When it comes to goodest boys and bestest girls, we think that every single doggo deserves a 10 out of 10 for making our lives more cheerful and bringing smiles to our faces. But Matt Nelson, who created the WeRateDogs Twitter page, has a unique way for dog ratings, pairing them with adorable comments, and often scores far above 10. In fact, scores are beside the point—the funny comments are what won Nelson a solid fan base and 8.7 million followers.
Combining humor and passion for canines, WeRateDogs started as a side hustle and is now a part of a successful all-things-doggo brand. It includes a WeRateDogs book, a phone game, and an online clothing store which is said to earn the creator something in the low five figures monthly.
So, let’s get into the funny dog and pupper ratings that have been winning everyone’s hearts since 2015.

OMG I thought it said "Last month she passed away" but thankfully I read it wrong and she passed her therapy dog test instead. Whoever thought it was a good idea to shoot a dog 17 times should burn in Hell
Reading things like this brings out the worst in me, begging for a few moments alone with the animal(s) who did this. That aside, there is a special place in heaven for people like you who gave her a second chance.
Seeing this brings out the worst in me, I would love to have a few moments alone with the animal(s) who did this to her. That aside there is a special place in heaven for people like you, giving her a very good life.
How can anyone harm these beautiful creatures? There is a special place in hell for them.
Works for me.....whoever did this is beyond the help of any therapist and obviously could never be relied on to take meds. Some people truly need to be taken off the street for the rest of their lives.
150/10 for the dog. This reminds me why I love dogs and people make my head hurt.
What a sweet girl. Bless her, she deserves a ton of happiness in her life❣️
Agree I hope they die a long painful death. Maggie May you live 1000 years
The poor dog, suffering before being rescued, the people who did this to Maggie, if caught they should suffer tremendous pain, also, those type are capable of killing humans, pure evil !!!
This absolutely breaks my heart, how could anybody do such a terrible thins to such an innocent animal.
I'm overjoyed, truly, that you found and rescued Maggie; you're right,... she's beautiful!!
This is heartbreaking! There has never been an animal that deserves to be treated that way, except for the person who did that to this dog. He should be eradicated like a disease.
"It's down a rugged road you've come Though you had every reason You didn't come undone Somehow you made it to the other side You know that tenderness comes from pain" Song by Sade
I hope they caught the monster who did that and put them in jail. I also hope that he gets butt-raped every day until release!
Poor baby. Absolutely heartbreaking that she had to go through so much horror.
I just hope whoever did this lives a long incurable, painful life. No, no sympathy. Poor dog, the pain, the trauma, the memories. Not sure how to rate this one. Thumbs up for saving of poor animal, or, thumbs down for the incredible cruelty?
I would think that if he was visiting with patients in a hospital or nursing home, he would be a huge inspiration. He has been through so much but has a great will to live. It appears he is with a loving family now for which I am very thankful.
Why is it that some people think that it is alright to do this to animals
Maggie, you are a beautiful girl. You are just amazing. Everything you've gone through & you still have a love for humans.. bless your beautiful soul and may you live an amazing life and continue inspiring others 💘🐕
Follow Maggie the wonder dog on Insta! You should see her new sister, Millie.
Dealing with immeasurable amounts of information is one heck of a task, especially when it comes to social media. We Rate Dogs’s Matt Nelson said in an interview with Esquire that the platform allows people to feel a sense of safety and happiness amidst the online chaos. “If you're in the wrong parts of Twitter, it can easily be described as a cesspool of horrible things. So in that way, you can see my account as an escape,” he explained.
Since the first dog photo rating post aired in 2015, Nelson’s approach to We Rate Dogs has changed. At first, it was all about making a joke as funny as possible, but now, most of the time, he evaluates social-media analytics, calculates profits, and responds to emails. One may think of the influence the school has had on the young entrepreneur, but Nelson is quite bitter. "The only thing I owe to this school is the boredom that caused me to start the account in the first place," he said to Esquire.
You’ve probably noticed that many cute dogs on WeRateDogs Twitter have special needs—some of them have experienced abuse, while others have health conditions.
Bored Panda spoke to Antonio Diaz, K9 Trainer and behavioral specialist, about what it’s like to adopt an animal who needs that extra care. According to Antonio, even if the “special needs” are relative, there are a couple of things to be considered. First, “the vet bills and unforeseen responsibilities” are higher. He explains: “Any person wanting to take on a dog like this should first fully understand the time, dedication and possible financial responsibility that they will acquire. The last thing you want to happen is to have unrealistic expectations and need to rehome the dog.”
On the other hand, some very healthy dogs might also need an extra bit of care. “For example, an extremely fearful dog can certainly be considered special needs due to the fact that they need extra care, special handling procedures and behavioral training, all of which require more time, patience and attention to detail.”
In the end, it all comes down to the amount of attention the owner is willing to give their adorable pet. In the end, having a dog at home always requires work. “The idea of loving any silly dog and having them be a part of your family is wonderful. But the reality of the work involved can quickly change things for some people.” Antonio adds that “not everyone is cut out for it and that’s okay.”
When dogs are doing better at taking care of the Earth you know we are hopeless.

They are all the bestest girls and boys. And I'm a cat person. Shhhh, sneaking in to peek at the puppers.
i hope that one day i would be able to move from a flat to a house with a piece of garden so i can enjoy the company of a wonderful unconditionally lover doggie pal; cats are amazing but dogs are on a whole other level
This is great, but it would be nice if the videos actually worked. I'd like to see them.
Cats and dogs, we love animals ,as they fill our hearts, and complete our life !!!

I'm sorry, but I don't understand the ratings. The beginning mentions rating 0 to 10, but what does, for example, 15/10, mean? I'm old, so don't judge me, lol!
