Goldfish Helps His Friend Who Is Too Sick To Swim And Eat, Shows That They Have Feelings Too
73Kviews
A remarkable video shows a pet goldfish helping his sick friend stay alive. The owner of the fish noticed that the darker of the two has a mobility problem and started wondering how it managed to survive for so long. He decided to solve the mystery by filming the secret life in the aquarium. The footage left him in awe…The goldfish was helping the sick friend to reach the food floating on the surface.
It is unclear what the driving factor behind the fish’s apparently benevolent behavior was. One thing is sure – with new scientific research emerging, we understand that these creatures are way more complex than we previously thought.
Jonathan Balcombe, the director of animal sentience with the Humane Society Institute for Science and Policy, writes: “As a biologist who specializes in animal behavior and emotions, I’ve spent the past four years exploring the science on the inner lives of fishes. What I’ve uncovered indicates that we grossly underestimate these fabulously diverse marine vertebrates. The accumulating evidence leads to an inescapable conclusion: Fishes think and feel.”

I had 2 large goldfish and lost one to swim bladder disease. The other was highly stressed for days, swimming up & down in one corner. I then brought home 3 little, skinny feeder goldfish. She just stayed back & watched them. For three days, she would just watch them eat when I fed, as they were very thin and famished. On the fourth day, she resumed eating. I am sure she was letting them have all the food on purpose. 18 months later, I now have 4 big fat goldfish.
I know this is completely unrelated but how do you write such long messages? It won't let me write more than this ->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I was going to ask the same thing
Perhaps they have special privileges from the website moderators to be able to post such long messages. Maybe high karma count, maybe they work for bored panda, or who knows why they can, are you on mobile it could be a factor on why you cannot post long messages like this, anyways this is getting kind of long and i just wanted to see how long i can make my message as a test.
My gold fish did same thing with a sick older goldy
Love seems to come naturally to animals.
I completely agree that love comes natural to animals..."We" have so much to learn.
