Meet Picasso, the dog with a twisted jaw, who, together with his brother Pablo, was left at a shelter and slated to be euthanised. The siblings were born to a backyard breeder, who managed to sell all the puppies from the litter, except for Picasso who has a very noticeable facial abnormality. After being surrendered to a shelter, Picasso soon got reunited with Pablo, as the family who bought his brother changed their mind about having a pooch. The brothers didn’t have much time left before being put to sleep…
And that’s when Luvable Dog Rescue stepped in. “I just happened to ask [if they] had any unusual-looking or special needs dogs,” Liesl Wilhardt, executive director of Luvable Dog Rescue, told The Dodo. “[They] sent me Picasso’s shelter intake photo. He was curled in a dog bed, and looked very sad. His twisted face was startling, but he had soft and gentle eyes, and for me it was love at first sight!”
Luvable will take both boys in and make sure they get adopted together after Picasso undergoes surgery to remove the teeth pushing into the roof of his mouth.

Share on FacebookI don't think it'S worth sending the poor pooch through tons of painful surgery. Yes, it looks really odd, but he seems to be ok eating and breathing. He doesn't know he looks strange and he found a good home AND with his brother, too.
Load More Replies...Annnnd here is just another reason to "rescue" dogs, not "buy" them from some lowlife backyard breeder!!
I don't think he looks ugly. He looks surprised. He is so cute and so is his brother
All the reactions are nice but it's also kinda sad. A dog who needs a home gets media attention and suddenly everyone wants to adopt him, but those same people would never think of visiting a shelter and adopting a pet that didn't have a story going viral on the media... (don't get me wrong, it's great that his duo is going to be adopted because all of this, but there's so many pets left in shelters.)
Thats true but I think stories like this encourage people to go to rescue centres, without an publicity they wouldn't get many donations or forever homes...
Load More Replies...Why don't anybody want him? I would take him if I could, he's so cute!
He's lovely but still I guess he needs some surgery, not that much estetic as functional one. His left lip is being hit by his theeth. It may hurt in fact. His mouth is not completely closed, that means that it dries out too much. Picasso might be in pain but he got used to it because he doesn't know that it can be different. The surgery may not be that painful. But can you imagine how much his life would change after that?!
Supervet to the rescue, he could make a huge difference Im sure...
Load More Replies...I was just reading articles then I saw him and the title and I started cry like a kid.
nobody is perfect , i think is nice dog , i wish i had him, dont juge from face ,insiade it must count
Poor babies. Back yard breeding, they get over bred. Isn’t it against the law. Should be. There’s so many shelters filled daily with homeless dogs and cats. They have maybe 4 days before euthanized. So heartbreaking, they are innocent. So glad for ASPCA and Humane Society. 🙏🏼❤️
He couldn't be more perfect or handsome!!! They are both fine looking men!!!
Aawww so happy Picasso and his brofur Pablo´ve been rescued by Luvable Dogs, Picasso´s really perfectly "imperfect", he has such beautiful eyes and a cute face in spite of the "twisted" jaw, they should both be adopted together, as bonded as they are, good luck lil ones!!!
I hope they get adopted together and have a wonderful, loving family.
Picasso ist ein sehr lieber Hund ,wie ich sehen konnte und diese Augen machen die Ausstrahlung perfekt!
I wish people would understand - in the pursuit of perfection there will always be one or two rejects. It is these rejects that colour your life and make it exciting.
This is what happens when people buy dogs from breeders....they just make more and more and "dump" the unsold to DIE. If you don't rescue you are literally a killer.
Omg😍😘they both cute, thk god he found his forever home n his bro,sad they were puttin him to sleep bc of his abnormalities, not fare soo sad..it breaks my heart when i read this stories
The only thing wrong with Picasso is it looks like his nose "melted" over his lower jaw. I think that gives him character. If I was able to, I'd adopt him in a heartbeat. He's adorable.
Glad he's with his brother they will look out for each other ! He's a cutie different but not ugly x
I will have him. He's perfect and as long as his tail wags that's good enough for me.😁
