “It was like he was screaming without verbalizing it: ‘Please help me’… There are times when it’s not an option to keep walking,” she adds. “You just have to stop. This was one of those times.” The woman pressed the kitty directly to her heart, and she wasn’t even wearing gloves.
“When I picked him up, he put his little head on my shoulder,” Seamans says. “That was it. I had to get him out.” The rescuer contacted Toby Wisneski from Leave No Paws Behind, who took the kitty to the vet. There, he is getting the medical care he needs. They hope he will make it and be ready for adoption soon.

Load More Replies...Because it's not really a shelter. It's a county facility where people dump their unwanted animals or where unwanted animals are found wandering the city and brought here. Sadly, Most don't make it to adoption and the city has to euthanize them. Taxpayers won't pay for vet care for something that's going to be put to sleep in a few days. This cat may get lucky most don't.
Load More Replies...I am not a cat person but this little one, omg, my heart!! I am so thankful there are those who love these guys and take such care of them no matter their state. Who could pass by and not want to do whatever it takes to take some of the pain away from a living thing no matter how so called untouchable they appear.
My heart breaks when I see these innocent creatures suffering from the abuse or neglect of humans. Spay and neuter your animals! Thanks to loving people who rescue these poor animals. I hope Valentine's story has a happy ending. But for some sorry animals, euthanasia would be a blessing.
Don't get me started! Anyone who points out any downside to spay/neuter...well, find me one! I see NONE other than breeders, and they should be carefully controlled. People just do not realize what an intact kitty goes through, both male and female. Females can get pregnant at about 4 mos. old. So they have a litter. If she's a street cat, she tries to feed herself and her kittens. Males take great risks to get w/the females and fight, or risk motor vehicle trauma. The female, who is not spayed, is DRIVEN my those hormones to get w/the male. So here we go. We add a few more kittens in a couple of months. IT IS WRONG! So tell me about any downside you see to spay/neuter? Oh, you will keep you kitty indoors, huh? Do you know how quick that kitty can be. Door dash the minute you open the door! Crack in the window. My door was cracked where I didn't shut it all the way when I left the house one day. Did not even realize that our kitten Calli was IN heat. We had a litter 2 mos. later.

I would have reached out too poor little munchkin looks in absolute agony it's about time laws on responsibility towards our animals are tightened across the world.
More animals are put down for treatable reasons due to financial reasons. I took a feral cat who was living in the woods behind my house to the vet who had a large growth on his face. They said it was due to feline leukemia and it was a tumor that had grown so large it ruptured. They wanted to put him to sleep, I gave him cannabis oil and the tumor fell off. Now, 19 months later he is fine and one of the best cats I have had the pleasure of knowing. Did I forget to mention he started talking??https://www.boredpanda.com/cancer-treatment-with-cannabis-oil-resulting-in-a-talking-cat/
Oooh ... que de tendresse et d'amour émanent de cette sublime photo, ce pauvre chat a enfin trouvé une Épaule pour se REPOSER
I'm a big ol' sucker, and would do the same thing. Elaine Seamans is an angel. Prayers for Valentino's recovery. We have room if he still needs a home. Checking out FB now ...
Valentino, you are so beautiful inside and out, a bit of tenderness and care and your glory will shine through.
Good for her! Obviously, a lot of people didn't have the heart --or the guts -- to touch the poor cat.
