It’s a true powerhouse with more than 8.9M people who enjoy learning and sharing random bits of information. Like the fact that baking powder was born out of love or that aluminum is among the most recyclable materials ever created.

As the creators of Unbelievable Facts stated on their website, "What started out as a fun hobby turned into a full-time career." They created this page so that people all over the Internet would be able to resolve their random curiosities and quench that thirst for knowledge.
The project was started in 2012 by Gourav Gola, an engineering graduate, who wanted to "share his interests with the world, and the world responded just as enthusiastically". Since then, the project has been growing every day. Their goal remains the same as it was from the beginning—to bring the most remarkable stories to their fans and followers.
"Committed to finding and sharing the most fascinating facts, we create content around a plethora of topics—from science and entertainment to human history and society," the creators wrote. What sets Unbelievable Facts apart from other similar pages is their commitment to quality over quantity: "We always strive to provide you with the most authentic stories and facts. Our search for the truth requires us to spend hours on a single piece."
We humans are naturally curious—asking questions, finding something interesting, and encouraging others to explore it as well. According to a study by researchers at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, our information-seeking behavior is driven by the brain’s dopamine-producing reward system in the same way as money or food. In other words, our brain becomes addicted to information and wants us to seek it constantly.
“To the brain, information is its own reward, above and beyond whether it’s useful,” co-author of the study and associate professor Ming Hsu, Ph.D. told Neuroscience News. Research shows that our brain converts information into a similar scale as it does for money.
The paper focuses on studying curiosity and what it looks like inside the brain. The researchers scanned people’s brains while they were presented with a lottery with two financial outcomes, a gain and a loss. Participants were able to purchase information in order to find out the odds of them winning.
The results showed that most of the participants made rational decisions but they over-valued information in general. People wanted to know more not only because it benefited them, but also because they expected it to have benefits. "Anticipation serves to amplify how good or bad something seems, and the anticipation of a more pleasurable reward makes the information appear even more valuable,” Hsu said.

I (F) , was once called the "man" of the office by my male supervisor. This happened over Radio dispatch ( all drivers could hear the conversation.). I was 100% fed up with his sexual harrassment ( made comments about my boobs). So my reply ... " well I guess I am more man than you, so it does fit.". He wanted to fire me so bad, but he had no real reason ( besides all the hvac technicians laughing at him), and my co-worker could barely put 2 words together. Not long after that, I walked out .

Imagine being so obsessed with someone you create a fan page for them before they are even famous. Honestly though, why would you dedicate so much time an energy on someone you dislike. I dislike people, I avoid and don't think about those people. It certainly has never occurred to me to spend my free time talking about those people or making a group about those people. Okay, just thought of one, Trump, I have joined anti-Trump groups but in my defense, that was because he was actively destroying the country I live in.

The most rotten thing about situations like this is, no matter how famous someone gets, how many oscars, emmy's, grammy's etc they win, the tons of fanmail and praise they get, some of those words still stick. You can tell someone they are beautiful a thousand times, but the one time you call them ugly/fat/not-good-enough is what they will remember forever

I'm the same age as Lady Gaga, and Facebook came out in early 2004, the year we both started college. It was initially only open to Harvard students but quickly expanded to other Ivy Leagues and colleges, including NYU. I joined Facebook with my college email address before I even started that fall. It is totally plausible that as an NYU student, she did too. Facebook was very popular from its beginning.

I don't think so. She was born in 1986, according to Wikipedia (and I'm going to bet that she's a few years older than that). That makes her 18 in 2004. Facebook was not a thing in 2004.
Yes it was. Facebook was launched in February 2004 and was only available to Harvard and then an expanding number of colleges starting with Ivies and some east coast and big name schools, including NYU. I'm the same age as Lady Gaga, started college in the same year as her at one of the schools that was included early on, and joined Facebook in 2004 before I started school in the fall. Facebook was popular from the get-go, so I have no doubt she and her bullies were all on it, too.
