“It started off with me wanting to document our journey for my family and friends, especially since I live in another country but also because identical triplets are such a rare thing, I thought people would find it interesting,” Maria revealed to the media. “So I wanted it to be kind of a mini blog where I wrote about both the ups and the downs.”

This September, Maria her husband Anders welcomed two girls and a boy to the world – Iben, Agnes, and Filip

She then posted on her Instagram: “Today we welcomed our beautiful babies to the world. Everything went really well, there were no pregnancy complications, and we are so happy and relieved.” However, not everything was going so smoothly, and one week after giving birth, the young mom shared with her Instagram followers: “I now have a really weird looking hanging postpartum belly, which is still quite heavy. My uterus has not [shrunk] back yet. Because my belly was so stretched, it takes longer than usual. I’m going to get a belly band/support binder asap because it’s quite annoying and the sagging makes my c-section scar hurts. I’m really impatient to get my body back!”

On one of the Instagram posts of her, Maria also said: “After the pregnancy, I have a separation of my abdominal muscles. I also have some issues with my posture, breathing, and sore muscles from all the feeding of the babies.” Twelve weeks after giving birth, the mother updated the followers on her belly situation: “It’s been a while since my last postpartum body picture, and that’s because I felt that the progress has been so slow. I have done my breathing exercises every day and have been told not to do anything more physically demanding yet. I’ve also used my belly band/corset approximately 4-5 days a week for 1-5 hours at the time. The last couple of weeks, my belly finally shrunk a bit more visibly, but I still have a long way to go. Luckily I can fit into some of my normal pants, so that’s a start.”

Maria’s followers from all over the world appreciate her candidness and openness about the struggles of birthing that not everyone talks about

She mentioned: “I want to be as honest as possible about what it feels like going through something as special and life-changing as all of sudden getting three babies at once. I had never seen, heard, or read anything about triplets before, so it was completely new territory. I think it is a story I would have liked to follow myself ― it’s kind of fascinating to be able to follow something like this from the beginning.”

But despite all the struggles, the beautiful family seems incredibly happy

The followers of her Instagram account are very supportive of her and her family, and some are even calling her a “rock star.” “I’m blown away by all the support I got after posting my postpartum pictures. People I don’t know from all around the world have written the nicest things to me,” Maria shared with the media.

Most importantly, all four kids are perfectly healthy and, of course, incredibly cute
