Law, morality, and common sense aren’t always one and the same. We all have our own personal insights into what society does wrong and there’s no denying that there should (probably) be some new laws to improve everyone’s lives.

Well, Jimmy Fallon, the host of The Tonight Show, invited his followers to participate in the #ThereShouldBeALaw challenge. He asked them to tweet out their opinions about what new laws we should totally have.

We collected some of the very best responses, so scroll down, upvote the suggestions for new laws that you agree with, and remember to share them with your friends. If you have any ideas for laws yourselves, share your thoughts with everyone in the comments below.

When you’re done looking through this list, check out our previous posts about Jimmy’s challenges, including the dumbest family fights, ruining movies with one extra word, and the coldest insults they’ve gotten.

Bored Panda reached out to Abby Lampe, one of the people who responded to Jimmy Fallon and said that people who "can't use the correct use of too, to, two, and your, you're" should go to a mandatory workshop.

She believes that "a lot of people misuse homophones and although they may have been through the education system, they still have flawed grammar."

"I see it all the time throughout social media and people texting," Abby added.

"The law would be helpful for those who maybe were dropouts or didn’t take school very seriously. It would emphasize that grammar is important in today’s society and hopefully would allow them to understand the differences and how to use homophones correctly," she explained why such a law would actually be useful.

Abby told Bored Panda that she's a big fan of Jimmy's: "I’ve been in the audience and I’ve had two tweets appear on his show. I’ve been a fan for about 7 years now."

Bored Panda also spoke with Jesser who explained how there should be a law against using the same knife for peanut butter and jelly when making a sandwich.

According to the Twitter user, their family inspired them to come up with this law and they hope that this new law would teach people better manners and etiquette.

Jesser revealed that they're a fan of Jimmy's as well. "I rarely watched The Tonight Show before Jimmy Fallon was the host. He's fantastic!"

A lot of the things that people tweeted about in response to Jimmy’s challenge have to do with common sense. And you’re probably sick and tired of hearing this, but it’s applicable here: common sense is not common.

According to Dr. Jim Taylor on Psychology Today, common sense is one of the most “revered” qualities in the United States. Unfortunately, not a lot of people are as down to earth and practical as we might expect.

Taylor explains that if common sense were common, most people wouldn’t make the silly mistakes that they do every single day of their lives. In his opinion, if people had common sense, they wouldn’t “buy stuff they can’t afford.”

What’s more, they “wouldn’t smoke cigarettes or eat junk food.” In Taylor’s view, common sense is limited by our personal experience which can lead to bad decisions. In other words, for common sense to be common, we all need more education and worldly experience.

People should just mind their own business, seriously. People can speak whatever language they want... they're not hurting anyone! I commend people that frequently travel or after drive to pick up and move to an entirely different country. It's become so intolerable, I just don't get it

But what about morality not always being the same as the law? According to Dr. Eva Tsahuridu, the law “sets minimum standards of behavior while ethics set maximum standards.” That’s why something that’s legal doesn’t necessarily mean that we see it as acceptable or ‘good.’ It also works the other way, too: something that we consider to be ‘good’ doesn’t always become law. There’s an overlap between the two, sure, but they’re not one and the same.

However, that doesn’t mean that laws are useless. In fact, they’re vital for preserving civilization and allowing society to function. But it’s important to keep in mind that laws are very specific while morality is concerned with doing the right thing in life as a whole.

Amendment: And companies should provide employees with paid (or at least reduced pay) sick days. Lots of companies don't have paid sick days, so even if you're not going to get fired for staying home... you are gonna miss out on your pay for the day. People who need every dime they make will often go to work sick because they can't afford to lose that money and that's equally unfair.

I did not know "sick days" existed prior coming to US. You are sick, you go to the doc and not to work, no penalties no reduced pay, no questions asked. Silly me for thinking other countries would have similar laws

I worked at a daycare for 6 years. Our management would be livid if we called-out due to illness. Yet, the children we're always sick and we were required to have one-on-one, face-to-face time with them. It was ridiculous. Not to mention the insurance sucked. Parents would get upset because their children were always getting sick, which is understandable since most of them were responsible enough to keep their kids home if they were sick. Employees, however, were required to come in unless they were borderline in the hospital.

It's actually a law already. It's just that there are too many loopholes for that law. If there's no proof that you are sick, then it doesn't count as a sick leave so you still have to go to work. And this is stupid because you'll actually have to get a check up to confirm you're sick and end up spending money instead of earning money so people just don't even try

Once when I worked at Smith's Marketplace many years ago, a girl that worked there was told she would get in serious trouble if she missed work even though she had the flu. She came in and was in the bathroom probably every 10-15 minutes or so and finally she just grabbed her stuff and walked out. She worked as a cashier by the way.

Especially if it's catching. This goes double, more than double for schools. Schools make a big deal of ATTENDANCE!!! They don't give a damn if the kids learn anything, just so they show up because the school gets money based on the head count.

You should never have to request time off to be sick - that's mad. If you're too ill to work or might risk compromising other people's health then it should be a given that the person stays at home. I definitely don't want my staff coming in and infecting me! I've sent people home thanks! Plus, most times when sick people are at work they aren't working up to their best standard, are likely to make mistakes and will probably infect the rest of the department - and there'll be people in that group that go off sick, there always is. All in all it results in a greater financial impact on the company than if the first person had the time off. Ridiculous attitude these companies have! I'd suggest you all emigrate quite frankly.

I worked job in human services years ago. I called my boss one Sunday morning while wrapped around the toilet too sick to come in. She said I would have to get a drs note AND find coverage for my shift. Geuss who dragged her sick, contagious a*s in to work around medically fragile people. Yep. This girl.

Ooh - what sort of job is in human services that's around medically fragile people? Sorry, I'm simply being nosy. Though your boss was an utter pratt. Generally speaking, finding staff to do the work when someone is sick is the line manager's job - that's part of why they are being paid to manage staff. As for needing a doctors note, doctors don't want virus-ridden people in their offices either. People should be able to self-certify for the first few days and then only need a doctors certificate (how it is legally in the UK). If staff abuse this then it pretty quickly becomes obvious and they can be dealt with appropriately.

Yes, but unless someone is in the middle of an epidemic most people aren't going to know the virus type without a blood test. If you're having a blood test you're probably able to get signed off by a doctor.

I actually didn't realize until recently how huge of a problem this is. This is a documentary I bumped into not too long ago, and it angered me beyond belief. This couple blatantly admitted having children so they could be taken care of. It's one thing when nature takes its course, and something happens where a parent needs constant care. It's a whole nother ballgame when parents have children only to have someone to take care of them. So angering. https://youtu.be/wzJDpEzpQug
