There are always people who think they deserve more than everybody else. They constantly ask for a discount, try to gorge on more freebies than they can carry, never tip, and always try to get things for free. And there’s a specially dedicated place for them called “Choosing Beggars,” a 2.2M-strong subreddit that collects the most hilariously embarrassing cases.
And you may think that Thanksgiving, a national holiday which essentially encapsulates the word and the meaning giving, would stop them. Well, not really. Apparently, the festivity may as well serve as a perfect opportunity to have all its perks without putting in all the effort or losing a dime.
So this time we collected some of the most crazy examples of beggars in action: Thanksgiving edition. After you’re done, be sure to check out our previous posts with people whose ego and entitlement is too big for this tiny world here, here and here.

“Volunteer To Wait On My Family At Thanksgiving”
Great. She can do the same for me when I need my 5 indoor kitties fed, watered and poopy-scooped twice a day for a week while I'm at my family reunion. Oh, wait. Where'd she go?
Invite Us To Your Thanksgiving! But Only If You Have These Things And We Will Only Bring Dessert. Tia
This Thanksgiving may have been the most expensive one for the host so far. How come? Well, it turns out that agricultural economists, farmers and grocery executives predicted that nearly every component of the traditional American Thanksgiving dinner, from the disposable aluminum turkey roasting pan to the coffee and pie, come at a higher price this year.
Interestingly, last year, the cost of a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 was the lowest it had been since 2010, the American Farm Bureau reported. So what on earth has happened? Turns out that last year, during the height of the pandemic, everyone was laying low with celebrations, and very few people were buying groceries for big gatherings. Grocery sellers were keeping the prices of the Thanksgiving staple—turkey—pretty low to attract the shoppers.

But after the global vaccination, the world has opened up and big gatherings resumed as if they had never stopped. So did the demand for turkey and other foods, whose prices have been soaring rapidly this past year.
The New York Times suggests that we shouldn’t look for a single culprit to explain the phenomenon. According to them, the nation’s food supply has been battered by a knotted supply chain, high transportation expenses, labor shortages, trade policies and bad weather. Inflation is at play, too.
A Thanksgiving Choosing Beggar Who Thinks Meals Should Be Free
I don't see a problem with this? If she's no takers, then no one with $15 is interested. But I bet there are people that can swing for that amount that can't or don't want to cook their own dinner. She's not expecting homeless people to buy it.

Numbers also speak for themselves. The Consumer Price Index for food was up 4.6 percent from a year ago in September, while the prices for meat, poultry, fish and eggs soared a whopping 10.5 percent. For those wondering what’s up with the sky-high turkey prices, it may have to do with the fact that the price of corn, which most commercial turkeys feed on, more than doubled in some parts of the country from July 2020 to July 2021.
The Department of Agriculture turkey report released on Friday has also stated that whole frozen birds already cost 25 cents/pound more than they did a year ago. With much bigger holiday celebrations than last year, the demand for festive foods is likely not going anywhere, so there’s a slim chance you’ll get your hands on a turkey bargain.

Well it would be awkward to wear the NIKE AIR VAPORMAX FLYKNIT3 (Size 8) without socks, heh.

