It’s not easy to change your negative lifestyle habits. That’s why they’re called habits. But one woman finally decided that enough was enough, and as you can see from her incredible before and after pictures, the impact has been truly remarkable.
The 4ft 10″ 20-year-old, who goes by the name of melephants and who once weighed 143lbs, lost around 30lbs by eating properly, counting calories, and hitting the gym four to five times per week. She started by adjusting her eating habits (“I base my meals around a source of protein now (chicken, fish) and lots of veggies,” she says. “I don’t eat carbs that much, more on lifting days”) before gradually incorporating exercise into her routine. She spent most of her first month on the treadmill but she didn’t see much change, and so now she focuses more on HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training). She works her lower body two-three times per week and her upper body twice, and during those sessions she does deadlifts, squats, bench presses and hip thrusts.
She’s also made smaller changes to her life, such as standing instead of sitting on the train, drinking more water, and leaving snacks and junk food out of her house. “Honestly, it’s not only benefited my physical health but my mental health too,” she said, adding that her lifestyle change has been the “best decision I’ve ever made!” So if you’re looking to shake things up then what are you waiting for? Take a leaf out of this woman’s book and start taking steps towards a happier, healthier life!

Share on FacebookI'm a 260lbs woman and just hit that first goal. Lost 20lbs in 4 months with small diet changes and a little bit more exercise. ultimately I want to get to 180lbs which I think is a good goal. Changing bad habbits is really hard especially if you suffer from depression, low self esteem, and or physical conditions that make it harder to lose weight. Man or woman it is important to love who you are and if you don't like a habit you have developed it only takes a few months of hard work to make that change. Dont let you tell you that it is impossible or that the hill is too large. Just one foot infront of the other and the changes will happen.
She found a way to feel better about her body, without putting her health at risk .She is all the things women should look up to when they torture themselves tryng to get thinner.
Leonius, there are a ton of posts on here about men losing weight and transforming, too. It takes a special kind of egotistical stupidity to write under a positive story 'My brother did it better than this chick.'

I'm glad she made the decision herself! She decided to make her life better and not for anyone else.
Good on her. I've done something similar. Haven't really started the exercising yet, but I started by cutting out all soda (even the diet stuff creates sugar cravings), and then reduced alcohol consumption to one beer per week (though generally, I don't even do that anymore), and one small dessert per week, usually on a weekend. I'm down 27 pounds since March, with the goal of losing another 15.
And, I'm 51. This can be done, even by older people.

Super easy to lose weight (for most) when you're in your 20's but after your 40th bday, man, that s**t is IMPOSSIBLE (for most) to lose. Then there's those freaks of nature who can do triathlons into their 90's...
Good for her losing a little weight, but some of the after photos are heavy on the make-up, and I spotted a couple of the before that have been stretched out sideways. Don't want to sound negative, but many women, including myself, are going through torturous trials to get in better shape, and we don't need that sort of disreputable tactics to eggs us on...
This is me in her Before pictures! Exactly! What an absolutely great incentive for me. She motivates me because the results are real, meaning spread out over the years, and that's a more realistic goal for me. I'm proud of her.
Read carefully. "Avoid carbs, eat proteins and veggies" . Very critical steps. It's not necessary to starve yourself. You can eat until satisfied, and these foods keep you satisfied longer. Also, it's perfectly fine to include natural fats as well. Believe or not, fat does NOT make you fat. GOOD JOB!
My mom went on a similar diet to her (the gallbladder diet) and lost a lot of weight, so it's definitely attainable. I tried to do it with her and ended up losing too much weight and had to go off it. This girl is doing a smart thing by getting healthy now. I hope she keeps up with it. Good work!
Simple stuff: Cycle your carbs (low carbs on rest days, higher carbs on training days) Intermittent fasting Do both of the above once you've used a calculator to figure out your TDEE. The figure for your TDEE is just a guestimate, you need to measure your stomach, arm and thigh once a week on the same day at the same time - if you're not losing any weight after 2 weeks (at MOST 1kg) lower your daily calories by 200. If you're losing more than 1kg a week, increase by 150. Keep doing this till you find that 1kg a week sweet spot. Weight train, cardio isn't great for weight loss as your metabolism and CV system is adaptive, the fitter you get, the less calories you burn. Take a photo the first day you start this, take one at 12 weeks later. I promise you that you'll look a million times better if you've stuck to the above rules.
Common now, not able to loose 30, 40, 50 lbs+ in 20 years age - this is ridiculous joke. Let`s her do the same in 45, that you will talk.
My mom is 52, doing nearly the same thing, and she has lost 20 pounds so I'm not sure what your point is?

Considering her height (4ft10) 30 pounds is a pretty big deal dude.
