I recently came across a foundation called Vrikshit Foundation through a friend’s post. The moment I clicked on the post, I knew I wanted to know more. After a long interaction with the founder of the foundation about its goals and ambitions, Vrikshit Foundation earned a special place in my heart.

Based in India, Vrikshit Foundation was founded by Mr. Shankar Singh Rajput. They initiate weekly cleanliness drives in different parts of the country to help clean the environment. With over many branches of its foundation all over India, Vrikshit not only focuses on environmental issues but also social issues.

Whether it is helping children differentiate between good touch and bad touch, give sex education or women empowerment, Vrikshit does it all.

Vrikshit is currently looking for ambitious individuals to join its team and help make India a better place. The members of Vrikshit also visit slum areas to meet kids and give them education about sensitive issues ranging from sanitation to sex education. The members of the foundation proudly hold a broom in their hand and show the power of togetherness and teamwork.

When asked about their goals, Vrikshit’s answer was commendable. The foundation has designed a vision 2020 for Vrikshit which includes planting 10,000 trees and monitoring their growth besides making children aware of good and bad touch as well as fighting for women empowerment.

Vrikshit is currently seeking out for volunteers for their social as well as financial support. They are seeking out individuals who will join the foundation in the sanitation drives and the awareness campaigns. If somebody is living outside India, or in a place where Vrikshit doesn’t have a branch yet, they can support Vrikshit by either donating money for their tools such as broomsticks, gloves, masks etc or they can promote the foundation all over social media.

Being living in a world where more and more people are actively raising their voice against social issues and are immensely keen in making the world a better place, I think Vrikshit should definitely be considered as the light of rescue fighting against these issues.
