For sure, living in 2021 can be exhausting sometimes. Society requires extra attention as nowadays, we're expected to behave, react and look a certain way. The majority of us are already used to this idea, and we're simply getting on with our days, doing things we might hate.
This article covers what online users have to say about this exact matter but in a more entertaining and relatable way. Things that are not overly personal, but for sure most people hate doing.
More specifically, the Reddit user that goes by the name @DionSinghLanda decided to brighten up our grey days and ask the online community, "what's something you're sure everyone is just pretending to like?" My life has enough drama with just myself and my family and friends.
They're like Greek gods. They only have the power the rest of us give them. Who's watching everything they do and liking and subscribing and whatever? We are. They wouldn't be doing it if there weren't thousands or millions of people hanging on their every word.

And yet, if you actually get any two people in a room together, without an audience to play to, just about anyone will get along with anyone. I make exceptions for actual psychopaths, but those are far, far less common than what Twitter would lead us to believe.

Hustle culture.
Overworking every day, in every aspect of life, has to burn you out. I think it gets to a point of vindictive “I suffered and so must you”, as well as weird masochism. You can be successful while maintaining boundaries, erasing them just sets a new and unattainable “normal”.
To anyone out there busting your a%@ working three jobs to survive, this isn’t directed at you! I’m talking about people who are relatively comfy, but throw their entire identity into work martyrdom. And bosses who use those people to work the rest of us to death.
Hustle culture is for entrepreneurs. If you’re just a worker, it doesn’t apply at all to you. If you’re an entrepreneur, there’s really no other way to go about things than this “hustle culture” way. Unless you just suck at making money. I lost my life / identity to running my own business. For now anyway. Once the Ms stack up a little more I’ll get out and just be a normal person again. It’s worth it. Hustle culture isn’t a lifelong thing.
I’ll tell you something that people are pretending to hate, Nickelback.
Someone decided they didn’t care for them, and that’s fine. Others just piled on because they didn’t wanna be the ones who liked Nickelback. But you don’t really hate them, you just do as you’re told.
I don't pretend to 'hate' (a very strong word) Nickelback, I just think their music is utterly crap. Other people might think the same about music I like...
I had the misfortune of meeting them in person and I can honestly say that in addition to intensely disliking their "music", I also intensely dislike the lead singer. When I met him, Chad Kreuger was an arrogant, predatory a**hole.

I've never understood the intense Nickelback hate. Sure everyone doesn't like all music and that's totally fine but I have no idea what makes them so hate-worthy and I have no idea how their music can be perceived to be *that* bad. This has been bugging me for a long time. I heard the band and, while I'm not blown away by them, I think they are fine. It's awful how so many forgot that there are actual human beings at the end of this trend.
Iirc, everyone and their great great grandmothers sang along and rocked to the song "Rockstar" i mean ffs, it was literally everywhere, then fast forward a couple years and everybody "hates" them. get real...
I like a couple of their songs (LOVE Leader of Men, to be honest) but, I do think most of their stuff is unremarkable. I did once see them in concert. They were part of a larger line-up that I was more interested in. They may not have been who I was there to see but MAN, they really do put on one hell of a show! Mediocre music, FANTASTIC stage presence.
Don’t even know Nickelback. I guess it’s a band? In that case: music is subjective. Everyone has their own taste and opinion of what good music is. No reason to hate a band. They can indeed just say it’s not their type of music. No idea why anyone would say to dislike it while they actually do. Misplaced peer-pressure perhaps.
I usually point out that like them or not, they probably make more money than you so they have to be dong something right.
This statement is so damn true. All bands are disliked musically by a certain amount of music listeners. Some more some less. With regards to Nickelback it just became popular to voice said disapproval and make jokes about them etc. That's all it is! They are still, years into that disapproval era, still a very successful band.
Feel the same about Nicklback as I do Ed Sheran....don't hate them just not on my playlist...but having said that my vision of Hell has 'Galway Girl' as background music...

Went to a Nickelback concert once. It sounded just like the album, there was zero interaction with the crowd and it lasted little over an hour. I didn't hate it, I was just disappointed that it would've cost less to just listen to the music at home, they did not provide the live in concert experience. In comparison: Bruce Springsteen. That guy is BEYOND EPIC
Twilight Series. My husband was on the bandwagon until I said don't judge a book/movie by it's "cover". He read the books and though they aren't really his thing he said he enjoyed them. 😊
I don't think anyone genuinely Hayes their music. It's far too bland to elicit an emotional response. What people hate is that such a beige band have so much success when there are thousands of really interesting bands creating unique music getting no recognition

I am a musician. I never listened to Nickelback on purpose and I have no opinion on them. Who knows? They may be good, but I have a lifetime of music that I know I like and little time to listen to it all.
Aesthetics is relative and nickelback hate is just a meme. Personally I hate mozart, and I have a large classic collection. It's just inane plinky plonk. But people will tell you it is great. Well good for you, enjoy it. Other people like RnB. Other people like Rap. Some like Pop. Aesthetics has no truths.
I think it's a combination of Craig's very raspy, whiny voice and the fact that they were throwing out song after song that became Canadian hits. Canada actually has a law that states 30% of music played on Canadian radios must be Canadian content.

