Joe Biden has won the US presidential election—you go, Joe—but Trump isn’t here for it. The fact that Trump and other Republicans refuse to acknowledge the results of the election is worrying for some people.
There are concerns that the current POTUS, along with other Republicans, will do anything in order to stay in power. For quite a while now, Trump has been warning Americans that he won’t be accepting the loss of the election. For this reason, various organizations have begun publishing pieces explaining ways the President and his allies might turn a loss into a win. People are fearing a slide into authoritarianism if the current people in power decide to stop counting votes or allow Trump to stay in power when he didn’t win the election.
However (fortunately!), experts are saying that the coup is not likely to happen for various reasons. Still, a memo explaining 10 things everyone needs to know to stop a coup is being shared and reshared on different social media platforms. Scroll down below to read it.

The memo covering 10 things people need to know to stop a coup has been shared on various platforms. “Anyone running for office can say whatever they want to, but it’s the will of the voters that decides,” Van Jones—news commentator, author, and lawyer—wrote to his 1M followers on Facebook upon sharing the message.

“Democracy is fragile. We have reason to worry that this fall we may see an undemocratic power grab—a coup. We also know that the people can defend our democracy. However, as per recent events, experts don’t think there’s a high chance of a coup.
Talking to The Guardian via email, Richard Hasen, a law professor at the University of California, Irvine, who specializes in elections, said: “If the country continues to follow the rule of law, I see no plausible constitutional path forward for Trump to remain as president barring new evidence of some massive failure of the election system in multiple states. It would be a naked, antidemocratic power grab to try to use state legislatures to get around the voters’ choice and I don’t expect it to happen.”

The latest update, written on November 11 on the Choose Democracy website, reads: “Months ago we urged people to prepare in case of a coup. We told people to act decisively if a coup begins—because coups are often decided in days or weeks.
This scenario has unfolded differently. What we have seen has been slow, poorly rolled out, and has none of the surprise elements associated with a traditional coup.”

Yes, it can happen here. Wherever your "here" is. BTW, FYI, the military oath is to defend the United States, not swear loyalty to POTUS, and that POTUS is firing people he considers "disloyal" is possibly the most overt sign of dictatorial behavior we've seen yet.
I'm not sure why you're being downvoted, but you are correct. It's raising alarms that he's firing military officials from the pentagon and replacing them with loyalists.

If we were a true democracy, we wouldn't have the Electoral College and the cheeto wouldn't have been elected the first time around. Dum dum Bush wouldn't have gotten a 2nd term either. I think we need to focus more on getting rid of the EC so the people truly speak for the country's needs.
Sadly, it isn't that simple or even true. Five presidents did not win the popular vote, the elections were in 1824, 1876, 1888, 2000, and 2016. Voter suppression and outright cheating are more common problems. One of the state's elections qualified for a UN inspection We have supported their decision in other countries, but would never allow it here.

Read 'Violent Politics, A History of Insurgency, Terrorism & Guerrilla War from the America Revolution to Iraq' by William Polk. He explains, among other things, the social conditions leading to revolution. This is an incredible book and will show you another way to view the world around you. There aren't graphic descriptions of violence, it isn't about that.
As much as I hate what trump stands for I don't think he has the guts or the balls to pull of something like this. However he might feel empowered by his cult to try some serious destabilizing actions, amounting to a coup without being one. One can hold hostage a government in many different ways, look at all the places the US has tried to export their democracy to. Karma, the proverbial bitch, comes back to bite you in the ass. What goes around comes around. I for one could not imagine having to talk about a coup within a USA context. Although the US is in the grips of savage capitalism that dictates and permeates everything, that "coup" happened over time and they did it painlessly like slipping in a suppository. On the other hand there is the military who will hold up the constitution but what if the commander in chief gives an order that apparently lines up with the constitution? He has been using "national security2 for a long time now.
I want to hope so as well. I think the thing that worries us is that he does feel like he has a lot to lose after getting out of office - supposedly he has fears of going to prison, and he has lawsuits stacked against him. The other thing that is worrying is how easily Trump as president has been able to get away with so much. Even if we ignore the utter insanity of the premise that the Dems would attempt wide-scale fraud in a presidential election, think about the logistics. In order to carry out that level of fraud, it would need hundreds if not thousands of people across the country to be complicit. There is just no possible way that it could be done and escape detection. If fraud were really taking place there would be some credible evidence of it. It boggles my mind that so many people seem to believe that something like this could really be happening.
