This Mother Finally Gives Birth To A Girl After Having 10 Boys In A Row
Probably no one would argue that some of us like to stick to the plan at whatever cost and some of us would just rather go with the flow whenever possible. But, as the saying goes, man plans and God laughs. And despite one’s beliefs, probably all of us can find some kind of beauty in the surprises life brings us. This particular British family has probably had more of them than anyone else, especially when it comes to parenthood. But how else can it be living with so many children, they sure are in for a rollercoaster. Scroll down below to find out about their latest one!
This is the Brett family with their newest addition, a baby girl

After having her youngest son with quite an unusual name of Rothagaidh two years ago, Alexis Brett became the first Mom in Britain to give birth to 10 boys in a row and thought her family was complete. But it later turned out life had a little surprise planned for her and the whole family as well – a new addition. Therefore, just a couple of weeks ago, she became a mother of 11 just at 39 years old. She has spent more than 8 years being pregnant during the last 18 years of her life and is now very happy with her big family.
The girl is named Cameron and is the 11th child

After her long streak of boys, Alexis finally gave birth to a baby girl and decided to name her Cameron. The happy parents say she changed the family dynamics quite a bit with all the brothers being super attentive not to wake their little sister and being more well-behaved in general. This sure brings much joy to the parents, who say this last pregnancy was unplanned but did get them over the moon, as they expected it would be yet another boy after finding out about expecting another baby. The delighted mother adds that they are definitely stopping now. “There’ll be no more. I said that last time but this time, I absolutely mean it. I love my family as it is now.”
The first 10 being boys that are now aged from 2 to 17

The family is used to people commenting by now and not all the remarks are very pleasant. Alexis says, “Some people think we must be on benefits but we’re not. David has a good job, which means we don’t even qualify for full child benefit.” Her husband is a train driver and usually leaves the house around 5:30, leaving his wife to use the little quiet time she has in the morning before the kids wake up to enjoy her cup of coffee and a shower. Even though life is not easy being a mom to 11 kids as she has to do 49 loads of laundry a week and hoover seven times a day, Alexis plans to get back to work as a part-time fitness instructor in a few weeks.
After Cameron was born, the mom of 11 says she feels the family is now complete

Of course, it is not all sunshine and rainbows and Alexis admits to sometimes exchanging looks with her husband David and thinking, “What have we done,” but the kids always come up with something surprising then, melting the hearts of their parents and making it all worthwhile in the end.
And the Internet is slightly conflicted about their news

Share on FacebookIt's just utterly ridiculous in this day and age to have that many children.
So much breeding, this is why the planet is in collapse.
Load More Replies...She probably wouldn't be eligible. Suprising amount of rules around adoption.
Load More Replies...The dad tho he looks like he lost his will to live like 4 boys ago and they just kept sucking the life out of him each time she had another.
True but he could have done something about it, lol.
Load More Replies...I'm completely okay with letting people live their own lives as long as it doesn't negatively affect others, but that doesn't mean I can't shake my head in wonderment at the absolute insanity here.
People are upset because of the name Cameron; are we skipping over the fact that the youngest boy is named Rothagaidh?
Why are people so upset about that name, anyway? "After finally getting a girl you'd think it would be girlier", honestly she seemed pretty neutral about the gender. Much as the writers are playing up that angle, it doesn't sound like she thinks she "finally" got a girl at all.
Load More Replies...I'm surprised by some of the very judgmental comments on this post. I don't know why they chose to have so many kids, but it's really not my business, is it? If they are able to take care of them physically, emotionally and financially, then it's not my problem. Some people have no kids. Some people have one or two horrible ones. Some people can make 11 brilliant ones. Let's not rush to judgment.

