It would've probably taken the majority of us to stand 2 minutes behind them at a concert to start to envy them, thinking they must have the world at their feet. But that might not be the case.
Tall people have problems. In fact, they even created a subreddit to prove that they don't have it as easy as short people think. From having to almost kneel to use the ATM to folding themselves in order to fit in an airplane seat, you gotta admit, some of the photo evidence they provide make the case pretty compelling. Human height has been steadily increasing over the past 2 centuries across the world. It is in line with improvements in our health and nutrition during this period. Generally, the data for these studies comes from soldiers (conscripts), convicted criminals, slaves and servants. It is, in fact, the reason why so many talks on human height focus on men.
During a 100-year period between 1896 and 1996, the largest gains in height were recorded for European and Central Asian men; their mean height increased by 11 cm (4.3 inches), overtaking North American men in the process. The smallest absolute gains were seen for South Asian men; mean height increased by only 5 cm (2 inches).

Same issue for lefties. Most of the world is made for right handed people. I'm having a problem all the time signing things. The pens with chain are always on the right and the chain does not reach for me to sign with left hand. Always have to ask a pen which is not attached to the counter
Leftie here as well... most of us have learned to become ambidextrous due to living in a rightie world. I hate those electronic pads for you to sign. I wind up sliding my hand over the screen and it looks like hell. And yes to the short chains.
I'm 6'3 myself and when I was younger, it was a real horror growing up. With shoe size 49 to 50 (15 US) and this size, you can imagine how my clothes and shoes looked like as a child and teenager. I did not always have it easy. But at least in Europe and Germany this has changed a lot. Actual problems I had recently mostly only in Asian countries and in the USA. In my experience, the people there are much smaller and there is simply no need to think about taller people. Just like it was here 30 years ago. Fun fact, my wife is 4'8 tall.

I am exactly the same size as you a.k.a the same size of a 10/12 years old Dutch child...I have the opposite problem...But I can imagine the back pain and the struggle for tall people visiting a country as mine....

Here we go again...international site operating from Lithuania, collecting posts from all around the world and yet you are not able to convert feets to (centi)meters to help the non-US readers better imagine different sizes mentioned in this article and you insist on using the Imperial system. And it is always like this. Everything on BP is measured in feets and miles and gallons. Why? I believe that it is difficult for thousands of BP readers to imagine how tall is a 6`1 person or how much is a cubic yard. Can we have both Metric/Imperial units shown in the articles and next to photos?

I live in a wheelchair, my eye level is butt level, MOST of the time I don't complain. Also, if you're that tall, please find a seat or squat to my level my spine cant take looking up that hard.
Can definitely relate (6'3"). I have issues with showers and with stairs. Cars can also be problematic. Mirrors not so much.
I feel truly sorry for all these people :( They must regularly struggle with back pain.
Visitors laugh at our kitchen. I'm 5ft2 my hubs and boys are 6'2 or above. The island is lower than norm cuz that's where I do most of the chopping/kneading/prep and the counter/sink is higher than norm cuz they do most the dishes. I have a custom step for when I do dishes.

There's a news story and accompanying photo that does the rounds every couple of years of two cops in the city of Cairns, in Queensland, Australia. Male cop is 6ft 9ins (just over 2m), while his female partner is 5ft 1ins (1.54m). I would pay good money to see the male cop unfold himself from the front seat of the front seat of the patrol car.

I have a friend at my school who’s 6’4, and he’s 15. His knees always hit the bottom of every desk and his entire family is known for being super tall. You could tell who walking down the halls was his sibling almost just by the height.

My son is barely 6' but frequently gets asked by strangers to get things from top shelves at stores when we go shopping.

As the fiance of someone who is tall I know for a fact tall people do not earn a higher salary or extra privileges, idk what gave you that dumb idea.
