This Sheep Cafe In Korea Shares Viral Photos Of A Sheep Getting Washed

You’ve heard of cat cafes, now get ready for… a sheep cafe! Of course, none other than Koreans have come up with the genius idea to combine our undying love for sheep and coffee. Thanks Nature Cafe is one of Seoul’s oldest animal cafes where its customers can come to the separate pen outside the cafe to pet the beautiful, fluffy sheep that live there.

The cafe opened its doors back in 2011 when the trend of animal cafes was just starting to grow. People on TripAdvisor seem to have loved their visits to the Thanks Nature Cafe, so next time you end up in Seoul, why not visit it?

Recently, these photos of a lamb getting bathed went viral

You’ve probably seen those photos popping up on your Instagram/Facebook/you name it feed every now and then. Just days after they were shared on Instagram, the photos went viral, attracting crazy amounts of likes and retweets.

The pictures that were shared on various social media platforms show a lamb that’s getting a bath. From a beige curly gal, this lamb turned into a magnificently fluffy snowball.

We decided to track down the original source of the photos and wound up finding one of the coolest places on this planet—Thanks Nature Cafe. But it’s not a regular cafe, it’s a *cool* cafe.

As it turns out, the lamb is one of the animals living in the Thanks Nature Cafe

Back in 2011, one of the first animal cafes ever was opened in Seoul, South Korea—and, as you probably already guessed, yes, it’s a sheep cafe!

The cafe has two sections. In one of them, you can drink coffee or your beverage of choice and try some desserts, while in the other—you get to meet and pet these beautiful lambs.

The cafe’s owner, Lee Kwang-ho, is surprised that his “sheep restaurant” is gaining attention from all around the world. “I don’t know how this place was known to the world, but I had visitors from all over the world coming to see my sheep, from Macedonia, Saudi Arabia, New Zealand, even some countries I don’t know well,” he told one news outlet back in 2015.

These two lambs of the cafe are named William and Bentley

It is one of the first animal cafes in Korea, which gained popularity back in 2015, as it was the year of the sheep

Cafe visitors can go to a specially designed area where the sheep roam

At the moment, the sheep cafe houses two lambs named William and Bentley. “The animals look happy, well-fed and receive a lot of love from everyone. They are cute and chubby,” one customer writes on the TripAdvisor website.

The Thanks Nature Cafe has been named as one of “the 9 cutest animal cafes in the world” by Smart Travel website and it’s really not hard to see why. The cafe is also listed as 35th of the 1,188 best dessert places in Seoul.

Naturally, nobody can possibly resist their cuteness

And the sheep seem to be loving all the attention

So next time you’re in Seoul, pop up to this cafe to say hi to these beautiful creatures!

Of course, people love giving these beautiful lambs attention as well! “We had a great time here! Tom and Jerry (sheep) were so fluffy and soft. The food at the cafe was super yummy. You can tell the sheep are well looked after and happy. The owner was very kind and gentle with the sheep and he was very pleasant with us as well. If you have children I would definitely visit this cafe! Even if you don’t have children the sheep are cute and the food yummy,” one visitor from China writes on TripAdvisor.

Omg, I've been to that cafe!) So cool) And the fluffies seem to have a generally good time, they have their own space and are not overfed (which is an issue for a lot of animal cafes). Also, the cafe sells really delicious desserts, some of which are shaped like sheep!

What "their own space" means? Do they have an outside place in the backyard? Do they get to see the sky every day or they keep them inside?

Its actually not great to wash sheep much. they have a natural oil in their wool Lanolin ( its also used in hand creams) that helps condition and waterproof their coat. Washing strips it out. Thats why the washed sheep looks frizzy and poodle like

They produce lanolin 24/7. As long as their fleece isn't overwashed (and it looks like these guys are not exactly going to get a chance to roll in dirt), they'll be fine.

I've been there and at first I was super excited. The sheep are indeed very well cared, and the place is clean, but while drinking my juice there, I noticed that the sheep cry / yell a lot. I initially thought is not big deal that they make that be-he-he sound from time to time, but then I started wondering if they might suffer of loneliness and nature deprivation: these animals leave in big flock, and in nature, not just 2 isolated in an improvised stable at the basement of a building. Sounds cool, but all my initial excitement turned into mercy - just my feeling; I'd bring more of them there, or none.

I'm positive that you picked up on the truth of the matter. I think I wouldn't felt that way, too. I am a person who can't go to the zoo. I find the zoo to be depressing.

I'll be taking my 2yo this year. She loves animals and as a country girl myself, I think being around (farm) animals is important. Need to learn to appreciate and respect animals from a young age ^^

This be is an awful thing to do, it's unnecessary. By washing it you are removing the lanolin, that greasy stuff that helps the sheep to regulate heat. It will now feel colder all for so called amusement because it looks cute.... was it ugly before. It is supposed to be a farm animal. Hideous treatment

My dumbass thought the person was spraying the lamb with hair dye or whatever when I initially saw the first pic, and how beautifully white she was thereafter.
