If you've never heard of Tank Sinatra, the creator behind the Instagram powerhouse “Tank's Good News,” chances are you've been living on the Moon. Tank, whose real name is George Resch, is a prolific content creator who gained millions of followers on Instagram through meme creation and reposting hilarious content. "Tank's Good News" is one of Resch's projects where he only focuses on re-sharing positive, uplifting media to the general public. It turns out that Resch's own personal story helped serve as a kind of inspiration for the account.

Resch told Elite Daily that he struggled with sobriety more than a decade ago, before getting completely sober at the age of twenty-two. Now being thirty-eight, Resch recalls: "I would be frustrated that I wasn't positive, but I wasn't looking for anything to be positive [about], so it was a vicious downward cycle where I was unhappy and I looked for things to justify my unhappiness. When I got sober, I thought doing that would kill me. So, I felt like I needed to be positive to survive."
In 2017, Resch created Tank's Good News, the hugely successful project that stems from his frustration with the negativity of current news. “CNN, Fox... they've made a business out of creating a visceral reaction out of people but that reaction is fear, anxiety and negativity," he explained. He didn’t know there was a market for good news, yet said he knew “if I could make people feel good, they would come back."

Me too. I’m 61 now, and finally no longer on the receiving end of this behavior. I am ready, willing, and fully able to instill Mom-level terror in stalkers and harassers like this.
Load More Replies...I'm a man, but still more than happy to help you out in those circumstances.
If the woman isn't old enough to be your mother, you can also say "sister" and most of us younger women will have your back too.
Call me whatever you like. I'll be your mom, aunt, sister, bestie, alien guardian pegasus...I'll help you.
Load More Replies...The other side of that, if you see a teenage girl that seems to be getting harassed, followed, or hit on and seems uncomfortable, go up to them and pretend to be their aunt or cousin or anything along those lines so that they have an easy out.
lol fabulous!! I'm 61 but I can still kick some ass!!
Load More Replies...Middle aged woman here- can confirm. We will march in between you and you can count on us to walk you to your vehicle/ stick around for your ride or walk you to where you're going. We understand.
This happened to me when I was 15. A guy noticed me in the bus, got off after me and followed me to the cinema, where I was supposed to meet my friend. He tried to talk to me and ask me out and even asked to pay for my ticket, but I said no thanks and bought my own ticket. 5 minutes later my friend reached and I told her about this guy who'd been following me. An older man, who was standing near us, overhead me and thankfully immediately alerted the cinema security. Turns out, as soon as I had finished purchasing my own ticket, the creep had convinced the ticket lady that he was with us, and asked her our seat numbers, to buy a ticket right next to me. Thankfully the other guy had noticed something fishy about the h Whole thing, as I myself was still too young or naive to know how to react
my bestie who is a girl and i am a guy had a neighbour that used to always hit on her he was an older guy but she was getting really annoyed by so one day after i had visited her he saw me on my way home i am a big guy so she told him i was her boyfriend on and i was on my way to an MMA match that i was in he never bothered her again after that
Someone did this for me C1991 when I was on a train and I really had no idea why that fat old weirdo bloke sat opposite me and starting talking to me like he knew me. But ya know I knew I had to be polite. Next thing a woman probs only 10 yrs older at the back of the carriage stood up and started shouting and waving Michelle, Michelle I haven't seen you in ages and beckoned me over. I'll never forget it.
This should be for every female ever where. I'll even be your daughter or grand daughter if your uncomfortable.
oh wow. The power of women helping women this is a fantastic thing that should be everywhere
I love this, I had an encounter recently when a strange woman came over to me to interrupt a conversation I was reluctantly having a creepy man while standing in line. She stood next to me until I was finished. Then we talked until he left.
It's a rule of the woman code. Always help fellow women if they need help. I will play along and be your friend/sister/mom if I need to. If you need a pad I will give you one
I'd pull the tazer out of my purse and ask if she forgot hers at home.
It is things like this that make society stronger as a whole. It's just sad that is has to come to this though.
Yes, I am available whenever I leave my front door!! And I have a Heavy purse... filled with Hard Things!! 🤨😡