So because someone liked a song as a kid and they remember a couple versus, that translates in your brain to they have to love it forever...? Sounds like you're embarrassed your taste in music never grew up, so you hate people who are supposedly, "faking their hatred." People develop & change. I hated steak and burgers growing up but now I love them. I used to love the Barbie Girl song but it makes me nauseated every time I hear it now.
They aren't my preferred genre but it doesn't matter, you still know their songs. You still sing along even if it's just in your head. I have a friend who has worked for them since before they were famous. They are apparently really good guys. Super nice and generous. He's traveled the world with them. So even though I'll never buy their albums I don't hate them. I don't even dislike them. They're just another band I don't listen too. But I appreciate that they've managed to stay good guys even being raked through the Hollywood meat grinder.

I can't stand them. Their music is just that generic type of crap that gets stuck in my head the second I even think of a line. While I don't hate the humans (they seem like genuinely nice people, and are from my province), I absolutely despise their music.
I genuinely dislike Nickelback. It's cheap easy lyric points because the lyrics are nonsense and in my opinion caters to people who aren't able to have very complicated thought processes

Pregnancy. In any other context the vast majority of women would hate gaining massive amounts of weight, puking, skin mapped with scars from blowing up so rapidly, feet and face swelling, nipples darkening and expanding, crying spells, etc. Obviously many are excited about the product of it, but I genuinely don’t believe all the women who say “I LOVE pregnancy! I LOVE getting fat and feeling like I have the flu for nine months! I feel so beautiful!”
I actually did love being pregnant. I didn't feel sick, I felt powerful. I didn't get fat til later. I didn't love labor, of course, but I loved making a new person and what my body could do. I did it in my early 20's though, so it was much easier, I imagine, than for people who waited til they were 40+. I have four kids, and I really did feel beautiful.
Working a corporate job and using phrases like "manage client expectations" and "circle back" and pretending to care about things that are absolutely irrelevant and meaningless to anything that actually matters in life.
Nerp. Not feeling this one. Managing client expectations is essential to make sure that there are no miscommunications, and to reduce unhappy customers. Until recently I sold glasses, and had a coworker always tell customers they would be ready in "a few days". Our policy was to book pick up appointments while they were ordering, but this co-worker never did this (or would just randomly schedule them in without actually asking them). This meant we constantly had unhappy customers because their idea of "a few days" was very different from this co-worker's. Also, circling back is just a shorthand for saying "we're clearly not getting anywhere on this right now, let's move on to something else and come back to it later"

I think this needs to be corrected to "Church on Sunday for people who don't really want to be there". There are many that feel very fulfilled including this in their life. The people that only go because they are "supposed to" or have been thought they should, yeah, I don't get why they go. Do what makes you happy! If that's church, great! If it isn't...don't do it.

My wife's sister is getting married in Mexico and invited us all to her resort wedding. Now I like my SIL and her future husband, but the rest of my in-laws are terrible and all I can think is it's going to be the most money I've ever spent to not have fun.

I have the tastebuds of a 4 year old - all alcohol tastes disgusting to me - with whiskey being the worst I've tasted. I rarely drink, but when I do, it's a mixed drink with a ton of sugar in it. Circumstances (other people) have brought me to Jameson in Dublin and Highland Park on the Orkney Islands where I have been offered trays of different vintages and types of whiskey. Completely wasted on me. As was the port wine cellar in Porto. I don't know why people bring me to these things.

It's probably weird for a 56yo white woman, but I actually like quite a bit of rap (Ice Cube, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, et alia). For me, the entire point of rap is the lyrics, the social commentary, the varying rhyme schemes and rhythmic way of speaking the lyrics. Mumble rap seems to be the anti-rap.

Office work- sorry hate me but homeoffice for me is the best thing ever. My pc is in the bedroom, so when I want to chill I go to the kitchen or in the living room. I am able to fart, eat or just to be grumpy in my pajama and still to work normal. I am able to work when my period comes without concern that I will make everything like one big mess . I love homeoffice

Silly posts, such as this one. BP seems to like to generate controversy lately, so one has to do a lot of eye rolling and move on. Also, the man-made "holidays" of Christmas, Halloween, etc., all but Thanksgiving. My entire family (sibling, parents, in-laws) called a halt to all but T-giving 25 years ago, and it's such a huge relief to never have to spend or pretend again. We all hated it, but thought everyone else in the fam liked it---nope, none of us did.
Food trends like charcoal. Any crazy food trend on the internet or social networks that everyone is like wow that is so amazing and I'm so adventurous for eating it give me likes
Being sad when some one dies. This is just a personal thing. I am not saying that anyone else is fake except me, and then, only out of respect for the survivors. To me, death is just part of life.
