Three Girls Notice This Man’s Suspicious Behavior In A Restaurant And Save This Woman From Rape Attempt
385Kviews
Charlies Angeles has some competition – three women in Santa Monica saved another woman from getting date raped by her friend and people have dubbed them as heroines.
Sonia Ulrich shared the story of what happened when she and 2 of her friends, Monica Kenyon and Maria Saltzer, were having drinks at a restaurant.
While attempted rape by a friend sounds like the most shocking part of the story, according to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network) the nation’s largest anti-sexual violence organization, 7 out of 10 rapes are committed by someone the victim knows.
People were amazed with their bold rescue

Unfortunately, due to a "bad warrant", a judge dismissed all charges but one- felony poisoning, and his bail was dropped to $50k. The story is from 2016, but there doesn't appear to be any new information if the guy was found guilty or not, or if even the last charge was dropped.
That is unfortunate. However I will gladly sigh a minute of relief for this one victim even if he doesn't get the appropriate punishment. And I will hope (although with little confidence) that it was enough to scare him and prevent a repeat performance.
I also hope he may have lost his job. I couldn't imagine if she had to continue to work in the same place as he.
"Hsu and the woman met in the summer of 2014, when they were hired at the same company within a week of each other, according to Sierra’s testimony. They became friends and a year later began having sex, according to Sierra (cop), though they were never exclusive. The following year, when the woman met someone else at work — her eventual boyfriend — she began to distance herself from Hsu. The detective said that’s when he got even more aggressive. Defense attorney Joshua Ritter rejected this characterization, arguing that the woman never explicitly told Hsu that she wanted to stop sleeping with him or even that she no longer wanted to hang out with him." The drug he used was identified as ecstasy, not seen as a typical date rape drug, so I'm guessing this is why the charges were reduced to poisoning.
A felony charge for POISONING sounds pretty hefty in itself! He couldn't be charged for anything more because that's all he was able to do, thanks to being caught right away! ...and 50k bail would be a large amount for most people...I'm sure the arrest and public humiliation, PLUS spending time in county jail, PLUS a trial, EVEN if found not guilty, would be a definite deterrent to this guy attempting this again!
that is sad... he should have gotten jailed!
What's with us men? why rape anyone or why even think about it? stop ruining lives ffs.
"us men", speak for yourself buddy, i'm no rapist and would of torn this guys fuckin head off if i had seen him do that to any woman. Disgraceful.
Remember to tear off the other "Head" as well please ! 👍
*would have* and also the reason he said all men is cuz, I agree, he should’ve said most men, but still a lot of men are rapists, but then again, a lot of women are rapists too.
Wow! Proper heroes! And good for them to post it too for us all to think about this and not be afraid to act. I also like how they praised the manager/staff of the restaurant. I really hope they get some good publicity and customers because of it (and a raise!). They totally deserve it.

I agree with everything you said EXCEPT the use of the work "heroes". It's an often overused and misused word, so it's losing all meaning. My nephews' step-brother jumped into a river to save a 12-year-old from swimming when he was 19. The step-brother not only didn't know how to swim, but was really afraid of water. He saved the got, got him to shore where the kid could be pulled up. But he himself drowned. THAT is a hero. I liked this story, glad it turned out how it did, but they are not heroes. If they are heroes, what is the proper word to use for my step-nephew?
Sorry for your loss. These girls were heroic, thus heros. Your nephew died being a hero. A good, selfish act to help or save another is heroic, no matter what the outcome is.
Oh shut up, heroes come in all shapes, sizes and situations. Yes your nephew's step brother is a hero but that takes nothing away from what these woman did. If that was my wife or daughter they helped i could be thankful for these heroes for the rest of my life. These woman are heroes, they saved a woman from being raped, something that will have a profound effect on the rest of her life, how is that not heroic?.
Saving someone from being raped is not heroic to you? It's not a competition, you know. YIKES this is a bad take.
Ok I agree with the fact that your step nephew is a hero, and I’m sorry for your loss but heroes come in all shapes and sizes, and if you don’t believe that saving someone from RAPE is heroic then you have some messed up ideas in that head of yours. Raping someone is one of the worst things other than murder, mugging, and other very extreme crimes you can do.
I wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments , and I am sorry for your truly heroic nephew ,although what those women did was brave because it’s too easy these days for others to ridicule someone like that ! But the word is too often used for individuals such as sports people playing a game such as football ! That is ridiculous ! The meaning of the word is taken completely out of context !
You are correct. The word 'hero' is very much over used these days. At one time it meant someone who risked their life to save another. We have noticed in recent years that the local news calls anyone who saves another person or animal, even with no risk to themselves, a hero.

