Trends and popular things are, by their design, things that change and shift with time. Something that was popular a year ago is now considered an outdated reference, a popular meme can outstay its welcome in a month, and minor trends go in and out of fashion daily. Basically, just because something is widely accepted today doesn't mean it will have the same significance after some time passes. Perhaps to commemorate these trends, or just catalogue them for future reference, there are community threads online that talk about the trendy things that likely won't be cool in 5 years' time. One such discussion is hosted on Reddit, where people readily expressed their opinions about what they think won't withstand the test of time.

Having the covid vaccine. Eventually it'll be as commonplace as a flu vaccine.
Some of the things listed by the community are leaning more towards actual items, such as so-called MLM teas. Other picks feature plastic surgery trends. And then there are those who think that the websites we use now will lose their influence and be forgotten or abandoned. Basically, the things that send people raving today, in 5 years, could be irrelevant.
A lot of the stuff I see people doing on TikTok seems like the kinda thing you'd be embarrassed about in a few years
man, i hope. a lot of small buisnesses have a pretty main platform there though, so i'm not really sure where i stand on it.
Trends are tricky because of their very foundation. Something becomes popular because it's new and exciting, it presents something that captures people's attention, but if it doesn't provide long-term value, it tends to go away. Just look back at the trends that ruled the '90s, for example. Those are now considered to be an archaic concept in the current climate.
Overly-processed Instagram photos. Especially in the context of makeup and skincare.
Hopefully Facebook. I never thought it would kill myspace and MySpace reminds me of better times when I think of how sh*tty Facebook handled the last 4 years
Actually, a study was conducted to find out what children used what social media platforms today. The study asked 1,500 middle and high school students. 62 percent of teens said they use Instagram while 58 percent use Snapchat. (Texting was most popular, used by 98 percent of the teens surveyed.) Facebook was, surprisingly, only 7 percent. (This is not copy-and-pasted or plagiarized. I wrote this by myself.)
Current plastic surgery trends to meet the current IG standards. I fear for a lot of people who have had BBLs and facial surgery that the look will become outdated and permanently associated with late 2010’s and early 2020’s, kind of how like there are plastic surgery trends associated with the 90s/2000s.
Then there's a rule of 'what goes around comes around.' There are cases of trends and cool things that were popular before, got old and abandoned, and then resurfaced when we least expected it. Of course, the most obvious cases are centered in the fashion industry, but there are other things too, coming in a variety of categories, such as names or even those same internet trends.
Hopefully the stupid “hacks” that people are coming up with. That’s not a hack

If the 5-day work work does fade, I hope it is replaced by options that can be tailored to the needs of the employee and their family or current situation. That might be longer but fewer days, shorter but more days etc. Equalizing the needs of the business with the needs of the employee would be most ideal.

As I write for influencers, some youtubers spread useful informations that unfortunately you would have problems finding elsewhere. I find youtube a very useful font of knoledge (if you use it well, sure).
I like to subscribe to science channels because my science knowledge is poor.

Load More Replies... "Influencers" and others with no skills beyond their face should be pushed out. But there are many who have great skills and are happy to share them. I love to watch them and hope that youngsters will catch on to hobbies and skills that might benefit them later in life. The variety of content available on YouTube is immeasurable in incomparable to TV or any other streaming service. It appeals to individuals of all ages, races, nationalities etc etc. I hope it is here to stay.

Hey, not all YouTubers are bad. Not every YouTuber makes clickbait content, and some of them are genuinely nice. For example, Dream and GeorgeNotFound are super popular, and they're kind people. I actually like their content. (Yes, I am a Dream stan. Please don't attack me for it, not all of us are toxic like some stans.)
Depends on your idea of "youtubers". If you mean randos doing reaction videos, then yeah, probably. But if you mean legitimate content creators like all the channels from Complexly (SciShow, PBS Eons, Bizarre Beasts, etc) those channels fill the void left by Discovery Channel and its ecosystem of content when they switched from actual science to "How many babies can one woman squeeze out before her entire body prolapses out her hooha? Tune in tonight at 8 pm to find out!"
Some popular youtubers are pretty okay by my standards. They bring joy and mild entertainment to a world that would otherwise just be boring. But yeah, a lot of youtubers are trash, I can agree with that. Luckily, most people have common sense and don’t follow those types of people, and those who do usually do it for the memes.

A lot of us need youtubers for reviews and sometimes manuals. I just got a tripod for which there is literally no manual. It's a pain in the ass.

This one is doubtful. If you mean just right now, new youtubers will take their place.
The only responsible YouTubers with large followings (off the top of my head) are probably Markiplier (And Crankgameplays), Nikietutorials, and the Gamegrumps (excluding Jontron) and MatPat. If you don't like any of them that's fine, but you have to admitt that they are using thier platforms for good things :)

YouTube “personalities” like PewDiePie can kindly jus slip back into oblivion, but I regularly watch excellent YouTube channels on science (SciShow!), history, and guitar gear and repair that are invaluable. YouTube really is a treasure trove of excellent information and tutorials if you wade in past the fads and clickbait.
I’ve never gotten into you tube like some have. I actually hate watching how to videos and would rather either look at pictures or read directions.
You can use youtube to search a lot more than "how to" videos. I would suggest you to search for documentaries, they are free and interesting. Youtube is plenty of them. National Geographic, DW Documentary, TED-Ed... just to mention some pages I like. It depends on your interest. If you start searching, youtube could be a treasure throve. Very useful

Sometimes I think that the complete internet has to go. When I was young we had no internet.I mean yes, the internet helped a lot and made a lot of things a lot easier but it also destroyed much like the intelligence of every upcoming generation. By now I think if we would lose the internet for only one day the kids wouldn't know what to do because they've lost their complete fantasy.
