This Tiny $52,000 Home Comfortably Houses 4 People In Just 263 Square Feet
2020 is making some of us wish that we could jet off into outer space and take a break from all the problems and challenges on Earth. While we can’t fly off for a quick getaway just yet, what we can do is find a futuristic smart home that looks just like a spaceship. [Rocket engines and terraforming kits sold separately.]
The Cube Two prefabricated home design is made by Singapore’s Nestron and it has a lot of cool perks. For one, this tiny house all ready to move in on arrival. Second of all, it has an integrated artificial intelligence assistant. And with 263 square feet (24.4 square meters), the house design large enough to house families of three or four people.

Nestron has a few core ideas that it works and builds by. They want to make affordable and eco-friendly housing that looks and feels modern. They also take pride in their engineering skills.
For example, the insulation they use means that their prefab homes are fit for all climates—from hot to cold, to everything in between. Meanwhile, the tiny houses are made of fireproof and earthquake-resistant materials. This means that you should be safe no matter where you decide to plop down your new Cube Two.
All Nestron smart houses have a fully-integrated AI assistant. You can use your voice to control most functions and the coolest part is that the AI learns your way of living over time.
The company’s values of eco-friendly affordable housing have their roots in Papua New Guinea where Nestron’s founders went in 2013 to build prefab houses for the poor. However, they were met with a lot of obstacles, including problems with local subcontractors, missing materials, and delays. Fortunately, this mission solidified the founders’ ideals: they created the company four years later, in 2017 on this foundation.

Is that see through glass shower and toilet in the kitchen/living room? Is everyone supposed to just sit and eat their dinner and watch while someone else is sat taking a dump, staring back out at them. Why, why, why would anybody put that there?

Seems like a waste of money. For $50k you can buy an actual prefab house that doesn't have a toilet on full display.
It may be able to comfortably sleep a family of four but I imagine a family four actually living on 24 square meters might be a different story.
Maybe for a weekend getaway. I'd rather get an RV with that much space and go places.

My brother tried to go tiny and he said it was the most depressing two years of his life. Him and his partner living in 300 sq feet. Their home was nice and they had plenty of outdoor space, but he said that you have no privacy, you are constantly on top of one another. They both started spending more time at work to avoid being in the confined space. After two years, they sold their tiny home and built a 1,200 sq ft home. They are much happier.
That would be great for homeless veterans since the DOD, PENTAGON refuse to help.
That see through shower/toilet monstrosity is NOT on the floor plan! That has a far more decent separate place with door on it.

My family would go insane if we all had to live in each other’s pockets like this. Couldn’t they have at least made the shower and toilet private? I realize that it would make the house seem even smaller to wall it off like that, but I’d rather not have everyone watch me take a shower or use the toilet.
Three of us lived in a camper for 2 months while we toured the country. That was enough for me. Don't recommended doing this long term.
I did that too, in a camper with my parents back when I was about 14. Totally put me off camping—-I haven’t set foot in a camper, RV, or tent since then, and I’m 59 now. If we’re at one of the national parks I’ll pay for a room at the lodge, thank you very much.

It's fine for a single person. Would be nice if it was a traveling home or something. Other than that, has no practical purpose.
This “tiny home” is just an updated version of a tiny trailer. True tiny homes are actual scaled-down houses with foundations, and built from wood, stone, or brick.
Even though the extra 15% of usable space, it would be cramped for 2 people. 3 people would be crowded. With 4 people, it would be a sardine can.
Pooping is way too close to cooking. No flexibility, very particular taste - I've seen much better tiny homes. last but not least: these projects don't solve housing issues. We need to stack peoople on top of each other in nicer ways, instead of creating fancy looking trailer parks.

If it's just me living there and the other bedroom can be converted to a full office space then maybe we have a deal. The bathroom needs a redesign though. Clearly the original designers does not understand bathrooms and the lounging nature they need to have
They claim to ship anywhere...but what about plumbing and hookups to electricity? How do you register it as an address to have mail sent there?
I love tiny homes, but really don't like this one. If you don't like the furniture, then tough luck. It's built in so you're stuck with it. I've seen hundreds of better designs than this.

All of these comments below are pretty accurate. I am also going to put out there, that even IF the shower weren't see through, and with all the amenities, it's still going to feel small really quick. Particularly with 3 to 4 people. I have an aunt and uncle who lived on their sailboat for quite a while. Some of that time was while they were sailing it in other parts of the world, some of it was after their trip. I spent some time with them during both of those phases, so I know what it's like to be in a tiny living space. It gets old quick. It's okay short term, it's not a long term situation.
