Tattoos are becoming more and more popular. It's probably harder to find a person with no tattoos than a person with them. Many people "get inked" because they find it beautiful or because they want to have a meaning, idea, or memory on their body forever.

Another reason that is often forgotten is getting tattoos to hide body imperfections, like scars or birthmarks. That is what this Vietnamese tattoo artist helps people with: feeling beautiful and happy in their bodies.

"My passion is all about tattooing over scars, burns, birthmarks, or any imperfections on the bodies. I believe that a well-done, beautifully constructed tattoo will not only change a person’s image but also lift their confidence and overcome insecurities," the artist told Bored Panda.

The tattoo artist, known as Ngoc on her social media, spends lots of time designing tattoos for people who want to hide their imperfections. It's not an easy task, because you have to pick the best shapes, colors, and placement for the tattoo to efficiently cover the spots up. The skin where wounds used to be is usually thicker or thinner than normal skin and is hard to work with.

By helping people cover up their wounds, scars, and other marks, Ngoc helps them forget past traumas, move away from bad memories, or just feel happy, confident, and comfortable in their bodies. She uses art to heal people's wounds outside and inside. Ngoc helped a woman whose stomach was disfigured after having three children. She gave her a beautiful flower tattoo.

Tattooing requires a lot of experience, patience, and knowledge—especially complicated tattoos like these. Ngoc is a professional in this not-so-easy field. She has been tattooing over 10 years and makes sure that every tattoo she does is perfect, because fixing a tattoo is not so easy and can damage the skin even further.

I love how she incorporates the texture of the scars to give the design contours. AMAZING work!

That feather is great. You would never know that this is a scarred area underneath.

The detail on that fish and the waves make this truly a work of art.

Am I the only one who wants to know the story behind the scars? Was this woman attacked by a shark? To me, the scars are just as beautiful as the tattoos, with their illustration of survival. Both are beautiful

Most of these tatts are magic. I kept wondering just how these people got such scars - surgery contributed to some, but others? Would love to see that story.

I hope they got that area looked at by a doctor before tattooing all over it. It looks suspicious for melanoma.

A responsible tattooist wouldn’t tattoo over an obvious suspicious lesion, so hopefully the tattooist was responsible and the person actually got it checked or they knew the cause of a possible birthmark or scarring.

Looks like a Nevus mole which needs to be monitored. Surprised anyone would tattoo over it...yikes.

Yes the fact that the hair is also darkly pigmented suggests a birth mark or mole.

Oh my God. That has every hallmark of a melanoma. Tattooing it could get the "show" on the road a lot sooner. It looks pretty bad right now. Yikes!

Based on its irregular shape and multiple colors it isn't just merely a hairy mole. It's a classic melanoma.

This does not look like any scar..more suspicious. Surely it would have been checked before tattooed?

They don't recommend removal unless it changes shape and color. Check the subheading Should a Doctor Remove the Dysplastic Nevus to prevent Melanoma ? Please see below for article found at the National Institute of Cancer, a well known respected website https://www.cancer.gov/types/skin/moles-fact-sheet#what-does-a-common-mole-look-like
