Love the way the tree is framed in the archway...incredible that the art seems to be in relatively good condition...

This decay breaks my heart. SUCH a gorgeous place - and noone wants it, anymore.

I am always sad when I see a building left to rot. Couldn't it be given to someone in need of housing? Better than rotting.

It's as if the tree wanted to better the paintings, they fit so well together...

How elegant - must have felt very grand attending a production there.

Years ago I red an article about the Republic of Abkhazia and it's still in my mind ! The stunning abandoned buildings in Gagra /once resort, now ghost town/ - they used to call it the Russian Riviera. Hope to visit it some day.

There is a train graveyard a few miles from me - Carnforth - it's so sad to pass - 100 years of railway history just falling to pieces

It's really sad that at one point people decided that the craftsmanship and labour that were put in these buildings weren't worth the effort of trying to preserve them for future generations.

Some one is trying to save this Church. The wires are there to hold the walls together while work is in progress.
