I think it also has something to do with parents who have your life path planned out for you. see all the arrows on the backpack? I see them as all the ways the kid could go but the parents direct it down one path, leaving no freedom of making your own decision.
Yes ! One of my friends' have this kind of parents and I feel so bad for her cause she doesn't have that lovable environment at all .. It's only study, study, study .... Indians will know , right people ?
There's a lot of symbols in this picture, but I don't think it's about over-controlling parents. The parents are the previous generation, and the child is the next generation. But the parents are small, and the child is big. The reins on the child are also very symbolic---the reins around the head are very tight, uncomfortable to wear. But the parents don't really know how to steer the child, holding the reins as if they don't know what to do with it. In addition to that they're sitting on a school backpack, which has arrows pointing in every direction with different colors, resembling the overwhelming number of choices we now force on the current generation. And the background is filled with half-read long words that describe the many issues we now press on that generation.
In the end, I'd say it's a description of the current state of education. The world has changed so much and the previous generation doesn't really know how to steer anymore, dumping all the choices on the child.

What do you think ?
Over controlling parents? ?

This is exactly what I think it is. The parents are forcing the child to take a path in life that he may or may not have chosen for himself.

Not quite. I think.
Some parents I have seen, just try and control every aspect of their child's life, and then those children grow up to be over entitled assholes.
Or totally unable to make decisions and lacking self confidence on the other end of the extreme.
I work with that guy.
I think it's more of a brainwashing, or not thinking outside the box. Preconditioning the child to go the same way they did.