Well, close. The father stands back with a catchers mitt.
Load More Replies...I can't believe how many people here are shaming this incredible woman. Obviously motherhood like this isn't for most people, and takes an insane amount of work and dedication, but I applaud her for raising such a beautiful family! Shaking my head at all the people criticising her and calling her ridiculous and saying she should adopt. Her family is big and beautiful.
I've grown up around many families this large, as a homeschooler myself I understand very well how demanding this kind of life can be, but I also know that with the right structure and support around her it con be an absolutely wonderful and enriched life. Maybe she has relatives who help out or maybe she hires nannies for the younger kids, who knows, but who are you to judge someone you don't even know?
Load More Replies...Sasha Albanese, you’re wrong. Dad earns good money as a train driver, and Mum’s a fitness instructor, returning to work soon. Don’t judge everyone by your own standards.
How in heck can she be thinking of “returning to work” even part time? What, is she going to make the older kids bring up the younger while she’s out playing? Because that’s what it will appear to the whole world that she is doing.
Load More Replies...After considering responses I just want to say: "That's stupid. You're stupid."
Ok, come on with all of this negativity!! I think this is beautiful. The family looks well put together, happy, maybe a bit tired and frazzled around the edges, but it's their family. If having a big family makes them happy, who the hell are we to judge?! They're not receiving government assistance, the kids aren't made out to be uncontrolled hooligans tearing the city apart. They're not harming anyone. Leave them alone and let them be happy! The mom doesn't look like she's falling apart. In fact, so looks soft, feminine, happy. The dad probably wore the same expression 1 kid in, and it hasn't changed 11 kids in. Leave them alone.
If at first you don't succeed, try try try try try try try try try try again
I understand the desire to have a lot of babies! Totally! I also think being a good parent is extremely important, and I think she is that. But things have changed in our world, unfortunately. With overpopulation, resource depletion and especially the climate crisis, having 11 of one’s own kids is irresponsible, in my opinion. And to express pity for the mother because she has no time, has to do so much laundry, etc. Why? She chose that life. She’s not doing the world any favours by having a large family. Also, why should it be a big deal that she can have babies? Whoopee. What an inane article.
I like that she's happy, but it's a really strange way to be happy, that looks like an obsession for me, or just pure - whatever thing. Whenever I see a mother having so much children I ask myself did she do anything outside of making those, being pregnant and giving birth? What a fulfilling life - to constantly look after and clean after a football team :D It makes me sad that some people never grow beyond their biological purpose of life and grow their own potential, but are just reproducing as much as possible... And let the hate and downvotes begin :)
There are many countries in which it is not unusual to have five or more children happily; my boyfriend is one of eight. What disturbs me is that so many people insist on "girly" names: are we still there, where we have to divide people by "acceptable" sex-oriented labels? And, as it happens, I did a search on the name, and its origin is, in fact, as a Scottish girl's name.
My mother finally had me after 4 boys. I personally would’ve given up after the second child, regardless of boy or girl. Gender is irrelevant.
any guy who breaks her heart is gonna get one painful a*s beating lmao
Hopefully the dad isn’t full of toxic masculinity ideologies and the boys then aren’t inculcated into it.

And do not pretend it wasn't their goal: "After Cameron was born, the mom of 11 says she feels the family is now complete." Complete, as in feeling fulfilled by a girl baby. This is disgusting. I don't give a c**p if the spermy the dad has a good job as a train driver. He could be HIT by one tomorrow and she'd be minus a paycheck. Selfish, irresponsible fools.
Not only a grotesque carbon footprint, but they look like a family of serial killers.
"After Cameron was born, the mom of 11 says she feels the family is now complete" Goodness....I would HOPE so.
I'm going to say what I know we're all thinking, but hope isn't true: I bet you could park a freighter in her buhginer. Lololol Good. Freaking. Grief. 10?! Really? Do they hide in there when it rains?
My grandparents did almost the same thing. Had six girls until they had my dad. FINALLY a boy they could name after my granddad. :P my mom has three sisters, so I have nine aunts and no (biological) uncles... :')
Who the hell produces 11 chidlren nowadays??? Our overcrowded planet is going tits up and a woman who lives in a country not only allows her to control her own body but also has free birth control pops out one after the other. God help any children in the middle if they actually have any issues/problems that need a certain amount of time or money to take care of!
There are plenty of child free families to balance it.
Load More Replies...So a happy couple has the family of their dreams, takes care of them on their own income entirely, and people can only comment heir own preferences for how many kids they think other people should have, or how to name their children? How about leave people alone to live their own lives and be happy? What's crazy is a lot of the same people will fight for "reproductive choice", but when the choice is different from their own (to have a large family), all of a sudden they come out criticizing and demanding that other people can't decide to get pregnant as many times as they want????
Everyone is so ready to jump on the wagon to bash this married mother and father for having so many children! That they are happy with and are taking care of as a family! But I don’t see anyone bashing these little tramps that have one baby after another with different fathers and depend on the welfare system to support them with all the aide they can freely get each time they pop out another one? Come on here!
Yay, another ignorant person spreading the “welfare queen” myth. Do some actual reading instead of getting your “information” from conservatives who hate the poor and want to stop paying their fair share into society.
Load More Replies...The 11th pregnancy surprised them ... WHAT? Didn't they learn anything? Anything? Why did she have so many children? Just to have a girl? Is she going to stop now? I think it it absolutely selfish to bring that many children to the world - do you even think she will have time for all of them - no, they will basically raise themselves. Maybe the girl will get all the attention. Also .. the planet.
Imagine all those college fees.... Like goddamn that's too many kids
Over population is a real thing. It's great that you can fed and cloth all of them without assistance so it's kind of like nobody's business until you agree to publicity. I only had an older brother which seemed normal to me. My friends that had 3 or 4 siblings always commented on how lucky I was to have parents with so much time for my brother and I. They felt lost in a crowd and felt the parents just didn't have time to focus on each child. My parents knew every friend and the friends parents. They went to every school play, choir performance, softball and football game, parent teacher conference and dance recital. When my brother and I met and married our spouses my parents doted on each of their 5 grandchildren making each one feel special. I don't see how you could possibly do this with 11 kids. Even if you could you would be too tired. My Mother was number 10 out of 11 children. That is why she vowed to only have 2. My grandmother had 46 grandchildren.
It helps to be in a country where everyone does the same thing. If you're somewhere where large families are unusual, parents don't always have the same support or training for so many children.
