TikTok is a must-visit place for some of the internet’s most viral challenges, from incredible glow-ups to cooking trends like making a baked feta pasta, and pet-related challenges like “Please Don’t Go.” So no wonder there’s an entire new challenge topping the trending lists every couple of weeks.
This time, TikTok users are going crazy for the “How hard did puberty hit you?” trend that challenges people to use two pictures only that show how much bois and gurls have changed since their careless childhood days.
From badass style transformations to embracing their new identities and letting their confidence shine from within, these are some great examples of self-acceptance and self-love. Both of which we should never rob ourselves of.

The new “How hard did puberty hit you?” challenge is a spinoff of another widely popular TikTok trend where people share their transformations, also known as glow-ups. The hashtag #glowup on Instagram produces more than 4 million search results, and the same hashtag has over 14.7 billion views on TikTok.
Not only are there 10-year glow-up challenges, there is also an entire genre of YouTube videos dedicated to the “24-hour glow-up challenge.” In these videos, people challenge themselves to become prettier, or to glow up, within the period of one day.

I think most of these pictures are not at all what the title says. Yes, all of them look very different but nothing especially caused by "puberty hitting hard".

Gender transitioning or coming out can be daunting experiences for anyone, but looking at how far you’ve come and how much you’ve accomplished can be liberating for many LGBTQ youth. Such TikTok videos reflect a more profound kind of transformation and the sense of liberation that show that any glow-up, no matter what, is possible and that you’re all worth it.
Bored Panda reached out to social media influencer Nina Lin, with a solid fanbase of 2.3M followers and 79.5k likes in total. Nina shared her puberty glow-up video featuring two pics of her incredible transformation on TikTok, which went viral.
“I got into TikTok because my friends wanted me to start posting, they have always been on me about blowing up and always kept saying that people need to see this stuff, because I do the dumbest things,” she recounted.“I used to hate TikTok,” Nina said as she honestly didn’t expect her video to blow up as “everything just happened so fast.”
To everyone else and those who struggle about their identity and finding inner confidence, Nina said that “all I have to say is nobody heckin' cares, so why do you? Everyone is too busy focusing on their insecurity, so do you have to be too?” Nina believes that it takes more courage to be yourself than to be “liked” by everyone. “They DON’T pay your bills,” she added.

To Miss Frankfurter, I'm close with a former Miss Nevada and I've got to tell you, there is not a single thing about her that's fake. She's had no work done, loves her time in the sun, she's beautiful inside and out, she's kind and genuine, she's a hard worker, she's incredibly talented, and she's overcome some struggles that I can't begin to image tackling. In short, she's a real-life human being. Maybe we shouldn't paint everyone with such a broad brush?
I know that this is about the glow up, but I love her shirt in the second d pic!
Puberty also gave her confidence. I skill I don't posses, which is why I talk to people to on the internet because I don't have to see them face to face, and I can't talk to people.
Maybe we don't include glow-ups from groomers, Bored Panda? (for anyone wondering, Zoe Laverne at 19 got into a relationship with a 13 year old fan and only stopped because the fan's mom finally found out and intervened; Laverne saw nothing wrong with it and made it out to be both their responsibility, even though she was 19 and he was a child.)

I suppose this is going to be downvoted into oblivion, but very few of these pictures have anything to do with puberty. Call me old fashioned, but the concept of puberty does not include steroids, gender reassignment, cosmetic surgery, Instagram filters, piercings, and tattoos.

I didnt realise how many people get professional pics done of themselves... holy crap...Plus I was in the 50s (numbers) when I realised just how many people want you to know they think they are hot now... puberty punched me in a completely different way...

This would be a much better thread if it was "how middle age affected you". Pretty sure you would see a lot of these circus freaks returning to their human form.
I feel like you see the most change in guys, the change in girls is mostly no makeup to makeup.
Sure was a lot of photoshopping in this post. And some of them went from innocent to slutty, sweet to strange. Not sure if that's puberty or just personality change.
I'm usually not one of those "kids these days" people, but... Going through puberty is a challenge now? How did we manage to do that before tiktok?
Unfortunately the "after" pictures in this post seemed to be more a celebration of "I'm not chubby/ don't have braces/glasses anymore" and "now I fit in with society's concept of sexy." True uniqueness in this world is increasingly hard to find in a world of fake tans, gym-toned abs and manufactured "hotness."
It's funny to see teens with shiny faces from grease, then adult faces made to look shiny from makeup
The after pictures are so manipulated in most of these that a before and after comparison is pointless.
I went from looking like the back end of a bus to looking like the back end of an older bus.
W S - Age being the great equaliser, I went from a reasonably good condition high end sedan, to a very similar bus with a worn out exhaust pipe.

Load More Replies... The difference in the girls was mostly that they traded in a natural, smiling face to droopy eyelids and an open, unsmiling mouth.
Bad title. Most of these dont indicate how puberty naaturally hit them. They are mostly juust 'then and now bases on working out make-up hair styling and in some cases maybe hormone therapy.. gendtics barely play a part.
Utterly stupiod. One a few look real, and then they go from being a normal kid to an over-made-up dork
There is no denying that money helps: dental work, derm visits, etc. Parents who actually care about their kids to help them navigate this weird period also helps.
Well puberty hit, gave me the height and all the bad stuff it does, and then left me without any figure or any difference to my baby face whatsoever.
I lost my baby face in my 20s. Then I found my resting bitch face lol!

I wanna add that puberty is the time to find yourself and to find happiness, that might include make up and noticing that you don't feel yourself being in the Gender, that is Part of puberty, I'm not saying Everyone should be doing that But as long as that Person ist happy with their life, let them be!!!
I rolled down a gentle hill. LOL I look the same now at 44 as I did in Kindergarten. Same face shape, same hair color. My hair is turning silver but for now it just looks like highlights. I'm just a lot taller and fatter, but I had a beer belly as an active 1st grader and even playing sports in high school, so that didn't really change either. I had a classmate of mine say she was looking at grade school pictures and I was the only one that hadn't aged. Thank you round face and oily skin, I guess. Then again I've never smoked--prefer edibles myself, stayed out of the sun because even with sunscreen I burned like a marshmallow, and I rarely drink. Most of my classmates can't say the same thing.
Some of these I can believe have come through with being very lucky and growing up beautiful/handsome. Many have had work, seems unfair they are compared
a lot of these were fake/filters but it was still really cool to see how much people who had gotten gender confirmation/transitioned had changed because it was brave of them to post their younger self on the internet :)
