United Airlines Passenger Films How Terribly They Handle Luggage, And It Escalates Quickly

You know how sometimes people call airport baggage handlers ‘throwers’? Well, this video proves that that’s exactly what they deserve to be called.

Shared by Reddit user TwoPointZero_gpa, the video captioned ‘Thanks United [Airlines]’ reveals how peoples’ luggage is literally thrown around when being transferred off the airplane. One user (Timett_son_of_Timett) even identified his own blue suitcase in the video, which explained why he had received such a damaged bag after his flight. Another passenger (MoreLikeFootHills), who flew a week before this video was taken, also had a blue suitcase that was damaged by the “throwers”. Now people can’t help but wonder, does United Airlines have something against blue luggage? Keep on scrolling to check out the pics!

Someone just shared a video revealing how United Airlines handles peoples’ luggage

And it didn’t take long for the blue bag owner to appear

Update: Turns out  Timett_son_of_Timett made a mistake and it wasn’t actually his bag in the video, so the owner is still unknown! Maybe it’s you?

What we now need is the law that all electronic devices from any destination must go into checked baggage...after that, you finally can skip taking a trip by plane.

I will cancel my offer and ask bored panda to send you not only one panda, but twins; in solidarity with misunderstood jokes (european humour?). With this one (who was really good/bad^^) i got haters even that your response showed that you understood/appreciate it. A lot of people don't seem to understand "second degree humour", offbeat humor. Let's joke about sex, poop, pee, disabled people, fat people and every people in a state of weakness like "normal" people instead of being smart for panda sake!

Stupid ... it`s not United Airline who`s responsible for the loading/unloading ("does United Airline has something against blue lugguage " ). It`s the airport !

The airport may employ the loaders, but the airline is responsible for your luggage. That's just basics: you give them your luggage, they need to take care of it. They are then also responsible for making sure the airport handles the luggage with care.

Who wants to fly airlines from the US anyway? In terms of service and a human touch there are much better airlines these days...and they definitely are not US based!!

This is not unique to United, nor is this news. Baggage handlers rank up there with UPS delivery guys for lack of f***s given for the condition of packages in their charge.

I don't think there are any good airlines anymore, especially if you're a musician carrying instruments. :(

Two bags falling off of a conveyor belt is "terrible" baggage handling?

It sounds more and more as though United Airlines is the company to avoid. I'll be traveling to the States in September, and I specifically asked my travel agent to book with ANY airline BUT United. I'll be flying American Airline.

I watched out the window of my plane many years ago (different airline) and the handler loading bags onto the belt feeding into the plane was lifting every bag as high as he could and slamming them down onto the belt. You would think someone would want to put LESS effort into this work... I dunno, maybe he had a bad morning.

Are you all aware that this due to either poor work ethic on the Ramp Agent's end, or a lack of employee moral, and not the entirety of the Airline's crew. Before you go and make arguments and upset commentary over a piece of luggage, just remember the Airline, in question, offers insurance to you upon the checking of bags, all in part due to the disgruntled employees they have yet to reprimanded. If you are so concerned about the safety of your luggage that perhaps you should do your part in protecting it, and maybe focus on the fact that you calculated your risks when you have purchased, and stowed away items in that bag. If anything you are too blame, completely.

This is a load of c**p. The baggage loader/unloader in the video is a new kind called a "jetbridge belt". These have only recently been installed in a few airports worldwide and have been prone to failure. This is not United's fault, but the airport's. Additionally, I will ask why some comments that I have read are bashing United on their "human touch and service". I would like to prove you wrong using the video itself. First, how does a faulty baggage conveyor belt have anything to do with human touch whatsoever? And second, notice the luxury SUV parked about 20 feet behind that is yes, actually used to carry first class passengers to their flights. Lastly, I feel that yo dumb liberals have no leg to stand on when scrutinizing airlines and more specifically, boycotting them. This is due mainly in part to the fact that you will literally always pick the cheapest option when booking a flight, regardless of the airline, because you are all so strapped for cash.

ALL airlines do this to checked luggage. This is nothing new. I haven't checked a scrap of luggage in over 15 years. This might change if (it's not a rule now) electronics have to go into checked luggage, but there are cases designed to hold computers, etc. that make it next to impossible to damage the contents. ..... The question no one's answered is did anyone stop to think about all of those lithium batteries in an unpressurized hold and what could happen? Those things have a tendency to burn.
