that's because pockets are SO HANDY, and dresses and skirts hardly ever have them. it's seriously something i get excited about!
Dresses and skirts??? MOSTLY EVERY PIECE OF CLOTHING DIRECTED TOWARDS WOMEN!! We get fake pockets and tiny pockets but when something has pockets we are excited!!!! It's the little things in life.

I dont get why most women clothes dont have real big pockets. I only buy guys jeans because they are the only ones where i can fit my hands and phone.

This is so true, not only do I do it myself, but I came across an old photo from the 1870's and the woman's dress hand pockets! She obviously had her hands in them, I mean, how would we know they were there if she didn't? I got so excited, I had to call my husband over so I could show him another woman's pockets.
I absolutely need pockets - have constant Rhinitis and need tissues on me at all times.
It's because it took this long for male designers to realize women need pockets as much as men. SMH at women designers who tried to add them but were told they add a bad silhouette so they got nixed.

I don’t understand why pockets in dresses are so uncommon back when all women wore were dresses they had pocket like pouches that ether were tied around your waist or pinned there the petty coat even had slits in them to be able to use them

No, no fact check needed. Women get really stoked if we get dresses or skirts with pockets. I sorta makes me feel like a grown up!
It's like a little hidden surprise for us when we try the dress on. Pockets! It has pockets!! That means we most likely won't have to lug around a purse with all our junk in it. Pockets!!!!!
I only buy dresses now that have pockets, I've gone so far as to put pockets into my older dresses that didn't have them. Guys simply don't know how life is without pockets, all their clothes have them. I have pants and suit jackets with fake pockets, why? what devil decided that women don't need pockets? we have to carry tissues, lipstick, tampons, keys, snacks
You totally undervalue the presence of pockets. Try going without them for a couple weeks and you will be wishing for a dress with pockets!

this really bugs me because it defines "woman" as a cisgender woman and not all women are biologically female.
You know......... I stopped being easily offended 34 years ago. Works great. Saved a lot of energy. Doesn't have to go apeshit every time "the world is unfair" or even better- INTERNET is unfair... I'd be happy to read thought about typical problems for women who aren't born biologically female. I may not relate to it but I won't get offended either. Peace.