I've heard stories like this before. It can really be a life saver if you just act like you know someone. Most of the time they get the hint.
Yes! Or a man who looks like he would be safe (never underestimate your intuition). It's sad that this even has to be a thing, though. We need to all ask ourselves what it says about us, as a society, that girls and women being stalked, harassed, etc. is so prevalent that we have to come up with plans of action for them WHEN it happens (rather than IF).
I'm not an older lady but I've had two ladies younger than me pretend to know me before, the first time I thought maybe it was a scammer or a pickpocket because she came from behind and grabbed my arm but I soon found out she was only a teenager trying to get away from a creep so we walked around a department store together until he left.
A couple years ago a woman in her late teens or early 20s was running down the middle of the street screaming for help. She was trying to flag anyone down. I stopped, she yell, "Help! They're chasing me! They're going to kick my @**!" I let her hop in my car and drove to a busy McDonald's while she called the cops and the other people were chasing us. I let her in the hands of the police.
It works, did it a a theme park, but I really did think I was yelling for my dad until the man turned around. But he seen the fear in my face and looked behind me as asking where I have been. I then cried with relief.
Damn right we will! And some of us are armed! So leave our girls alone!!!
Honestly, just ask friendly looking guy, most of us will happily beat the crap out of them.
I'd like to be available too, but the reality is I wouldn’t tell them to approach any man with a similar ploy. When my wife was kidnapped by a cult down in LA and moved to a compound up on a large hill, she escaped and flagged a car down. The guy tried to rape her. I mean, what are the odds? Apparently pretty good when you are female, young and pretty. Or pretty bad. Not sure what to say.
I will momma bear anyone in need even if I’m not your mom!
Load More Replies...This happened to my mom and her friends. They burst into a woman's home and told her what was happening. The lady went outside waving her broom and hollering to "stay away from my girls"! They didn't know each other and are friends to this day. I helped my daughter's friend and siblings who were being abused. They lived with me for a week then she got a divorce.
I saw a group of older teens hassling a girl about 13. She was clearly upset, so I walked over and loudly said, "Christie! Where the hell have you been? I've been looking all over for you!" She replied, "Sorry Mama." The boys scattered immediately. I took her to a nearby coffee shop where she could call her Mom, who promptly came and picked her up. I shudder to think what could have happened to (Maria) if I hadn't intervened.
Had this happen, the irony is that I am a dad to two, granddad to three.... and a couple of hundred teenage students have called me dad. I answer without hesitation. Gets me funny looks, but I kind of enjoy it.
When I was a kid I was told to go to a policeman, but now you never see any except on TV
If ANY Woman or girl is harassed,I got ur back sister!🤜🤛
I'll be dad for any youngster that needs it as well, no-one will be getting past me, I'm 42 and scary when I need to be, it goes without saying if I'm aware of the situation first I've got you.
Kids come to momma... and if I can't be your momma ....call me what u want.. I've been a few friends "girlfriend" suddenly (or to buy a car lol-sad but Tru as a single female it's hard to shop " man stuff" ... I can act lol)
This actually happened to us. We were on a cruise and 2 young girls came over and called our freind "dad these guys won't leave us alone." We didn't hesitate Stat safe!
Best way to get the attention of women in a public space is to yell, "Mom!" I even look and I've never been a mother!
I'll give you guys a laff, 1969 my fiance had my brand new road runner at a new westminster arcade shopping for our upcoming wedding, she misjudged backing out of her stall and put a small dent on the front fender and a small scratch on the vehicle that she tagged, she gets out and the guy starts to berate her, she started to cry and just as the dickhead started again my mother comes walking out and jumps in, straightens the guy out and relaxes may, my mother was 5'5" and 120, but she was a dutch warbride who spent 5 years under german occupation, she didn't put up with anything especially yelling at her 18 year old future DIL.
Anytime, anywhere. No matter who you are kid, I will protect you if you need it.
Mom, auntie, granny or whatever works for you. This granny is always packing!
No, we haven't all been there. We will, however, protect our fellow women from any and all creeps no matter what.
Also carry mini hairspray. Pepper spray is illegal in a lot of places and hairspray hurts just as much if it gets sprayed in your eye (I know this bc I used to use hairspray every day)
Go right ahead. And I'm old enough to have a teenager. When did that happen?
Or "Dad." We got yer back, too. Might be slightly more effective, even.
As a man with a daughter and 7 nieces I will gladly play that role.. Which also includes the Dad ass whooping I am gonna give the guy harassing you FREE OF CHARGE.. 🤫👍💪
We need more men willing to give the "Dad ass-whooping" these low lifes deserve.
Load More Replies...My daughter had this happen the other day in a music store. I wasn't with her(her father was). She's 15 and the man was about 50 she said. Wish I was there!
It'd be my luck that the older woman would start running to the strange man saying, "help, I don't know this b***h!"
Even just a friendly looking guy, we would happily beat the crap out of them.
I'm mid 30s, so I can be a big sister, older cousin or aunt. Or mom if you're really young. Whatever you need, just get over here.
If we add the 99% of harassed women that don't report harassments, your stats start to look spot on. Hugs for you, you poor thing.