Nope. Hero is someone who risks their lives for others. They did the right thing. That is all.
Well done, ladies. Sisters sticking together.
never get it. Not only it's criminal, but what's the fun to have sex with someone who's not willing to do so?
It's all about power and control. Being able to do something so cruel to a person who can't resist. It gives the creeps a rush.

The only other reason you can find other than "it's criminal" is that it's not fun?
Sarah's right. Besides that, Kjorn is clearly taking the side of the victim here, so why do you need to put him down?
It's frightening how many similar stories emerged around them. That's probably a relatively small sample size, which means that this kind of thing happens more frequently than most would assume. And that the guy was one of her friends just makes the story ten times worse. On a date with a guy you barely know, you'd be on your guard. But who would suspect their friends of spiking their drink? Utterly disgusting.
there's more of us out there than most people think.
Powerful lesson here: If you can do something, DO IT! Don´t just stay there looking or thinking you´re probably wrong... You might be saving someone else´s life. Well done gils!
I'd actually like some follow up on this. Just read today that a judge gave a rapist no jail time and he didn't even have to be put on the sex offender registry. If this guy gets jail time, I'll be shocked. Our system is a joke when it comes to this type of thing. Especially if the judge is a man.
The story is from 2016 and there is no more news about the case.
Wow, the "he's one of my best friend" ... :(
God bless them!!! Well done ladies.. well done
You ladies ROCK!! Keep up the good work!
Wtf dude...poor girl, glad those three women were there to stop that shit. See something, say something!
I am glad they stopped it, but really, did it need to go on social media? Can no one do anything without posting it for everyone to see?
I guess putting some real life stories on social media will at least make people more aware of what can happen and identify the signs more readily. It might be wishful thinking but if the authorities are shown how many times it happens then perhaps they could bring in laws / modfy he legal system and victim support ect. It raises awareness of these seriously bad crimes.
IF that were why they were doing it, I would probably agree. This story reads like they were patting themselves on the back really hard and milking it for all they could.

