Some people do have two children close in age who look like twins but are not twins, whether they're the same age and one or both is adopted, about a year or two apart but the same size/height, or that one case where a woman had two children one month apart because she had another pregnancy in her second uterus.

The logical cause is: Babies emit an intelligence-reducing field... Clearly! Parents get slowly immune to, but outsiders without babies don't get enough exposure.

The extra finances and time required to raise twins is one thing (they’re worth it, of course, but it doesn’t change the extra stress that parents face). Another major challenge is helping your twins find the line between their close relationship with their sibling and their own uniqueness.
Twins constantly have to navigate between an inner desire to be with their sibling and be just like them while at the same time being their own person. Nobody likes being treated like just a copy or a clone of somebody else after all.
‘Today’s Parent’ has some spot-on advice on the more practical aspects of raising twins. One of their tips is to “master simultaneous feedings” in order to simplify mealtime and take some of the stress off the parents. Multitasking is a must when you have twins, there’s no way around it.

People would ask my brother and I if we were identical. We always answered yes.
The same goes for giving your twins a bath. It’s far easier to wash them both because of the logistics: you don’t want to be giving one a bath while constantly switching your attention to what the other one’s doing. Of course, it would be easier if both parents could take care of their kids full-time, however, we all know that this isn’t always possible.
I wonder if anyone named the twins as baby's but then got them mixed up and switched names and they kept those switched names for the rest of their life and it wasent their real name.
In an earlier interview, Eddy Ng, the James and Elizabeth Freeman Professor of Management at Bucknell University, told me that the pandemic has unfairly affected working women. The lockdowns weren’t the great gender equalizer that many thought they would be.
“Women, even those in professional and managerial jobs, continue to take on a second shift (caring for family) after the first shift at the office. We continue to subscribe to gender roles, even in many egalitarian societies,” Professor Ng earlier told Bored Panda.

According to Professor Ng, there is a “persistent pay gap and an underrepresentation of women in senior management and higher-paying jobs.” The expert said that during the Covid-19 lockdowns, men’s higher-paying careers have been prioritized over women’s which are seen as “supplemental income” even in Western countries.
“Women reorganize their work around family demands, men often do not. Unequal division of labor is exacerbated when a family could no longer access paid help (COVID restrictions), and women will have to pick up the slack,” Professor Ng said. Even though plenty of parents share duties when it comes to taking care of kids and doing the chores around the house, women are still expected to pick up the lion’s share of the work. Even in the West.
It’s not just twins or even immediate family members that can look like us. Most of us have been in situations where we’re walking down the street or channel surfing and we spot someone who looks just like us. Not a bit like us. Not mostly like us. A carbon copy of us. It’s like we’ve entered The Twilight Zone only nobody bothered telling us that.
As a rule for many twin parents - you change one diaper, you change both. Gotta keep them on the same schedule. So, one day, as they were getting really good at crawling and wriggling away, I change one diaper, grab the other baby, change him. A couple of hours later I change diapers again, and realize that I had changed one, and then changed the same one again. On the first changing, I just thought the one hadn't peed that much. On the second changing, the one that never got changed had the most incredibly wet diaper. This is when you realize how good your diapers are.
Geneticist Arthur Beaudet from the Baylor College of Medicine explains that “people who look identical almost certainly share more DNA than two random strangers who don’t look alike.” So if you spot someone who looks like they could be your twin, odds are, they might be an incredibly distant relation of yours. A twin but not a twin so to speak. Which begs the question, how different would your life have been if the family tree were changed and you were raised together?

Technically, having one kid at a time is the worst option here, because it's insanity. As in, inside of the line. The twins option, however, goes above the line, presumably outside of the line, making it outsanity. Ok, I'll go now.

Raising twins are the easiest thing. I mean, me and my twin brother were basically small angels. My parents had the easiest job in rhe world with us. Just hopes my old parents never read this.... because, well...
I have 21 year old twins. A lot of this is true, and funny. But I wouldn't have changed it for a minute. I look at my kids compared with many of the singeltons out there. My kids seemed easier. They had a built in playmate, so they didn't get bored as easily. They learned from very young how to share, so they learned not to fight. I always tease they were "self-regulating". Before I could step in, they usually resolved their issues. Perhaps not in a way I would have preferred, but it worked for them. They figured out fairly quickly, hitting was not a good option. The other hit back.

Apparently my parents had quite a hard time raising my twin brother and I but they were super happy when they found out they were having twins, because they had been trying for a while with no success :)
Raising any kids isn't a cakewalk. Twins as infants - a bit exhausting. But as they get older, it's like raising any two kids, with a few differences here and there. But I imagine every set of twins is different, just like any kids are different. And I get the being super happy. I was 40 when I had mine.

I dressed mine the same exactly once. For the first picture I had taken of them, professionally. I'm lazy by nature. There was no way I was going to plan outfits and plan laundry to make sure those outfits were clean at the same time. That aside, I realized this is what gives twins no sense of self - making them into one person. From that point on, I made sure they didn't wear matching outfits. I let them pick their own clothes as soon as they could make their wishes known.

Don't worry about that. I'm the youngest of 5 kids, my mother would go down the line until she got the right name. And yes, as a female, she did call me by my brother's names once in a while.

True story: I once worked in an insurance office where a couple came in to have their van inspected. They had a commercial van they had outfitted with seats and seatbelts. For their 8 kids. 1 five-year old, 5 two-year olds, and a set of 8 month old twins. I still think about them, 25 years later!
