There are always people who think they deserve more than everybody else. They constantly ask for a discount, try to gorge on more freebies than they can carry, never tip, and always try to get things for free. And there’s a specially dedicated place for them called “Choosing Beggars,” a 2.2M-strong subreddit that collects the most hilariously embarrassing cases.

And you may think that Thanksgiving, a national holiday which essentially encapsulates the word and the meaning giving, would stop them. Well, not really. Apparently, the festivity may as well serve as a perfect opportunity to have all its perks without putting in all the effort or losing a dime.

So this time we collected some of the most crazy examples of beggars in action: Thanksgiving edition. After you’re done, be sure to check out our previous posts with people whose ego and entitlement is too big for this tiny world here, here and here.

Great. She can do the same for me when I need my 5 indoor kitties fed, watered and poopy-scooped twice a day for a week while I'm at my family reunion. Oh, wait. Where'd she go?

Invite Us To Your Thanksgiving! But Only If You Have These Things And We Will Only Bring Dessert. Tia

Invite Us To Your Thanksgiving! But Only If You Have These Things And We Will Only Bring Dessert. Tia

okimadeone Report

This Thanksgiving may have been the most expensive one for the host so far. How come? Well, it turns out that agricultural economists, farmers and grocery executives predicted that nearly every component of the traditional American Thanksgiving dinner, from the disposable aluminum turkey roasting pan to the coffee and pie, come at a higher price this year.

Interestingly, last year, the cost of a Thanksgiving dinner for 10 was the lowest it had been since 2010, the American Farm Bureau reported. So what on earth has happened? Turns out that last year, during the height of the pandemic, everyone was laying low with celebrations, and very few people were buying groceries for big gatherings. Grocery sellers were keeping the prices of the Thanksgiving staple—turkey—pretty low to attract the shoppers.

But after the global vaccination, the world has opened up and big gatherings resumed as if they had never stopped. So did the demand for turkey and other foods, whose prices have been soaring rapidly this past year.

The New York Times suggests that we shouldn’t look for a single culprit to explain the phenomenon. According to them, the nation’s food supply has been battered by a knotted supply chain, high transportation expenses, labor shortages, trade policies and bad weather. Inflation is at play, too.

I don't see a problem with this? If she's no takers, then no one with $15 is interested. But I bet there are people that can swing for that amount that can't or don't want to cook their own dinner. She's not expecting homeless people to buy it.

Numbers also speak for themselves. The Consumer Price Index for food was up 4.6 percent from a year ago in September, while the prices for meat, poultry, fish and eggs soared a whopping 10.5 percent. For those wondering what’s up with the sky-high turkey prices, it may have to do with the fact that the price of corn, which most commercial turkeys feed on, more than doubled in some parts of the country from July 2020 to July 2021.

The Department of Agriculture turkey report released on Friday has also stated that whole frozen birds already cost 25 cents/pound more than they did a year ago. With much bigger holiday celebrations than last year, the demand for festive foods is likely not going anywhere, so there’s a slim chance you’ll get your hands on a turkey bargain.

This person has a serious, serious attitude problem. It's very clear that her mantra is "see how hard things are" as she says in one of her msgs. She also expects other ppl serve her solutions to all her problems without any effort from herself at all.

@Gini Sarver thank you so much for pointing that out. Most of the women that Planned Parenthood help are ladies who are looking for personal care, keeping the fetus/child, and preventing an unwanted pregnancy. They really help low income women who are struggling and don't have the money to go to a private doctor. I'm so tired of the ranting and raving when people don't know what they are talking about.

On the 'EDIT' the poster says she was verbally assaulted. I must've missed that?! The person just said she was no longer comfortable having the poster in her home.... but apparently that was enough to be considered assault. ??

You may have opinions on everything. You may not like other people's opinions or choices, but to make demands on other people for your "holiday" is beyond "entitled" we are now into a$$ kissing demands.

Thanksgiving is many things, but why treat invites like job applications. A simple "Thank you for the offer, but it's too far," is more than sufficient. Poor dog.

This person, is the worst type of person. If she put half as much effort into bettering her situation as she does into making excuses for it, then maybe she wouldn't be seeking charity.

They don't want help or advice, they want to complain and win a game of "who has it worse" only they're playing. Gives a bad reputation to anybody who's really suffering and in need for help.

Not asking a lot, is she 🙄 She literally asked for Thanksgiving in/around DC, but Bethesda is too far? Bethesda is the definition of "around," as it's right over the DC line. Centerville is farther from DC than Bethesda is!

That's fine. She's free to stay at home with her dog and miss the holidays. Better than anyone inviting her picky ass into their home and her being an ungrateful welp the entire time.

The entitlement and ‘holier and better than thou’ attitude… the demands. I can see why they have no family or friends around.. I also fail to see how that woman who offered to let her come into her home and eat, ‘verbally assaulted’ her? The beggar started with the UNNECESSARY insults! 🤦🏼‍♀️. Entitled and a total arseh*le too.. 🙄

If I was looking for a free community event, a stranger offering me a seat at their table would not interest me in the slightest. A lot of these posts are about offering people what they didn’t ask for and then publicly shaming them for not accepting one’s grand benevolence and largesse. People who need a helping hand have their unique preferences. They should have those preferences respected and be granted the dignity to say “no, thank you” without their personal choices being aired by the so-called charitable.

But that's not what happened here...she declined because the person supports Planned Parenthood and then claimed she was verbally assaulted in the comments. If she had simply said "no thank you, I'm looking for a community event" there wouldn't be a problem.
