Thoughts constantly swirl around in our heads. From when we open our eyes in the morning until we close them at night (and sometimes, even after that), there's always something for us to contemplate about.
In fact, a 2020 study suggests people typically have more than 6,000 thoughts per day. That's a lot. And as much as we'd like to believe otherwise, not all of them are brilliant. So with social media allowing us to instantly share whatever crosses our mind, we broadcast quite a lot of funny, weird, and infuriating personal takes, too.
To illustrate just how random our statements can be, we at Bored Panda put together a new publication on the subreddit whose sole mission is to capture the chaotic side of human interaction. Continue scrolling to check out its latest finds and fire up our earlier piece on it when you're done.

This Would Be The Greatest Irony
To learn more about our inner filters, we contacted Phil Reed, D.Phil., who is a professor of psychology at Swansea University.
"There are many reasons why people overshare," Dr. Reed told Bored Panda. "A lack of awareness about the dangers is one, but also the lack of 'real' social feedback online is a big contributor. Since there is a degree of anonymity, certain a lack of immediate feedback, people tend to get it wrong in terms of sharing."

Load More Replies...I'm vaxxed and boosted, and still ended up in the hospital yesterday. Severe shortness of breath, 3 weeks after I tested positive! I was seriously so close to death. The paramedics said my oxygen was dropping so low, I was in danger of having a heart attack. The doctors and nurses seemed pleased that I was vaxxed. 6 hours later, I walked out with a huge smile on my face. It was the breathing treatment, made all the difference. They couldn't even believe it, said they were sure I'd be admitted when I walked in. If I'd known that, I would've just gone to my doctor and avoided the hospital. My CT scan showed some crunchies and mucous in my lungs, so still not 100%, but from the way I felt 24 hours ago, to the way I feel now, it's just amazing. Can't imagine how bad I would be without being vaxxed. You never know how bad it's going to hit you, so please please get vaxxed and listen to your body when it's time to go to the hospital. It still scares me how close to death I truly was.
Eugh. So sorry that happened to you, but I'm glad you're ok
Load More Replies...Indeed. Or yet better, dedicate a hospital with staff and patients who are all anti-vaxx, anti-mask etc. Let them sort it out between them.

Load More Replies...Or ... those who refuse to participate in the drug trial (or so-called vaccine) trust their own immune system over media hype, bullying and pseudo-scienctists who play along. Can you say thalidomide?
There is a certain “I just can’t care” about their reasons for not getting vaccinated. When they’re my patient I will always try my best for them.
But it does taste sweeter. Like a guilty pleasure treat
Load More Replies...The worse oart is they gi to hospital, then argue with doctor over treatment. Some have tried sueing to get hospital to treat with what they believe is the correct medicine.
And yet they would have been the once screaming "burn the witch", but today use essential oils to treat everything?
Load More Replies...I hate to do this, but I do agree. People died. If you're going to be anti-vax, you really shouldn't be in the hospital. It's a simple choice to make. You won't help yourself, but you want others to help you.
I didn't get vaccinated and got COVID in January 2021 got over the sniffles and never went to the hospital wasn't that bad had stuff delivered when I was sick and actually lost weight because I didn't like that food didn't taste good so I got healthy food I normally don't eat because it usually tastes bad but couldn't taste it and I've actually been losing weight ever since because of two weeks of better eating habits
TAKING SENSIBLE PRECAUTIONS IS, BY DEFINITION, SENSIBLE YOU GIBBERING OAF
Load More Replies...Vaccinations for Covid don't work. If you want to die then go to the hospital and they will happily give you the wrong treatment and put you on a ventilator and get reimbursed for their expenses from the government. And they will keep your family from coming near you as you breathe your last breath, alone.
Anti science dribble that ignored reality. Enjoy your tent.
Load More Replies...Are you serious? They’ve been testing coronavirus vaccines FOR YEARS. The coronavirus family of viruses existed before 2018, sweetie.
Load More Replies...What's hateful about asking why people who don't trust doctors trust doctors? It's clearly a paradoxical position to hold.
Load More Replies...What does this have to do with anything? And no, that girl would go to the regular hospital where they treat the women who’s forced high risk pregnancy is putting them and the baby at death’s door.
Load More Replies...Well, if I'm still alive in 20 years then I would say that the vaccine did it's job.
Load More Replies...However, even though the reasons why people overshare may vary, the act itself seems pretty much universal. Also, researchers from The University of Edinburgh and Northwestern University in Illinois found that the risk of oversharing in conversation actually increases as people age.
When testing 100 people from 17 to 84 years old on their attention skills, the researchers discovered that the older subjects provided listeners with more irrelevant details than their younger peers. As this behavior can be dangerous — older people, for example, might accidentally reveal private info to strangers looking to take advantage — this finding is essential in helping "design targeted training that helps older adults improve these skills and avoid embarrassing and potential risky communicative errors,” said lead researcher Madeleine Long, of the University of Edinburgh's School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences.

Yep
I feel the same about these appeal shows that they have on TV. Lots of celebrities virtue-signalling about how they are working the night for free as they try to guilt you into donating part of your rent to charity. Don't get me wrong, we give to local charities when we can afford to and they do some brilliant work. But I will not tolerate some rich TV star trying to make me feel guilty about keeping a roof over our head and food on the table. Furthermore, and this bit is horrible but it needs telling, a poor elderly lady killed herself in the UK a couple of years ago because she couldn't afford to give to every appeal directed her way. Every penny she had was sunk into charity appeals and when the money ran out she felt so bad that she had to end her life. Literally killed by kindness.

Dr. Reed said people should be very wary of oversharing. "It can compromise personal security, and personal safety, as well as lead to bullying."
"It can also make people very vulnerable psychologically; if they are feeling low, overshare to get support, and are attached for it, then depression can set in."

This Is How Ya Do It
To keep ourselves in check, Dr. Reed suggests treating communication on the internet the same as in real life.
"Remember, online is just as much of a social interaction as in the real world," he said. "Do not share anything online that you would not in real life. People can get a little impulsive with their digital interactions, so just remember that. Perhaps count to 10 before sharing."

But if you are bothered by another person who starts to give you too much information, psychotherapist Amy Morin says your first line of defense should be to change the subject.
For instance, try saying, 'Sorry to hear that. Have you heard the weather for tomorrow?' Sometimes people will take the hint, but you may need a more direct approach if the other person continues to overshare.

because republicans believe obviously that women's political opinions don't count but women are merely there to reproduce, as per the recent RvW judgment
The key in such situations is to not reciprocate. Just because your boss tells you she's going through a divorce, that doesn't mean you need to tell her about your marital problems as well.
While sharing your personal stories can be empowering, you should do that at the right time, in the right place, and with the right people.
