It is completely okay to have different opinions about music or food or anything else for that matter. It is also normal to not agree with one another. But there are some people in this world, who may have gone too far with their opposing views or are just trying to get on everybody's nerves. Recently, people on Twitter started sharing their unpopular music opinions, and some, while weird, are still acceptable, for example, standing by their love of country music. But then there were some who's opinion are simply outrageous, from calling the Beatles overrated to saying all rap music sucks, these people are definitely trying to stir up some arguments, and well, they succeeded.

I prefer video game/film music, I find it stimulates my imagination and is often well composed (John Williams especially)
True, and people even fail to admit how good a singer Chad Kroeger is. Such a shame.
Load More Replies...Just what I though, not too fond on them, but never thought they were terrible.
Hard disagree. They definitely aren't the WORST, but they have a very generic "samey" sound to them. I don't hate them, but I never listen to them. Honestly, most of the hate seems to be "memey" now that I'm much more bothered by people who react to that hate with "NO THEY ARE GREAT AND I LOVE THEM SHUT UP".
Maybe because the general opinion of their sugar-coated formulaic c**p is that its the worst in the world.
Load More Replies...Dave Grohl was pure gold when he said "If you listen to nickelback backwards, you'll hear satanic verses. Even worse, if you play normally, you'll hear nickleback"
No, everyone hates them because they suck. They have some of the most terrible lyrics put there, and I cringe every time I'm forced to listen to it.
Wow, a lot of brave people from Nickelback anonymous here. You have my sympathy. I hope you fully recover soon.
i don't hate nickleback. just the singer. he's too stuck up and thinks he's better than everyone else in music. the rest of the band is actually really talented
Thank you, been a fan of them for years and am a die hard fan. Yes there are songs that aren't all that great but you don't have to be so mean to them.
When i was little, there was a certain song by them called "Gotta be somebody" 11 years later, and i still love it
Thank you. Now you made me feel old. I follow Nickelback since "Silver Side Up".
Load More Replies...Trust me, people hated them before the general population was internet literate. 2002 was the first time I heard a room full of people trash their songs. They didn't fit in with the early naughties indie movement.
I love Nickleback. People who claim bands songs doesn't usually aound similar to their other ones are twats.
I won tickets to a Cowboy Junkies concert once. Nickelback opened. They were awful. Their music had no rhythm. They are the whitest band ever.
Singing their lyrics at the top of my lungs when they're on the car radio. Their music is catchy AF. Wouldn't say they're great but they're great at making catchy tunes.
No, Nickleback truly are awful. I came to that conclusion without the help of the internet.
I always used to blast them from my room, yeah a lot of their songs are similar but I still love them
I like a few songs, they can play very well, Chad has a very good voice (even still), but the lyrics...the lyrics are terrible!
I can say they are not very diverse by any means...but my son took a strong liking to them and we saw them in concert 2017 and I must say it was an awesome show! I've been to many many concerts in my day...I am old/middle aged. I wasn't too thrilled to go see them, but they really impressed me. Daughtrey (who opened for them) on the other hand, I cannot say the same.
i"m not a fan, but the extent to which the band is hated has become absurd.
Deadpool will straight jack you up if you diss on Nickelback: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7aGXNQ-3EQc
Nickleback is officially the 11th best selling band in history. Since 2005 only Adele has sold more records, well that and a Garth Brooks greatest hits CD. They are our generations Eagles, and just like my dad cusses every time Hotel California gets played, we aren't gonna escape Photograph in our lifetimes.
i like Nickelback, but i've only heard a few of their songs. don't care that people think all their songs sound the same--there are a lot of artists that also create cookie-cutter music. if you like it, you like it. don't let other people dictate your taste in anything.
I liked a couple of their songs. I'm not hardcore, and if I tease someone about Nickelback I do it in jest - not a real tease. Chad's song for Spider-Man still kicks a**e.
Absolutely. I just dont care about them but its very cool to hate them, while there are so many worse bands around.
I thought they were pretty good pop rock - not deep or anything, but fun. Of course, I liked Styx too, but didn't realize until the 2000's that they were considered horrible.
I love Nickelback, Keanu Reeves, and socks with sandals...because you all hate it.
So your dream would be fulfilled if the soundtrack for the new John Wick had Nickelback on it, which you could enjoy while watching the movie at home wearing socks with sandals?
Load More Replies...Bruh! I loooove Nickleback. I don't understand why everyone hates on them.
I actually really like Nickelback and I don't see how every single song of theirs sounds the same, I can differentiate all of their popular songs very easily.
I like Nickelback and think this statement is very true. Get off the bandwagon and just enjoy the music.
Everyone should be allowed to listen to what kind of music they want! There's garbage modern music and there's garbage music made in the past
When will we learn music and any kind of art is, in most cases, subjective? Yeah, there are really lots of examples of trash out there, but, once again, is my opinion, my taste in music.
More than a third of the listed bands/singers and/or their music are completely unknown to me. I feel so old now :(
I am still in school and I dont know these people...gaaaaaaah
Load More Replies...Today's music is DOODOO!!! Everybody on the radio these days sounds the same, you can't even tell the difference between them. Alessia Cara or Halsey? Khalid or Post Malone? Every singer on the radio has the same voice and it all sucks. This generation of rap-inspired doodoo music with overused topics needs to die.
yah. not everybody wants to hear about singer's breakups in an annoying fashion
Load More Replies...If all you sing/rap about is your riches, you're an a*****e singer and I refuse to listen to you.
Metal and many of of its sub-genres are underrated. It's difficult to find another genre that requires the technical skill of metal musicians; let alone getting upwards of 5 talented people in your act coming together perfectly.
Pop music nowadays are overly polished & not enough soul or lost its raw form!
Music was something that just gave you a feeling of contentment. Not a whole lot of true talent now and seldom write their own music. Throw in a few profanities, screw someone and take someone out and you have a "song". There is still true talent out there but if they don't have that whore or gangsta persona it is not reaching the kids in today's society. What is with the frigging tattoos on the face? How stupid is this?
My weird opinion: electro can be pretty good. Mixed with industrial metal . . . Goodness! I don’t mean light dubstep. I honestly am not a fan of rap myself. Most of it that’s popular is just . . . *oof*. But to each their own!
All of the comments saying "X is overrated" are true - even the Beatles! I say this because there are so many bands out there just as (or, occasionally, nearly as) good that never "make it" and almost nobody ever hears about them. It's like Harry Potter - good books, 4-7 are great even, I loved the series. But why did they become so beloved when there are books out there just as good or better that never went mainstream? So yeah, the Beatles are great, Harry Potter is great, but they're still over-rated because 99% of bands and books are under-rated. :)
I don’t think that make Harry Potter overrated, it just makes the better but less popular books underrated.
Load More Replies...I can't stand Christina Aguilera's singing voice or Ariana Grande's...Christina does annoying a*s "runs" too much and I don't like her tone, and Ariana is too breathy and mumbles too much. I can never understand what she is saying.
Christina is a very good singer. I think Ariana is as well, people conflate her annoying personality with her musical ability.
Load More Replies...Will totally agree with the facts of Beyonce songs being overrated and Beyonce herself.... Also cardi b songs aren't just it ... songs now are just about drugs, sex and shiity things 🤷🏾 ...thats the only reason why cardi b won the Grammy's award🤦🏾
Songs have been about drugs and sex since the 1950’s. Grow up, little girl.
Load More Replies...I listen to black metal but because I have lots of tattoos (someone actually once said to me "you have your fingers tattooed, you clearly don't listen to 'nice' music") and wear mostly black, people assume I'm a music snob but as I'm writing this, I'm listening to Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys and before that I was listening to Bone Machine by Tom Waits. If I like it, I like it. I know a lot of people who only listen to one genre of music and refuse to listen to anything else; it takes the joy out of music completely.
Fellow metaller here, put that b******t Beach Boys away and listen to Nattefrost now, burning churches, corpse paint etc etc.

