Instead of placing garbage cans around this beach, the city made a giant see-through fish out of some barbed wire and meshm and added a sign that says "Goby loves plastic, please feed him". Kids love feeding Goby, who is usually full by the end of the day, and taken away by the city.

One of the life skills I taught my son was how to arrange flowers. Every girlfriend he's ever had thanks me as he makes sure I get the credit.

For years I've mad it a point to find out if the men in my life like flowers and if you I will get them pretty bouquets on birthdays and such. Most never get flowers, because apparantly "we" don't do that for men. Every single one always comments on how nice it is and how they love getting them and how they wish they had the guts to gift their guy friends flowers
My fiancée loves gardening and I used to love helping her in the garden. We didn't have much laid out in the garden but when I wasn't able to help any more after my heart failure. I gave her £20 a week to buy seeds and plants and once a month £50 to get something nice. We call it a Flower Allowance. I came home from a hospital appointment to a garden bristling with flowers in planters and a muddy but happy Baba (I call her Baba). Turns out she was using the money to get things together at her parents, and they planned it all for over a year. She still gets her Flower Allowance and I get a garden full of pretties. I also bring her drinks and food while she is working on the garden too.

My mum buys her partner flowers coz he likes them as much as she does. My hubby on the other hand is not a flower person and would probably laugh and say “where’s my fishing gear” if I bought him flowers lol.
It’s the thoughtfulness of it. If anyone did it for you, you’d feel happy they cared for you in that way. Nobody actually cares that much about the organic flower matter. It’s just the sentiment.

Since we are telling wholesome stories, I got one: One day, heavy wind knocked a tree branch onto my apartment sidewalk. When I came home expecting to have to walk around it, it was gone. Turns out the short and small elderly lady who lives next door to me moved it all by herself. I plan to do something special for 🎄 for her for doing that.
I love it when neighbours connect :) I used to move a lot and never really knew my neighbours, but I've been in one house since my kid was born, and I've gotten to know my neighbours on either side: we can natter for hours, I come and fix technology things or do computer help, and they can watch my son on the odd occasion I need to pop out to get groceries and my kid is in bed etc. It is nice :)

My wholesome story: The summer before I went to college, I worked in the same manufacturing plant as my dad. One of the fork truck drivers, Rodney, was a big guy. Six foot six, 270+ pounds. Rodney had a tendency to get angry and yell. What did he tell about so much? He was angry that he was moved to second shift and he couldn't be home with his son in the evenings. His son was 14, had downs syndrome, and Rodney wanted to teach him how to swim.
