Meet Chunky the pooch who was kidnapped by four teenagers and tortured in the most cruel way possible. “This was the most disturbing case I have ever dealt with – by an absolute mile,” Caroline Doe, an RSPCA inspector, told Honest To Paws. “These youths admitted feeding Chunky drugs, kicking and punching him, and wringing and breaking his neck before dumping him. They also said they set fire to his face and eyes after lighting a deodorant aerosol can. ” On top of that, Chunky got his legs broken. “The whole thing sends shivers down my spine,” says Doe.
All of this happened last year. Still, we can’t forget this story. Chunky the chihuahua mix has inspired so many people around the world to take a stand against animal cruelty. Although the ordeal has left the doggie more timid and nervous than before, the good news is that the doggie is going strong and has reunited with his owners. Having recovered from it all, Chunky is one inspiring pooch!

I read this news long ago. What the heck is wrong with some people? Getting fun and pleasure by physically and mentally destroying a living creature? I've seen people like these 'kids' before and, believe me, they aren't mean because they've had difficult childhoods. I used to live in a private neighboodhood and one time, some of my neighbors' children killed one of my family's dogs (which was recovering from chemotheraphy) by throwing poison into our garden, and three years later those same kids killed a rescued cat we had by kicking her head until they smashed it and throwing her dead body in our front yard. My family's pets never go outside (that kitty proably was leaning her head out of our gate) and they aren't noisy at all. Believe me, some people are pure evil and dangerous not only to animals but to the entire society.
That is absolutely awful. I am very sorry to hear that happened to your family. Cruelty to animals just for fun or pleasure is an early sign of anti social personality disorder aka psychopaths and sociopaths. These are the people you need to avoid. They can't feel empathy nor do they have any regards to morals or social norms. These are the people that end up having a criminal record and a lot of serial killers have this mental illness. I agree with you that this may have nothing to do with their childhood. People with great childhoods and loving parents could still develop ASPD and be extremely cruel to animals. This is not something someone who loves animals or doesn't love animals but knows and recognize that this is something that cruel and not with the norm. If you see someone like this, again avoid the h*ll out of them because majority of the time, they move onto people next.

With stories like this, it is hard to endure how much wrongdoing is in the world. Political beliefs nonewithstanding, empathy is crucial for getting along with each other. People who will feel no empathy with animals might "function" in society, but I believe that their contribution to it will be much lower than that of people who are empathic. I am still wondering what parents and the society as a whole can do to prevent those who do not feel for others from doing what feels bad for others. Alas, I have no answer.

my only hope is that the teens who have done this did not just get a slap on the wrist... being teens that is probably what happened... they should be made to work in a dog shelter every day - after school - and on weekends for at least 2 years.... no days off either... Let them clean the areas where they live, feed, walk, bathe, and help take care of all the animals in a shelter.... 4 days ago a burglar entered in to my mother's apartment after he broke a window. Shortly after we arrived at her place and couldn't find her parrot. My first thought was that he is dead somewhere under all the clothes and broken stuff on the floor. I wasn't allowed to touch anything so i went outside and start calling his name. He answered from a nearby tree. We couldn't climb because the branches were to thin. We called the firefighters but before they arrived he got to cold and couldn't hold himself anymore so he felt. It was so dark and were minus 5 degrees. We took him to the vet and he is fine now. The one who broke our stuff and stole our goods didn't care about that little animal's life. He probably became noisy when he saw the burglar in his room so he took him out of his cage and throw him out the window to die. I'm sorry but i don't consider them humans. Being human it's not how you look, it's how you behave.

It's been proven that a human that tortures animals will, in all likelihood, molest, torture and/or murder a human being. These teens need to be put away from society. There is something missing in their makeup that will never be "fixed". They are a danger to any living creature. Don't like the idea of prison for them, well, let them live at Your House!

They got 12 months probation, 700-9000 fine to be paid by parents, and banned from owning a pet for 5 years.

With stories like this, it is hard to endure how much wrongdoing is in the world. Political beliefs nonewithstanding, empathy is crucial for getting along with each other. People who will feel no empathy with animals might "function" in society, but I believe that their contribution to it will be much lower than that of people who are empathic. I am still wondering what parents and the society as a whole can do to prevent those who do not feel for others from doing what feels bad for others. Alas, I have no answer.

This issue is trivial, but this proves that the attention to the issue of bullying that our children and teenagers do against animals / plants / even humans is still relatively low specially in my country. Really what is wrong with people these days?! Hurting innocent little animals just because they have nothing else to do?? Where the hell are their parents/psychiatrists at this point?! No animal should ever have to go through something like this! EVER. I hope the poor thing can still somehow have a normal life even after this.. my only hope is that the teens who have done this did not just get a slap on the wrist... being teens that is probably what happened... they should be made to work in a dog shelter every day - after school - and on weekends for at least 2 years.... no days off either... Let them clean the areas where they live, feed, walk, bathe, and help take care of all the animals in a shelter.... Let them be close to them and may be,,,,, just maybe they will learn to appreciate what dogs (and cats) are all about... just maybe they will fall in love with all of them... and learn that they have unconditional love for all humans....... and just maybe they will really learn that what they did is totally unacceptable ... become a mentor for all these wonderful animals.... go for it.... get creative with the punishment they are given !!!!

4 days ago a burglar entered in to my mother's apartment after he broke a window. Shortly after we arrived at her place and couldn't find her parrot. My first thought was that he is dead somewhere under all the clothes and broken stuff on the floor. I wasn't allowed to touch anything so i went outside and start calling his name. He answered from a nearby tree. We couldn't climb because the branches were to thin. We called the firefighters but before they arrived he got to cold and couldn't hold himself anymore so he felt. It was so dark and were minus 5 degrees. We took him to the vet and he is fine now. The one who broke our stuff and stole our goods didn't care about that little animal's life. He probably became noisy when he saw the burglar in his room so he took him out of his cage and throw him out the window to die. I'm sorry but i don't consider them humans. Being human it's not how you look, it's how you behave.

It's been proven that a human that tortures animals will, in all likelihood, molest, torture and/or murder a human being. These teens need to be put away from society. There is something missing in their makeup that will never be "fixed". They are a danger to any living creature. Don't like the idea of prison for them, well, let them live at Your House!
