What Women Over 130 Lbs Shouldn’t Wear? This Girl Has The Perfect Answer
In this age of social media domination, bullying doesn’t stop at school – it just continues online after the bell rings. One Florida teen noticed a disturbing amount of body shaming from other girls on Twitter. Hence, she decided to turn the nasty public shaming trend into a wave of body positivity.
The girl, who goes by Kale, rounded up screen captures of users who tweeted out various things that people ‘under 130 pounds’ shouldn’t wear, including short shorts, leggings, crop tops, and all the other revealing clothes. Weighing just over 140 pounds herself, she then posted two selfies, which proved not only that weight is just a number that looks different on every body type, but that anyone can wear whatever they damn please, regardless of what beauty standards others might hold.
Kale ended up starting an amazing chain reaction, with hundreds of fabulous ladies stepping forward wearing clothes that they want. Follow the inspiring story below, and tell us what you think of the response in the comments!

Share on FacebookThis isn't a response to bullying. This is simply redefining weight by shape and not by numbers. All the women photographed have very socially 'acceptable' body shapes that would surprise nobody. I would be far more impressed if someone said that it wasn't about having a flat stomach or gappy thighs and people were able to see themselves as beautiful like that, and that they were celebrated for being so.
Good points and, honestly, I expected the same, kind of. But I'd have to disagree on the "unsurprising" part. Way too many people have no concept of the connection between numbers and the human body. Go tell a superficial boy that you're a 180cm tall girl who weighs 70kg. They'll picture a giant wrestler im their heads, not a nice looking girl with a perfect body.
Load More Replies...130 lbs = 59 kilograms. SERIOUSLY?! 59 kilograms is considered "please not wear tight clothes"? Maybe if you have 120 cm height. But a woman around 150-170 cm height with that weight is perfectly normal, cmon people!
I think that this topic is EXTREMELY boring already. We were over this a hundred times before. Who cares?! Wear what you like!
while people are still s****y to others bc of how they look, things like this will keep poping up
Load More Replies...I don't know. To me she didn't shut down all the body shaming idiots. Now they know that 130 pounds look different on anybody and they will just rephrase their insults to something like: Don't wear leggings, shorts, cropped shirts... if you're out of shape/fat... She didn't stop the bullies.
Pretty sure it's less about stopping them, and more about pointing out their idiocy to the rest of society.
Load More Replies...Thanks God in America you can find a 5X size skinny pants or a crop top wide enough to cover a small car. In Mexico one size fits all but women over 65 kg wears it anyway no matter how they look
it sucks that people think that your weight or body shape has to define what you wear. you can’t please everyone! so wear whatever you want! it doesn’t matter. ultimately, you are the one who has to live with yourself, and i don’t see how anyone could be happy with themselves by constantly trying to please others.
Bullying really sucks. Everybody just worry bout yourself and keep your judgement to yourself. Wear what ever you wanna wear. You can never please everyone—- no matter how thin, or not, even beautiful bodies get sniped on —-cause “Somebody” somewhere’s gonna have something to say so just put yourself on ignore and wear what you like, what makes you feel fab. Who cares what others think? Only care bout what you think. You can’t please everyone so you may as well please yourself. Once you go on ignore, you take away the power of the bully. You’d be surprised at how easy it gets after you tune ‘em out a few times. Freeeeedom!!
Now this is beautiful. Check out Ashley Graham...pure confidence with a larger than average build. http://www.ashleygraham.com/
didnt really "own them" like ppl said. just showed that their understanding of weight vs appearance is wrong and they'll continue to bully anyone "chubby" for their appearance. all the responses did was self satisfy the posters
well.. I am 5'11', very sporty with a body fat percentage of 18% and I weigh 82 kgs (not gonna convert that to pounds, sorry). Going by weight does not take the height into consideration - and even without adding the height aspect, just wear whatever you want, no matter how skinny or heavy you are.
Haven't we had enough of this already. People that make mean comments about your weight or anything else like that should just be ignored. Its tiring when everything I read is trying to "teach me a lesson".
I want to see these "perfect" young women when they are just 20 years older from now. Will they be wearing shrouds and only going out after dark? Will they be teaching their daughters these same values? Since their only value that they put on themselves is the size of their bodies, that's sad.
I don't see what the issue is, sure there is a limit but 135 is not that heavy like some people think.
As a once skinny..now curvy chick at about 145...leggings look great on me..
I don't care if you think I should or not wear something..You are judgemental and pay attention to your self and what business is it of anyone other than the person wearing what they like..If it makes you uncomfortable look away.
its really rude to say people cant wear stuff if there over 130 its stupid
130 lbs is a perfectly average size. It's even a little skinny. I highly doubt that all these jerks are under 130 lbs.
I don't care what a person looks like. Wear whatever the hell makes you feel happy!
Any man who demands a woman be that small better have a 6 pack and that V muscle down there. They also better have biceps I can do pull ups on.
Body Shaming is terrible. Everyone has a different body type and regardless of what that is, we are made to feel s****y about it. It's hard to love your body in a society that deems you unhealthy if you are skinny OR curvy. I am 175 lbs and don't look it. It's always going to be a constant battle between what I see and what others see, but Ill get there.
I know they're just high school students(for the most part), but 140 pounds largely varies, depending on height, frame size, muscle mass, and bone structure. On top of that, wear you carry your weight can be deceiving as well. But that's not the point anyway. As a teacher who has dealt with students between the grades of 7-12, cyber bullying is out of control, and has been for at least a decade now. Even though male students do more of the physical bullying, I would say female students take the cake for cyber bullying. They are so cruel to each other. It goes beyond body-shaming, as they do it with each others' boyfriend history, substance use, and so on.
I think the message is more if you're bigger where your size of said items. I see a lot of bigger ladies wearing things they simply can't fit...
Sorry, people who say body shame and bully, are uglier than the people they are trying to target. With and ugly attitude like that, no matter how smoking you "think" you look, it's a big turn off to almost everyone. They are trolls in sheeps clothing.
The one in the swim suit weighing 165lb must be tall. I'm a guy at 5'6" and when I was only 165 my belly was hardly flat like hers. 😕
