It is completely okay to have different opinions about music or food or anything else for that matter. It is also normal to not agree with one another. But there are some people in this world, who may have gone too far with their opposing views or are just trying to get on everybody's nerves. Recently, people on Twitter started sharing their unpopular music opinions, and some, while weird, are still acceptable, for example, standing by their love of country music. But then there were some who's opinion are simply outrageous, from calling the Beatles overrated to saying all rap music sucks, these people are definitely trying to stir up some arguments, and well, they succeeded.

I prefer video game/film music, I find it stimulates my imagination and is often well composed (John Williams especially)

Both songs with lyrics and instrumental songs can be immensely powerful!

The whole reason that it's popular is because a lot of people like it. You shouldn't be shamed because you're adding on to the list of people that like the song

I hate elitist fans who pretend they're somehow better because they liked something earlier than someone else

Yep... that's unpopular all right. And, FWIW, just because it's unpopular doesn't mean it's wrong... doesn't mean it's right, either

I loved MCR :) and no, I wasn’t emo growing up, I was actually a tomboy into football and stuff. I kept my love for them quiet haha.

Totally! And that's quite funny to read because today I was talking with my bf about them and how great they are despite all those nasty and childish comments people were spreading since they appeared. It's such a shame, I'm pretty sure that if someone else would record "the Black Parade" album people would go crazy, but MCR? Nah, they're just another sh*tty emo band, why should I even try to listen how much they've grown? Those Queen vibes are priceless, come on. And yeah, that’s truly an unpopular opinion, my comment will probably be downvoted, but I’m ok with that. Cheers to all MCR fans who are reading this anyways ^^

That (sadly) happens with alot of things. Ex. Spring Awakening would have been a revolutionary musical if it hadn't been overshadowed by other musicals such as Hamilton, Heather's, Dear Evan Hansen, Be More Chill, Phantom of the Opera, Les Mis etc. (Not that all of these musicals aren't amazing, which they are)

Their music is not even actually emo music... they were just very theatrical and at times dark.

I hated that WHOLE emo movement in music. MCR, Hawthorne Hights, AFI, Fallout Boy, etc. It wasn't because they were emotionally or whatever, it was because i couldn't tell them apart. Like they all sounded the same. All those bands were so heavily commercialized it was ridiculous. I also dont like them because they took the rock out of rock genre. Image Dragons is not rock! They're pop with a slightly rougher sound.
