41 Tattooed Seniors Answer The Eternal Question: How Will Your Ink Look When You’re 60
In 2012, more than 20 percent or 45 million Americans had one or more tattoos, so it is no more a surprise to sport some body art to anyone. And that number comprises not only of people in their early twenties but also a nice percentage of older people with tattoos. We bet that most of the 45 million people before getting their tattoo designs inked were asked to think how would they look when they're in their 60s. Well, the best answer to that would probably be that no one will look as good in their sixties that they did in their twenties, so the ink has nothing to do with that, really.
Many people balk at the idea of getting a tattoo either for fear that the aged tattoos will look bad, or that it would be unfitting for an older person. While that's a matter of personal taste, these older people with tattoos are here to show you that their tattoo ideas and execution are just as impressive now as they were back then.
If you have a photo of some cool tattoos on older people, then we'd love to have their picture here in this list! Also, don't be so amazed that these elderly badasses are sporting some really nice ink and not your typical old people tattoos.

um, love the tats, but I can do without the rings. Not for me to judge, though, is it?
I am 55 and these tattoos are 25 years old! Both20Tatt...73bdb3.jpg
I bet she was/is in the Circus and if her head was shaved it would have a full tat.
This man can't be 60! 40 maybe? Some men really wear grey/white hairs /facial hairs well. Damn he is looking good.
Aging is not sad. Loosing dignity is sad.
You mean LOSING, NOT loosing, which means getting looser.
you mean loosening, not loosing. loosing means releasing

Exactly. Something very undignified about tattoos on an older woman. Somehow it's worse than for men. I hate to say that....
I was not saying that exactly; I was just saying that getting old does not have to be sad.
As a tattooed woman who's been asked this many times, I shall gleefully acquaint them with this article. Hazaar!
This is inspiring! They look so badass!
most of them are new tattoos on old people. :D
Exactly. There's no way that most of these tattoos are as old as the people they're on.
Well what's an old tattoo? I believe that a load of these are very old 30-50 years but even if last nite new the idea is seniors rocking it
If they were as old as the people that would mean they were tattooed as babies
You have them re-inked from time to time, to keep the color vibrant.

Yes,but the problem is you can't do much about your face .The face doesn't fit any more. It's like not accepting your age.
When you get a tattoo, you have to get it updated every five to ten years to keep it fresh. It's likely this is the case with most of these.
I should get a tattoo!!!
just get one, make it a goodin...
Make it beautiful AND meaningful!!
You're right, I did wonder. I certainly don't consider some of these folks to be elderly! But, I think the tatts and the elders look great!
I think this post just proves that tattoos look amazing at all ages. I'm so glad I finally got one and look forward to more.
I'm 71 had my tats for 30 years look good as they did first day out !! I love !! So does everyone else that isn't tataphobic!! They r art !!
Let your freak flag fly.
I love tatts my pop is 76 and is still getting tattoos he loves them
It all comes down to how well you take care of your tattoo AND your body! Most of them did a great job!
Most of them look no different than what they originally had, I am so inspired to know this as a tattooed chick!
Elderly does NOT mean people in the 50's, ffs. The author is clearly ignorant. 65 is where elderly begins in the USA. The new title for the article should read like "The Best Gen-X and Boomer Tattoos Ever!" Not showing 53 year olds. lol
Aging is not sad, is it sad to be a baby, child or teenager? It's life. It is how you think and live that counts and that can be sad.
What this atical has shown me is... You Just Gotta Rock It!! Don't be worried what others think! Just ROCK Your Tattoos!
actually seeing these very interesting photos makes me want to get tattoos so i CAN have them when i'm older. :)
Fantastic
Some of those guys look pretty spunky with their beards and sleeve tatts. Good stuff!
It's Interesting To See.
As long as you take a good care of your body and tattoos you're gonna look as badass as they do :)
hmmmmm. This is a toughie. I respect their individuality, and the tattoos have aged well but......... I'm still not a fan
Number 4 has my vote!

I'd like to know how long they've had these tattoos. My uncle got one during WWII when he was in his early 20's, but you couldn't read the words at all 30 years later. Maybe if he'd just stuck to pictures?
I don't want to get any
Three questions: what are the ages of these people; how long ago did they have their tattoos put on; and have they added to or touched up their tatts at any time since they were done?
wow..great
if when I am old all I care about is what I/my ink looks like I haven't lived the life I set out too, I hope my concern is w my family
To Neillives: No,of course aging doesn't have to be sad - on the contrary. Yet tattoos constantly hark back to peoples' youth. That IS sad...
Tattoos actually look better on them than most young people...
I think they all look great. I don't have tattoos because my skin is way to sensitive to the process but kudos to all of these folks!
Some of these Tatts aren't old. Love the pics. Great
As long as you take a good care of your body and tattoos you'll look as badass as all of them :)

They look no better now than before! And, believe it or not, 60 is not yet old!!
#19 and #20 are the same guy
Nope
You mean 19 and 21
Most of these tatts are recent, a few are genuine.
Makes me think they all are Masochistic. I wonder if they have ever regretted doing it?