Y'all should listen to Nico Collins. He's super talented but also super underrated. He should have a Grammy.
The trend of celebrities all coming out with music despite not being famous for singing is stupid because they can’t actually sing but fans will buy it anyways
I am still being teased 25 years later for being a Hanson fan! They've continued to make misic.
All of the people saying they don't like any current music, there are lots of artists that you might like if you don't just stick to mainstream. There are so many local/smaller artists out there. I didn't 'discover' music until in my mid 20s because all I heard was mainstream and I just tuned out (though I did like a bit of the 'golden oldies). Then I was living with my brother and he had a local station on all the time and it just clicked. I didn't dislike music, I just hadn't heard anything that was interesting.
My top fav songs: Savage Love, Watermelon Sugar, Just Let Me Adore You, Blinding Lights, Dynamite (not the popular one).
Everyone saying emo is stupid It's not okay? Get that through your pea sized brain
The only thing more annoying than mainstream music and it’s fans are people who go out of their way to make a show of not liking it. Like, your bookish gamer nerd persona and the the music that goes with it is so trite that it might as well be mainstream too. Most of the comments here are just taking the contrarian position to the mainstream standard. No actual individual thought at all. They end up just being a different kind of mainstream. Not trying to be holier than thou, I just don’t know how else to put it.
I find it hilarious that even on posts meant to be open to opinions we still get so many hidden submissions
Downvotes just mean people disagree. I don't see how being open to opinions and disagreeing with them are exclusive

I'm shocked that TJler hasn't said something negative yet. Poor dude. Don't hate on him, he hates himself already.

Like Bryan is the worst singer ever. He's banned from playing in my car.
What? Why are we just posting a bunch of opinions about something as subjective as music?
All religions have a tenet equivalent to treat others the way you want to be treated. That begins with respecting people's personal tastes. Whatever music you enjoy is what you enjoy. I don't need to think about it or comment on it.
I agree. They're saying that "so-and-so sucks" but then not giving a reason and it's annoying and stupid as heck

Phil Collins blows. Kelly Rowland is better than Beyoncé. Just because you can make your lyrics rhyme doesn't make you a rapper. Auto-tune ruins every song it's used in. Playing sound effects to a rhythm is not music. Justin Timberlake did not improve when he went solo. One Direction were god-awful, and their solo stuff is as bad, or worse.
I once went to a birthday where I only really knew the birthday girl. I talked to some people about music, and told them I always switch radio stations when I hear either Coldplay or Ed Sheeran.