Load More Replies...The huge popularity of Tank's Good News reflects not only its creator's but our shared fatigue with what’s happening on the screens and media. The worst scenarios are bombarding us every day and it’s only fair we get fed up with it. To find out more about it, what this negative exposure does to our mental wellbeing and how can we be more resilient to it, we spoke with Dr. Lise Deguire, a clinical psychologist and author of award-winning memoir “Flashback Girl: Lessons on Resilience From a Burn Survivor.”
Dr. Lise said that indeed many people report that their mood is negatively affected by the news. “Of course, the news itself tends to focus on negative occurrences. For example, the news will report on the terrible car accident that happened. They will not, of course, report on the thousands of people that safely drove that day. (Safe, happy occurrences are not usually considered news.) But, because the news focuses so much on negative events, it can make us feel that only bad things are happening in the world,” she explained.
The clinical psychologist added that the news often focuses on events that make us fearful, “because when we are afraid, we tend to think we need to keep watching the news.”

Mistaken Love Is Still Love
When asked what are psychological benefits to reducing the time you spend on social media and watching TV, Dr. Lise said that when her clients report anxiety, sadness or anger about the news, she often encourages them to limit their news/social media exposure. “Most of us can stay informed through a quick read of the headlines. Having the news on in the background, or checking Twitter all day, often distresses people because the news almost always focuses on scary negative events and ignores positive ones,” she explained.

The good news is that we can all learn to become more positive and resilient to negativity. “One way is to learn who or what makes us feel good, and who or what makes us feel bad. For example, my mood usually improves when I listen to music or go outside. My mood usually goes downhill when I stop exercising. All of us have activities that lift us up or bring us down.”
Dr. Lise also said that the more aware we can be, the better choices we can make. “Does it help you to dance? Write? Call a friend? Take a bath? See if you can figure out what is in your positivity 'toolbox,'" she suggested.

That's espacially sad cause most big stores would accept to prep your groceries in advance and put them in your trunk. Especially if you need help like by being elderly in a pandemic. I feel them though, it is hard to think through during such panick. I just hope they found a more reliable way to safely buy their groceries.

My Eyes Are Sweating Wow
I helped my mum look after my dad throughout his illness. I did all the heavy and hard stuff she couldn’t do that he would worry about - the garden, cleaning the car, shopping, diy, you name it I did it. There are lots of photos of that time - dad and mum, dad and my brother, dad and his grandchildren but I don’t have a single photo of me with my dad; I was always the one taking the pictures, capturing the memories for everyone else.i will have to try this, I miss him everyday.

Man, why do I read posts like this. I am pregnant, therefore I cry when I,for example, see nice flower and this caused waterfalls.
I remember when I was pregnant crying at credit card commercials. I feel you! Keep some emergency tissues on you at all times. ❤️

This article brings tears to my eyes, warmth to my heart and hope to my soul! I loved each and every story. Kindness and compassion should never be taken for granted.
I've been emotional the past few days and thought I would be laughing and smiling from these posts... so wrong. I cried my eyes out with a few smiles here and there. But at least it is tears from positivity rather than the stress of life.
I needed this today. Thank you Liucija for putting this thread together.
I am dying of breast ca. One of the hardest things for me is worrying about leaving my 3 children and 2 grandchildren behind in what seems like a sad and unkind world. Thank you for relieving my worry and knowing that there will still be good and kind people for them out there when I am gone 😢😢😢😢
Love the rabbit's little studio apartment! We had a rabbit as a pet when I was around 14, and he was the best pet. He and our little dog, about the same size as the rabbit (small dog) would stay in the rabbit's cage together when we all had to go out for a few hours; Dog had no problems toileting through the bottom of the cage, and he and Rabbit would play together, eat together, and nap together. I remember them both very well, even though that was nearly 60 years ago.
Idk why but I cried a little more at each one. Thank you for this
imagine calling an entire country of people vile & then implying that you're part of the group of people being kind.
