England Loses Euro 2020 To Italy And Here Are 29 Of The Internet’s Best Reactions And Memes To The Whole Thing
So, did anyone catch the game last night? Well, even if you didn’t, spoiler alert, by now the whole internet knows Italy won the UEFA Euro 2020 Championship against England, who were very confident they would win.
So confident, in fact, that there was a slogan, ‘It’s Coming Home’, meaning that the football (soccer) victor’s cup would be going to England for the first time in a while—England's only major trophy win was back in 1966 when they won the World Cup.
But, alas, Italy turned out to be the better player here, and the slogan very quickly and wittily became ‘It’s Coming To Rome’. Regardless, the internet has been going nuts with this whole spectacle, meming things left and right.

The rule, so I have read, is that when the national anthem is being played it's a shirt and tie job as they are officially representing the country. When William takes George to their favourite team's games he wears t-shirts.

Kate was only to look after George while William did the official stuff as FA president. In other meet and greet UEFA guests beforehand and players afterwards. They didn’t run away, just behind the scenes not public. Kate took George home, William had to stay on.

English football is good. English football fans are an embarrassment. But on the night, apart from the fact that one Italian should have been sent off for fouling Saka, the Italians played a better game. They controlled the ball, the owned the match and they deserved to win, even though I was rooting for England.
England played well Italy played well. Shame is Italy play dirty, that assault an Saka was pathetic. But it went to penalties and we lost. And to be honest I'm glad we did because of the disgraceful racist comments from English people to the black players. And the disgusting booing of the opponents national anthem. I am English and will always support the English team, shame those morons out there cant accept defeat with some grace.
England played well??? Really? Seriously? What game were you watching. We destroyed you. You didn’t touch the ball in the second half and resorted to your standard play of long balls. It got to 79% possession at one stage mate. That’s a mauling. We should have won the game in 90mins. Seriously, you poms are clueless and shame on you for booing the Italian national anthem. The English team I can get behind - progressive. The minority of fans - the vocal, visible, toxic racists - no. I'm glad England lost. Brexit legitimised racism in that country and the right-wing culture war-fanning government silently condone it if not exacerbate it. Losing is good for The English right now.
