Terry Crews Reveals How He Was Sexually Assaulted By Someone In Hollywood And Why He Kept Silent
Over the last month, Hollywood has been rocked by a series of disturbing sexual assault allegations against film producer Harvey Weinstein, igniting a heated debate on rape culture and the responsibility of celebrities and Hollywood actors to protest it, with it all culminating with the birth of action called ‘Me Too.’ Actor and former football player Terry Crews has bravely come forward to add his voice to the discussion and has shared a troubling and unexpected sexual harassment story on Twitter about his own traumatizing experience with a Hollywood executive.
Crews’ sexual abuse admission comes in response to an exposé published by The New York Times on October 5th. The report revealed widespread Hollywood sex scandal and abusive acts committed by Miramax co-founder Harvey Weinstein toward multiple women, including actress Ashley Judd. Others, such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie, have also claimed unwanted advances from Weinstein.
“Hopefully, me coming forward with my story will deter a predator and encourage someone who feels hopeless,” Crews concluded his emotional thread. Scroll down to find out what he wrote, and how the Internet reacted on this sex scandal ordeal.

Share on FacebookGreat that he speaks out, abuse doesn't only happen to women and men are often in an even more awkward position. Especially if the abuse comes from a woman, because that always gets a touch of "oh come on, you secretly liked it".
Especially since people can't understand the disconnect between the reaction to physical stimuli and the emotional and physical violation. And since men get fairly easily and very visibly aroused, it's used as an argument against them that surely, if they were aroused, they surely wanted it. The victims often end up half-believing that as well, which is really damaging. But if someone tickles you, even if you really don't want to be tickled... the reaction is out of your control.
Load More Replies...I know it takes a lot for a victim to come forward . I read in a report, i think it got a pulitzer, that authority generally blame the victim. But there are so so many victims, it's just heartbreaking. Even if the culprit gets caught it is too late. you see the trail of victims and devastated lives of people.I understand his perspective but sometimes you can't help but wonder what if it could have been stopped earlier. How many lives it could save.
My co host an over 6 ft giant man made me so proud when during our podcast he came out with his own story of sexual assault. This isn't a male female thing. Rape is about power
Well done to Terry Crews. It's an awful situation knowing that these predators know that they hold ALL the aces. Terry'd have been applauded if he did kick this guy's a*s.
Thanks Terry, for all the reasons why it is so hard to fight this kind of abuse. When you have to choose between your dignity and your livelihood it is a tough choice.
Why didn't she/he fight back???? That's the question that is always asked. If Terry Crews can't fight back then I'm hoping people get the flood of emotions, confusion, shame that washes over you when something like this happens.
Look i understand your skepticism but not believing a victim, because of other attributes (like status or size) is generally the first mistake most law enforcement make. This phenomena is well documented and reported. This is the reason why victims don't come forward, because of the prejudices they face. I am sorry, although i understand your view, your comment is wrong. Give Terry the benefit of the doubt.
Terry has been extremely forward and open about his struggles and his principles. I personally have zero reason not to believe him, considering how ostracizing it could be to even come forward with that experience. He felt he had to, if only in support of the women who have made accusations, because he knows very personally how easily it happens. Even more respect for him.

The male systems analyst routinely had his hand in the blouse and up the skirt of female employees. In the tape volt he attacked us (kissing). We told our (female) director. It was more important to keep the male analyst than the famale programmers. So nothing was done.
It is sad that people just throw "PTSD" out there as if it's not a real thing. Like saying, "This thing upsets me." It clouds the real meaning. Hearing about something that reminds you of past trauma is not what causes PTSD, which is a serious and sometimes debilitating problem.
Unbelievable miracle. This is real take it serious, who will believe that herbs can cure Herpes, i never believe that this will work I have spend a lot when getting drugs from the hospital to keep me healthy, what i was waiting for is death because I was broke, one day i hard about this great man who is well know of herpes and cancer cure, i decided to email him, unknowingly to me that this will be the end of the HERPES in my body, he prepare the herb MEDICINE for me, and he send it through courier services he also told me how many days it we take to get to me, so i actually receive the herbs he give me instruction on how to take it, at the end of 2 weeks, he told me to go to the hospital for a check up, and i went, surprisingly after the test the doctor confirm me negative, i thought it was a joke, I went to other hospital it was also negative, then I took my friend who was also suffering from cancer to the Dr ituafelice, after the treatment she was also confirm free .
This "it happened to me too" BS has to stop. If they don't name names, nothing will change. This perv did it with witnesses! Terry should have called him out by name. I can only imagine how many men he did this to 'behind closed doors.'
In 1970 I worked for the Department of Education Santa Clara County CA. as a computer programmer The male systems analyst/computer maintenance guy had his hands routinely in your blouse, up your skirt and attacked women (kissing) in the tape volt. I had 2 small children to support other women left. We all informed the (female) director of the department. To her it was more important to keep the computer running than the sexual harrasment complaints.
The thing is, the women Weinstein assaulted did try to speak, some spoke to journalists. And what did these "journalists" do? Buried the stories!
this thread would've turned out so differently if a woman had groped him,, on both sides of perspective
PRAYERS, STAY STRONG, TERRY, PEOPLE LOVE YOU FOR WHAT YOU ARE NOT FOR HAPPENED TO YOU!
TERRY, STAY STRONG, PEOPLE LOVE YOU FOR THE KIND PERSON YOU ARE, NOT FOR WHAT HAPPENED, PRAYERS,, GOD BLESS YOU!! <3
I find it really refreshing for a man to talk about his experience so openly and have people listen. The experiences and mental care of both men and women should be taken more seriously.
He's not brave. He sold out "bcuz I didn't want 2b ostracized". He's part of the problem. If he had taken it to the news, maybe some of these things would not have happened.
You would think very differently if it happened to you ❗️😡
Load More Replies...What happened was inappropriate & violating but you don't get PTSD from someone cupping your balls over your pants. People REALLY suffer from PTSD, he doesn't and he wasn't raped.
Let someone threaten your livelihood & your home security like that - then we'll talk about how much you really know what PTSD is ❗️😤

All the consequences he listed? Still high risk of happening even in the current climate. His experience is limited to one instance that might have happened a long time ago, and the man apologized. It's not enough to name and condemn the person publicly, especially if Terry has nothing else to substantiate further accusations. It would EASILY backfire, and might discourage more people from coming forward. People will still talk backstage, and exchange experiences, and chances are, if a man felt comfortable sexually assaulting a man of the physical stature of Terry Crews, he probably tried his hands at other people since. Terry's testimony alone would not be enough.
Load More Replies...yet he named no one. Many conservatives say the same thing about keeping quiet about their values. Yet the big starts say it is not true. Yet things like this happen and is instantly believed. (and like the conservatives' story's equally as true) (as long as no names are told)
He can't name anyone. Everything he listed would happen to him if he did, would still happen now. I don't think you realize the strength that it takes for a man in Western culture to come forward and even express, "I was sexually assaulted and it caused me emotional harm". He only has his own experience, which is not enough to justify publicly condemning someone (especially since the man reportedly apologized) AND risk his whole career. If more people come out against that specific person - because while he won't be named publicly, people talk behind the scenes in Hollywood - chances are, he'll back them up.
Load More Replies...I understand your sentiment, but only the victim decides if they feel save enough to name the abuser. It shows a lot what Terry actions were. Such a big strong man, loved by so many and still afraid. You get name called, blamed that it is your own fault. People don't believe you. You can loose your job or future jobs. I think anyway Terry is very brave to tweet this story and it will give others strength and perhaps a push to come forward.