Load More Replies...Sounds like a list that my 18yr old daughter would post on her FB 🤦♀️😂😂😂😂😂😂. With me being a smartass I would had told her to "get a job and you will have those things AFTER you fork up your $100 rent or go beg your dad" Sounds like the person who did this list is probably my daughter's age maybe a year or to older. So if I saw this list on FB knowing this person is between 18-25 (since they said something about paying for their textbooks) I would tell em to quit begging for handouts get a damn job
What kind of person does this? Sounds like a pre-teen or a teenager. Hopefully we have no adults like this???
Asking to pay for textbooks indicates this person is in college.
Load More Replies...My wishlist includes; two week vacation in the Bahamas. All expenses paid, including tips and of course airfare. Appropriate clothing for Bahamian vacation, gift cards preferred. A new dishwasher including installation, my backyard professionally landscaped, with pond and waterfall. New roof. I'll update when I think of more things so there will be plenty to choose from.TIA. You'll make my Christmas.
Wow.. just this person is revolting./ you want all that stuff- BUY IT YOURSELF!!! Side story: I became a triple amputee 8.5 years ago, technically through no fault of my own.. and someone I went to school with did a gofund me for me and didn’t tell us for about a week.. I was MORTIFIED! I am so embarrassed and asked her to take it down but she refused because she found out the price of a few things I needed for when I got to go home.. I am so, so grateful for everyone who helped and I had messages left on there from me every week thanking everyone so, so much. I have never forgotten what everyone did to help me. Still so embarrassed but so grateful. There were people I went to primary school with that helped and they all said they remembered me.. most of them said they did because of how I was the only person who was nice to them and was their friend.. and they remembered that from decades ago… People can be very kind. People can also be selfish, demanding toads..
Who posts Gimme Presents lists on Facebook anyways? Im so glad my parents taught me manners & commonsense. 😂
I've never understood people that post their wishlists like this. Not to mention, her music is s**t.
If they're older than 15 they have really shitty taste in music... I'd be getting them a ticket to see someone decent.
Socks i can do. Or anything? How bout a book on manners. Oooo i might even throw in a fun deck of cards
Ew. There will be a day when this girl learns that money and things don't make you truly happy or cool. Gon be rough for her on that day.
You can have a human sized lump of coal and socks for the rest of your mortal days and like it, brat!
The fact that people find this behavior both appropriate and subtlety "cute" is disgusting. People are dying, children are starving but this girl is convinced she's the center of the universe.
I think the shoe size points to the poster more likely to be male.
Load More Replies...How about a lump of coal to keep warm instead of that $30 beanie 🥴
These seem like normal gifts. The only unappealing part really is that someone is named Brantley.
"Black Friday starts today so get to shopping!" 😬 I don't even know what half of these things/people are, which means they're probably hella expensive. Looks like they're some spoiler upper middle class college student living off mama and daddy's money. Plus something tells me they're gonna throw a fit if they don't get every one of those concert tickets.
I noticed this on many of the giving trees in people's offices and businesses. The majority of the requests were from 7-11 year olds asking for iPhones and Nintendo Switches. Honey..if I had that kind of money, I'd be getting it for my own family. How about scaling it back a bit and asking for something that is cheaper..like a lego set or books. Heck..even a Kindle is cheaper.
Bwahahahah! Santa says "Greedy children aren't on the Nice list. " sucks to be you.
The usps santa drive is also like this. You pick a person or family and there is a christmas list. Some of the items were hundreds of dollars each.
My list: every f*****g thing you own. Put it in the bag, now. Coz I deserve it right, omg it's not like I ask for much
If someone has all their extended family on their social media, and keeps getting adopted what they want for Christmas, this is a way to let everyone know. If they are asking strangers for gifts, that's another thing, but this seems like a list made for family who will all see it on social media
To those who think that the entitled person is the original poster, it's not. It's the person in the comments section. Op was being considerate by posting their wish list before black Friday; there's clearly people in the past who've stressed themselves out because they don't know what to get, so op made it easy for them

I came here expecting gold and free cars and a Turkey, and all I got was LEFTOVERS. You ruined my children's lives with your shitty charity. For shame (It's sarcasm but that was still painful to even write!)

I was just thinking this. It was never this bad, before 2000 ish? Not sure. But how did it get so bad? People don't get their way, and they won't budge. Or if someone won't give in, that person is automatically selfish and the cause of problems where others suffer. I really am curious as to why this is so bad. Sure, some people were never told 'no'. Some people just don't stand up to these people, so their behavior is basically enabled. But why else? If this wasn't a big issue before, how and why is it so bad? I want to understand what happened. (Sorry for the rant)
Load More Replies...This is about the 7th post this week where people can share how horrible their friends and family are on Thanksgiving. Does BP have any new ideas?

I'm so glad my country doesn't have any thanksgiving-like holiday, even christmas with just parents and one of my sisters is a bit chaotic.. Couldn't imagine whole family x.x

I can't imagine the scale of Thanksgiving in the US. Can you not just... miss one year if you can't afford it? Does it have to be a gigantic meal with turkey and trimmings? Can't you just get together with family over a few beers, or just chill at home?
Dodo, I agree. For my family (me, my husband and son), we spend a relaxed day at home and never have the huge turkey dinner that seems traditional. It seems a dubious holiday, at best. We spend a moment sharing what each of us is grateful for. That seems a better way to spend the day.

Wow, just wow. We don’t have Thanksgiving here, but just like Christmas, isn’t the company you have more important than the food? Yeah, it’s nice to have a fancy meal, but it’s not the be all and end all of an occasion. We have extended family Christmas and we take turns hosting it, but everyone pitches in and brings food or drinks. Honestly, I wouldn’t care if it was eating bread and butter as long as I was with those I loved
These people are very messed up in the head, surely they have a lot of mental and emotional problems and obviously we not raised right. Sounds awful to be them. They probably don't even understand why no one wants to be around them. Many probably only think of themselves because they've been in survival mode all their life. And done of them might literally be sociopaths, there's that too. But honestly I just feel bad for them.
When did it become something to be proud of that you are a beggar? I was raised that you should be happy/ proud when you can help others less fortunate. And if you are on the needing end, you ask quietly and work your ass off to get out of that situation. I still find the thought of bankruptcy humiliating ( it equals failure).
I can't truly grasp the audacity in these people. If you can call them that. When someone extends kindness, either accept with gratitude or decline with grace. Never ever believe others owe it to you. If growing up poor has thought me anything, it's okay to be lacking in material things as long as your dignity is in tact.
Most of this list was just Board Panda and Pandas shaming poor people and non native speakers. Really disappointed and disgusting right now.
it DEFINITELY does. It's just a lot more public and focused in America.
