I find this dubious. Cutting anything in a grinder necessarily dulls the blades somewhat. Might it "clean out" some of the residue there? Maybe. But saying that it "sharpens" the blades has to be wrong. Let's take this to it's logical conclusion: according to him, a grinder that is used only for rice would never get dull. I could be wrong, but this sounds like something that keeps getting passed around but is ultimately based on nothing.

Anything hard like coffee beans, rice, or peppercorns will dull the blade. Use a slice of crunchy stale bread to clean it and pour out the breadcrumbs.
I've been advised by my plumber to use glass and/or broken ceramic pieces to sharpen the blades on my garbage disposal. I've never had a way to test this theory, but it hasn't broken the disposal yet either. I use a stone to sharpen knives and scissors, a file to sharpen other metal tools, so this tip sounds like it's feasible to me. I suppose I'll have to buy a coffee grinder and find out for myself.

There are a bunch of seemingly reputable sites on the internet that recommend this but to CLEAN the grinder, particularly to remove oil and dust residue from the coffee beans. This makes a bit more sense to me.

I've been making cinnamon flavored coffee for years; just pour ground cinnamon into the grinder before the beans. My grinder is about 20 years old and still grinds bean to almost-espresso consistency. Adding the cinnamon first also helps the grinder stay clean.

Actually, egg shells 🥚 work better: just wash them, and let them dry on the sun before blending. You can even use this shell dust as a calcium supplement in food. If you're not gonna use rice flour, this is kinda wasteful.

I haven't actually seen the videos themselves, which got me wondering whether it's possible that this guy actually includes a lot of caveats and exceptions in his videos that are not being communicated by THIS site in their headings for each item. They might want to think about that if it could lead to people damaging their property or getting injured.

The powder fumes is so fine, that they can easily explode, them put them into a coffee grinder with metal blades and an little engine to mix fast. Suddenly you have explosive powder and a really hot metal piece.
