There are always people who think they deserve more than everybody else. They constantly ask for a discount, try to gorge on more freebies than they can carry, never tip, and always try to get things for free. And there’s a specially dedicated place for them called “Choosing Beggars,” a 2.2M-strong subreddit that collects the most hilariously embarrassing cases.
And you may think that Thanksgiving, a national holiday which essentially encapsulates the word and the meaning giving, would stop them. Well, not really. Apparently, the festivity may as well serve as a perfect opportunity to have all its perks without putting in all the effort or losing a dime.

It sounds like a grave learning disability. The woman coming off as demanding and egotistical might just be very very bad at parsing written words. She kept repeating herself because she probably couldn’t understand that the recipient had understood her question and all the reasons she gave long ago, and she very clearly didn’t really grasp the main points of the conversation. Tbf my fam has a lot of food allergies so we couldn't have taken precooked food either but I definitely would've handled it differently. That and sometimes autistic kids have sensory issues with food so it needs to be prepared a certain way.

The sense of entitlement is just getting worse!! I didn’t think it was possible..! This woman’s thoughts are basically: “ I was one of the first in line! I’ll try to use this for pity; My grandkids have autism like millions of others so I SHOULD GET PRIORITY! I want free food. But I don’t want it precooked, cause you might do bad things to it.. even though the woman cooking for everyone has done it for 4 years and fed closing in on a thousand people… I want the food itself, raw. Bring it to me. For free. But don’t come to my house, I don’t want strangers here.. I’ll cook it because I don’t trust strangers to touch my food.. but I’ll take their food for free. I can’t leave the house or walk, but I’ll cook it. I’ll get the food, the whole family will scoff it down without even thanking anyone, they’ll be no leftovers.. Then I’ll complain online About how nobody helps anyone else anymore even though they gave me the food for free and we ate all of it!’ I hate people.

Numbers also speak for themselves. The Consumer Price Index for food was up 4.6 percent from a year ago in September, while the prices for meat, poultry, fish and eggs soared a whopping 10.5 percent. The Department of Agriculture turkey report released on Friday has also stated that whole frozen birds already cost 25 cents/pound more than they did a year ago. I was just thinking this. It was never this bad, before 2000 ish? Not sure. But how did it get so bad? People don't get their way, and they won't budge. Or if someone won't give in, that person is automatically selfish and the cause of problems where others suffer. I really am curious as to why this is so bad. Sure, some people were never told 'no'. Some people just don't stand up to these people, so their behavior is basically enabled. But why else? If this wasn't a big issue before, how and why is it so bad? I want to understand what happened. I'm so glad my country doesn't have any thanksgiving-like holiday, even christmas with just parents and one of my sisters is a bit chaotic.. Couldn't imagine whole family x.x

I can't imagine the scale of Thanksgiving in the US. Can you not just... miss one year if you can't afford it? Does it have to be a gigantic meal with turkey and trimmings? Can't you just get together with family over a few beers, or just chill at home?
Dodo, I agree. For my family (me, my husband and son), we spend a relaxed day at home and never have the huge turkey dinner that seems traditional. It seems a dubious holiday, at best. We spend a moment sharing what each of us is grateful for. That seems a better way to spend the day.

Wow, just wow. We don’t have Thanksgiving here, but just like Christmas, isn’t the company you have more important than the food? Yeah, it’s nice to have a fancy meal, but it’s not the be all and end all of an occasion. We have extended family Christmas and we take turns hosting it, but everyone pitches in and brings food or drinks. Honestly, I wouldn’t care if it was eating bread and butter as long as I was with those I loved
These people are very messed up in the head, surely they have a lot of mental and emotional problems and obviously we not raised right. Sounds awful to be them. They probably don't even understand why no one wants to be around them. Many probably only think of themselves because they've been in survival mode all their life. And done of them might literally be sociopaths, there's that too. But honestly I just feel bad for them.
When did it become something to be proud of that you are a beggar? I was raised that you should be happy/ proud when you can help others less fortunate. And if you are on the needing end, you ask quietly and work your ass off to get out of that situation. I still find the thought of bankruptcy humiliating ( it equals failure).
I can't truly grasp the audacity in these people. If you can call them that. When someone extends kindness, either accept with gratitude or decline with grace. Never ever believe others owe it to you. If growing up poor has thought me anything, it's okay to be lacking in material things as long as your dignity is in tact.
Most of this list was just Board Panda and Pandas shaming poor people and non native speakers. Really disappointed and disgusting right now.
