Societies are built on the balance between right and wrong. Cliché as it may be, we all need something more than our personal moral compass to guide us along. After all, we all have different perceptions, but the law—outright and clear—allows us to navigate society.

Every child is taught what's fundamentally good and what isn't. But what happens when people start looking for loopholes? Well, people on Reddit raised an interesting question about what should be considered illegal from their point of view, even if the thing or action is not explicitly forbidden by the law.

People jumped at the chance to criticize anything from laws to societal structures; children's beauty pageants didn't escape without scathing comments thrown their way and the governmental ruling sparked more than one discussion. Someone even raised a very valid question about Naboo's blockade (if you know, you know).

The Reddit thread, started by user Musuhubber, caught the attention of more than 68K redditors, with 36K comments. And the issues that are being discussed are quite valid or, at the very least, the thread is a good place to vent after your day was disturbed by an unasked-for solicitor.

Child marriage is bad enough when both parties are still children but when one party is a child and the other is an adult, that's government-sanctioned pedophilia.

Recently in Yemen, an 8 year old girl had to marry a 40 year old man and died on her "wedding night" of severe internal and vaginal injuries. I'm 40 and it makes me angry and sick to my core.

This isn’t something that only appends in other countries. This happens all the time in the United States. There are parts of the deep South that this is normal and is ignored. Older men married to really young girls ... it’s illegal but ignored!

This isn’t normal anywhere in the US. It is legal in a lot of places and there are terrible cases of it happening, but it isn’t a norm.

I am personally not per definition against child marriage, HOWEVER, this is because a 17 year old is also 'a child' legally in most countries. In the UK, they are allowed to marry and that's fine. AS LONG AS THERE IS GENUINE CONSENT ON BOTH PARTIES AND THEY KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES.

Child marriage is largely connected to poverty. In some African countries, it's as high as 70%. Logic being - girl has to be married anyway....so marry early, husband's family will take care. Also, during ancient societies, invaders used to target young unmarried girls....so parents saw merit in getting the girl married as soon as possible to safeguard her.

I once got horribly HORRIBLY sick and was out for three days straight. I sounded like death warmed over and had a doctor's note, too. Boss says "I don't care, come in anyway." I came in. Boss hears me hacking up a lung. Boss says "You sound horrible, what are you doing here, you're going to get me sick, go home now!!!" I go home, start feeling better after a day or two, and want to come back. Boss says, "I don't believe you, you have to stay home another two days." This uses up my last remaining sick days. At the end of the year during my review, the boss says, "You used all your sick days. That is unacceptable. I should fire you right now." I can't imagine why I don't work for him anymore.