That famous comment about how the world goes downhill, or something, when good people stand idilly by and do nothing, to right a wrong... well, not that night! Great work ladies!! Fearless and happy to do the right thing! Thank you, for all the women who will now pay attention to their drinks a little more closely. Even around male friends. You should get a medal! WDSTHW medal. Women doing something to help women. Keep up the fantastic work. ❤️❤️❤️💫💫💫💫
What does "WDSTHW" mean ?
"Women Doing Something To Help Women" - WDSTHW.
Well gladly as a bloke speaking honestly it's not something I would ever dream of doing - for many many reasons and I'm saddened as a bloke that it's mostly or always men that want to do such a thing. And to a friend also....... I could go on.
True heroes! The world needs more people like this, to stand up and say something, instead of staying quiet.
Thanks a lot, now I'm crying at 7AM.
Happened to friends of mine in nyc..
I'm an openly gay man. Now back in the day I was a bar guy and liked my drink. I had to gone to this bar just off of Castro Street in San Francisco, called Mobie Dick, fun little family bar with pinball machines and a HUGE fish tank and nice bartenders. I loved going there until that fateful night. I ran into this guy I used to like way back from the bar called "The Answer" in Redwood City (where I still live). We started talking, I bought a couple of drinks for us and I asked him to watch my drink while I went to the bathroom. I come back, drinking, not knowing.. next thing I know I'm in his van and he's raping me. No lie. Dropped me off at my apt, I guess I told him that and that's the last I ever saw of him. I hope he burns in hell! I hate men like that! Not all men are evil but there are some that should be banished from society or chemically castrated!!
I am so sorry this happened to you. *hugs*
I remember on some hidden camera type show (what would you do) they had this scenario play out to see if anyone would do anything and shockingly, even though many people clearly saw this guy drug her drink, only one person ever even alerted the girl, and NO ONE said anything to the man or managers or anything.
It happened to me at a Christmas party but the second I felt weird I had a girl friend take me home. I knew something wasn't right. I had only drank one rum and coke. I felt like I had drank down an entire bottle of tequila. I didn't eat so for the first few mins I thought maybe I should eat but I never got that far. Even my friend knew something wasn't right. Desperate disgusting men who get caught should be branded on their foreheads that they are Date Rapers !!!!
i would have freaked out good job.
These girls are amazing! It's nice to know that there are really good people out there who will help anyone who needs it. :D
Well done ladies.
In addition to all the comments here - why would anyone want to go with someone else when the "Victim" is drugged and incapable? Just showing a point of view in its basic form. But it's a shame there are no punishments like castration!!!!
Men like this ,sometimes make me feel ashamed for being a man ! Even though I would never in a million years stoop to something so low !
I heard this story when it first came out. Glad they waited for the cops.
True fearless heroines! <3
Reading the comments below - siiiigh. Yes they ARE "heroes" - they may have saved this girl from being killed! Yes, they DID "risk" - if the man had been a different sort - he MAY have come after them! THEY spoke up - would YOU have???? Heroes come in all sizes, shapes, and events.
I'm so glad you witnessed it and then followed up with it like that. It is so disturbing that she thought he was a friend, yet that didn't prevent this predator from trying to drug her without her knowledge. My hat's off to you ladies! You did something and prevented a crime!
What was so "heroic" about what they did? Nothing, they did what any decent conscientious person would do. Has society slipped so far that everyone who does the right thing is a hero? We should save the word hero for those that really deserve it, the ones who serve our country, and our communities, we need stop making everyone who does the right thing a hero.
I think as a society many people have become so involved in their own little worlds that they are afraid to act in moments like these which is truly sad. I agree that hero as a term is overused but sometimes “Good Samaritan” doesn’t seem strong enough. It’s like we need another term that represents this type of scenario.
I wish they'd jumped him and kicked his butt.
Glad that there are actual angels out there among us.
Not sure why the tape was needed in order to call the police. If they were called on suspicion of poisoning/drugging someone, then the police could take the drink and test it regardless, couldn't they? I mean, having the tape was great, but doesn't seem like that should have been the deciding factor in calling the police.
The tape is absolutely needed. Without it, the guy could claim he has no idea how the ecstasy got in there. He could say it came that way, or another patron in the establishment did it, or even say the girl herself did it and is blaming him. Having a tape depicting the guy in the act is the most important piece of evidence. The toxicology report of the contents shows what he added to it.
Sometimes it's hard to believe what kind of world we live in. I can't even understand that mentality, and that's coming from someone who was very unconfident around women before I got married. Well done for those ladies!
Angeles
Great story - BUT it wasn't three "girls" it was three WOMEN.
"Marnee DeRider 14 hours ago Nope. Hero is someone who risks their lives for others. They did the right thing. That is all." Bumping this comment because lefties don't agree so they downvote. I don't see why these girls are virtue signalling and wanting hero status for being normal humans.
What's with the titles calling grown women "girls" all of a sudden. Two posts in a row now.
I dunno, the hero's I know don't need to seek recognition for what we are all capable of. Common sense and empathy would see any decent person intervene. I'm getting tired of people seeking viral confirmation for what I consider a normal response.
I totally see what you're saying, but I'm glad for posts like this because it raises awareness about these situations and encourages people to say something if they see something.
