How about you made a good offer to a client, he refuses it, get's the job done 'for free' somewhere else and then asks you to fix the errors

Uhhh why not? If the brochure consists of stock photography, some lines or boxes and some text there is no need for Illustrator or InDesign

Are designers somehow immune from the commercial imperative that affects the rest of the world: "The Customer is Always Right"? Designers always b***h about clients, and that's mainly snobbery in my view They believe themselves to be better than the person paying them. But they get paid plenty for their time, they get to discharge their aesthetic liberally all over someone else's vision, and they can always go do something else if they hate it so much. The whining is no more valid than that of any other working person.

The client is not always right. We do not study a 4-year program and have years of experience, for someone to come and tell us how to do our job. No. Do you tell an architect how to do his job? Do you tell an engineer how do you do his job? The only snobby attitude is to think you know more than a designer. To think his job is useless, and yet ask for his service. And P.S. we are so underpaid. They do not pay you the extra time you work for, the many changes they ask for, the many hours of skype calls and meetings they request, and the psychological burden they leave you with.
